Are there any mods which adds more skill books to native warband? So far I have only found mods that add armor or weapons.

    We need a Asian Faction

True. Most major cultures are covered more or less. Though I agree that Indians...People from India (why couldnt Columbus have used another name for native americans...makes too much confusion) might be the only major culture of the time who arent covered.

If they want to make something original they could add "savage" cultures like african tribes or Aztec indians. They would have a disctinct technological problem though and would need to have at least a x10 manpower multiplier. Imagine your 100 Swadians against a horde of 3000 peasants .

    We need a Asian Faction

Well it wouldnt be very hard making a japanese faction. That would just be a Khergit faction with slightly better armor and slightly worse riding skill.

Though I like the thought experiment of a French army meeting a Japanese in the year 1300. Personally I think the Japanese would lose big time if the numbers were even. The military technology in Europe at the time was too superior for the Japanese to stand a chance. Would make for some quite cool duels between the samurais and knights though.

There is no superior culture or top cultures, that is an ethnocentric view point.

Everything youve said and all your arguements are loaded with ethnocentric remarks

What's next, you will say all races are the same and there's no more intelligent and less intelligent races?

Enjoy your relativism for a while, it won't last long.
? Well yes thats precisely what everyone is saying. The rest of the civilized world have spent a couple of thousand years learning that. If a culture dont believe that it certainly dont deserve to be counted amongst the civilized cultures and still have a long way to go.

Humans are just that...humans. It doesnt matter if you are born in Brazzaville or New York.

    1.105?

Hey they are Nord Raiders.....plundering villages is the national sport. The only reason you got 1 in rep penalty was because you left a few alive. That was sloppy work

    raising huge amount of cash!

Well it COULD sometimes be the other way around if a man married into a family above his own standard. You do after all pay to become part of the nobility. Consider it a fee to get a minor claim on royalty .

    The Pelt Coat?

It must be a dragon scale coat

    1.105?

I dont think the increase in rep from -1 to 0 is a bug. I have noticed the same. I think they have introduced a feature where negative rep slowly climbs back up to neutral.

Gameplay feartures that need to be fixed asap!

Just do some trading. That along with ransoming lords is my main source of income. As someone mentioned sea raiders are also quite wealthy (guess being a pirate pays well)

Any opinions on this Gamespot review?

Been playing computergames for 22 years and have played thousand of games. Mount and Blade is one of the 10 best games I have ever played. No its not excactly pretty(though you get used to the graphic), no its not ground breaking technology....but its just so darn fun to play.

Its the most positive surprise a game has ever given me...EVER.

Why did hitler declare war on stalin?

    Oil

Germanys oil reserves were running extremly low and it was nearly impossible to get oil from South America due to the allies controlling the sea. Almost all oil fields at the time were located in North and south america or in caucasus in Soviet Union. The fields in the North sea and middle east were insignificant at the time and Japan needed all the oil it could get from Asia so the germans didnt get anything from their ally.

Hitler underestimated the Soviets and probably believed his own nonsense that the slavs were sub human. He also failed to tage the russian winter and huge land mass into consideration. Another proof that those who do not learn from history are bound to repeat it.

    Going Viking in M&B

Sacrificing certainly wasnt a major part of everyday life in Scandinavia before christianity was forced upon us but it did happen from time to time. It was also not uncommon to sacrifice some slaves when a nobleman died so they could continue to serve in the afterlife.

I agree that its unfair to judge a society based upon our belief systems today but even judged by 900th century standards Vikings were considered barbarians....fairly or unfairly. The definition of what is considered civilized probably differed from country to country. The large city civilizations like the Franks and especially Byzantines probably considered anyone outside their borders savages. The few arab scolars who visited us most certainly did.

History havent judged Vikings very fairly. When the word Viking is mentioned people think about murderous raiders. Not the great explorers and traders Vikings also were. I blame Hollywood.

    He he

Well being scandinavian myself I would like to agree with you but I would hardly call general pillaging, raping, razing of peaceful settlements and monestaries civilized behavior. Not to mention use of slavery and human sacrifices.

    Going Viking in M&B

    You are no doubt correct.

While bow and arrow has been used in combat for thousands of years its not something a noble would ever use. It has always been a cheap low status weapon. Something you would equip your conscripted peasants with. At least in Europe. The mongols used it very effectively for example.

It was not until the english invented the longbow it became a really effective weapon in war in Europe which was several hundred years after us vikings became civilized (more or less).

I doubt anyone really used throwing axes in real life. Bows are far more effective and easier to use. At close range it might be somewhat effective but you would need to be so close that if you miss you are dead. You might as well use a large rock.

Its true that a large 15-20 kg axe would probably unhorse even a knight in heavy armor but its not something vikings regularly did. You would be a sitting duck.

Being from a family of lumberjacks i am fairly skilled with an axe but I would choose a bow or a spear anytime. At best I can only throw it acurately for around 7-10 meters.
