dunno if anyone suggested weapon priority commands to bugtracker yet, but an F key for 'couch your lances', 'use ranged weapons', 'take no prisoners', etc. would solve it for all of us

but overall, i feel no matter what weapon you put on them, it's all for them to build proficiencies with it anyway, so just accept it for now--theyll still score major kills.

here's my rolf. i started him off with 2h and now he's adept at archery so whichever weapon he chooses is fine with me

I've figured out after the fifth time that when your companions ask you who should get a fief after a battle, the fief doesn't actually get assigned forcing you to take yet another relationship hit when you actually go to your court to assign them.

Is there a .txt tweak to either remove the companions asking you to assign after a battle or else fix the dialog so that the fiefs actually get assigned?

The best way to earn money/ raise levels/ make your companions killing machines, is to go to Rivacheg and start killing Sea Riders & Tundra Bandits (once Sea Riders are depleted), but just you and your companions... if there is no Ransom Broker in Rivacheg go to Wercheg.... with 2 on Prisoner and Inventory Managment you can make tons of gold selling the loot and capturing people, AND you and your companions will lvl up very fast...

Right now im at lvl 29 with my companions at lvl 20ish fully geared (plates) with some 60k in gold... (Difficulty just over 100%, no cheats, vanilla)....

if youre being cheap on skills and only using the masterwork hunting bow, that's the other reason haha

horse archery is highly dependent on the direction your horse's nose is pointing. it's a little strange to describe, but i find that if i curl my wrist and mouse gradually 90 degrees to the same direction the horse is turning and move it up a tad, that will keep the target in the middle of the screen and at the right height for me to calculate the rest of the relative motion for a perfect shot. maybe ill upload a video of this smooth scrolling.

slow down the horse while you turn, but don't come to a complete stop.

use the sarranid horse. it'll vastly improve your horse archery. coursers are too fast for accurate aiming and smooth turning.

the stronger the bow, the fewer arrows you need to sink to score a kill. masterwork war bow is the way to go, even if you don't get additional power draw to adjust for the accuracy, high proficiencies can fix that.

Don't charge, keep your guys in position, and ride out to meet/distract the cav yourself.  The worst losses will happen when you're hit by reinforcements at a bad time, gotta be aware of it.

Any prisoners you don't, (or can't) take are taken by what ever group has joined you on your side, with no limits. The same goes for rescued prisoners, any you don't  (or can't ) recruit are recruited by the other groups, so farmers could wind up with more that just farmers in their party.
