I am having the same issue and its exactly what mine is doing. Although I have not tried to disable the firewall on my router yet I will try it later on.

Even after the latest patch, .623 I am still unable to connect to any server. After it tries to connect my connection to steam and msn drops...weird.

I am having this issue along with not being able to connect to any server.

When I try to connect to any server it will try to validate serial number then pop up an error message saying unable to connect to server, soon after that my connection resets (everything logs off the internet) then comes back on. I had no problem like this before the new patch.
