  1. IM BACK!

    And you are ...?
  2. Companions as killer machines

Iam playing native 134 without mods.
They do get lots of headshots but only from point blank. I trained them all manually to 300 xbow proficiency and difference between 200 and 300 is quite noticeable. 7-8 shot difficulty is quite far, they used to have more kills at greater distance (killing routing enemies from across the map) than they do now.

Its a known issue with aiming AI: more proficiency -> more accurate they manage to aim for that spot above the head and missing target completely:

    ... and there are more.
  3. Companions as killer machines

Giving range weapons for companions is not wise.
Ranged AI is bugged. At high proficiency arrow/bolt is always aimed slighlty above the head. If not fired into a bunched group from slight elevation they always miss. This is quite noticible at around 300 proficiency.
In field battles my companions kill less with 310 proficiency when they did with 200. Only exception is sieges, when fired from the walls into a clog of enemies.

If anything, give them xbows, wasting powerdraw is certainly not worth it.
  4. 'Devoted' relation changed?

    Surely, that cant be normal.
The whole point of getting 100 relation is when its there it stays there. Otherwise they drop relation just like some newly recruited lord.
That's how it was in patch 113. All the devoted lords from my previous saves stay at 100 no matter what. In 134 i cant keep new lords at 100, all my old devoted lords never change.
  5. Relation penalty when giving fiefs to lords

You can avoid this mess by simply choosing the right lords for your faction.

Spotting honorable lords while being a vassal:
    - when released after a defeat, talk to them again and gain relation
    - when declining mission no relation drop

    Honorable lords in own faction:
    - lord drops 2 relation instead of 3 when not agreeing whom the fief goes to
    - lord drops 2 relation instead of 4 while having no fief
    - lord suggests other family/faction member while having no fief
    - lord gains 2 relation instead of 1 when talking to them after successful siege
    - lord nominates vassal with "no land and income" rather than familiy member (works only with villages)

Try to recruit only big families and faction members at a time.
Eg: if fighting swadia, recruit only swadian lords, honorable swadians will always support swadians even outside family. When you are done with one faction, move to another and work it entirely. You will lose standing with all rhodoks if you give land to swadian lord. You will rebalance it when you give fief to rhodok lord.
So, there is no point having 2 sarranid lords when most of your vassals are swadian and rhodok. Those 2 lords will always support eachother and no one will ever support them unless you voting on their first village (no land and no income).

  6. 'Devoted' relation changed?

Iam playing native 134 and noticing that relation with devoted lords drops below 100 when giving out fiefs. Even though messages screen doesnt say so, when i talk to them i see that relation is dropped. Shouldn't relation stay the same when it reaches 100, even when lords are without fiefs? At...
  7. Lords gone?

    Caba`drin 说:
There isn't any chance to recruit them. And the factions they join are influenced by the relations their prior faction had with their new faction...so if you destroyed their old faction, there is little to no chance that they will join you.

Well, since i havent defeated the last lord and made peace i havent destroyed them technically. So, my only chance is that someone else will declare war on one remaining guy? And what are the chances of that?

I really hate how devoted lords who you worked so hard for always defect to another faction. And especially devoted lords have always good relation with their new liege (even with no fiefs) and almost impossible to recruit.
  8. Lords gone?

How long does it usually take for them to defect? Or how can i find that last lord location, maybe through cheats?
I really want to recruit some of them.

EDIT: yes, it must be a very small party, because they havent attacked anything in ages, so i decided to end this war.
  9. Lords gone?

They are not destroyed, thats the thing.
Faction only gets destroyed when the last lord is defeated.
  10. Lords gone?

Quick question here. I was at war with a Vaegirs and finally took all their land. Iam at peace with them now, but remaining lords are nowhere to be seen, all 18 of them! Been like that for around 20 days. On the lord's screen i can still see their family info, so they must be in calradia...
  11. Fighting Archers in Sieges

You picked the hardest castle of them all, Almerra is known to be tough.
    In general:
    - you bring enough ranged troops of your own to clear the walls
    - top tier troops on the ladder, i usually bring some huscarls so they can gain entrance faster: less clutter on the ladder less casualties
  12. Endgame sooner than anticipated

Try the Europe 1200 mod. It's still in Beta but has a LOT of promise and the map is absolutely HORRIFICALLY huge (and it's only about half done) with more castles, villages, and towns than you can shake a stick at, and more lords and factions than you know what to do with (did I mention that all this is in BETA, meaning it's only about HALF done?).  It also has a lot of new features: completely revamped recruiting with MANY options for your army composition, knightly tournament circuits where you can join a prominent team, Unique/one-time-only quests....  Link below, trust me you won't regret it.

    Wow, this looks huge, tnx.

Anyways, i will try to conquer everything just for the sake of it.
There are a few goals i could achieve while getting there:
    1. Training companions into battle gods and giving them lordly armor. All 8 of them are currently lvl 32. Would love to see my guys winning tournaments.
    2. Getting my marshal's renown past 1000. He started with around 800 renown and just passed 900. Not sure if its fief related or #N of battles/campaigns.
    3. Create rules for fief destribution: castle/city only for devoted lords (wish i done it before).

I hate changing difficulties. I've done it only once long ago and it seems pointless to keep bumping it up and making game harder. Beats the purpose of character advancement. There should be only one difficulty imho.
  13. Rule Number 1

Rule number 1 is never dig directly above or below you.
    Lol, minecraft that way
  14. Endgame sooner than anticipated

Iam still playing my first native game and at around day 650 i think i approached my endgame, which discourages me from playing further. My kingdom holds all rhodok, swadia and almost all vaegir lands. Have 45 lords spread evenly throughout my kingdom. Thing is, with that many lords my faction...
  15. Mod Without Actual Fighting

Why someone would play an autocalc-only game in Mount & Blade is beyond me... The combat is the best feature of this game by far. I know I wouldn't bother with it otherwise.

I second what NJSQRL said. Create an Int&Char focussed character and just never charge the enemy yourself, only give orders to your troops.
Better yet, you dont need troops of ur own either. Just be a marshal and command other lord's troops on the field. Nothing like riding across the map with 10+ speed and conquering everything.
  16. Quick question about savegame compatibility

    Thats great!
There was talk about future patches and savegame compatibility that got me worried. Just glad i dont have to redo my companions.
  17. Quick question about savegame compatibility

Been thinking about picking up warband and iam wondering if savegame from .113 compatible with the latest patch? I couldn't find changelogs so iam asking it here.
  18. Few people attending to feast

Yes, sometimes they leave too soon and you cant do anything about it.
As long as your feasts dont last 1 game hour you are not experiencing feast bug.
  19. Faction holds no land

Yes, iam having entire Rhodok coast unassigned, from Jelkala to Weyyah castle.
  20. Faction holds no land

    Abriael 说:
I persoanlly never seen a lord joining the faction that defeated him. But can't exclude it. Normally I feel that they join the factions that have more available fiefs.
This is sad. Just played a little time machine and indeed, all of the lords joined other factions. Besides, they are already speaking highly of their new liege.
It means i will never be able to recruit devoted and loyal lords for my faction! Lords whom i spend so much time buttering up!

Yet another "managing own kingdom in warband" disappointment for me.
