  1. How to update the 1.03

Yeah, got it working now. Thanks again.
  2. How to update the 1.03

Alright one last question. I understood it as that you first had to download the 1.03 version from december 2013, and then update it using Tortoise svn? But now that I'm checking out the files with Tortoise it seems to create its own module directory. Does that mean I didn't have to install the base 1.03 first?

EDIT: Or.. hmm, since what i'm actually doing is an update, I should have only done the last "bonus" bit of the idiots guide, applying it to my already existing 1.03 module folder? Sorry for being so confused here.
  3. How to update the 1.03

Alright, will install Tortoise. I assume the information that was further down that thread was false then; we should should Tortoise and get latest versions through there. I don't like installing extra software just to keep a mod updated, but this mod definately seems to be worth the effort. Thank you Magitsu.
  4. How to update the 1.03

    Hey guys.

I'd really like to try this mod, but the installing seems a bit intimidating to me. I'm currently downloading the 1.03 version from Nexus, but then I understand there's something called SVN and some newer versions of the mod that can only be accessed if you install some other program?

Is there an easy way to get the latest update for this mod and if not, why not? And if not, should I follow the instructions in the idiots manual thread, or no? There are posts in that thread saying "svn no longer supported", etc.. it's all rather confusing for someone not very tech savvy and new to this mod. Thank you in advance!

I found a couple things that I'm not sure are known issues or not, so I'll just post it here for your convenience.
    • My loved one's hat! I was able to marry the elven princess Ilthildilnil-something, but I always thought her helmet looked a bit too much on her, so wanted to give her something else to wear on her pretty head. I was pleased to see a conversation option while talking to her out in the field, to remove her hat! It opened up her inventory and I could take her hat off and put in my own inventory. I didn't have the new hat with me so was going to give it to her later, but now that whole hat conversation option is gone, and she is forever without headgear. And I feel like a jerk!

Which version do you think you have?  Curious as many think the Princess is unavailable.
Mich showed me his so far secret location (its a presentation so of course I had skipped it) for version numbers to display.

I downloaded the latest official 0.72 patch from Nexus on December 27th. The download was named "Perisno_721_patch_25Dec14_2302EET" - not sure why it was called 721, but anyhow there you have it. I did read the whole discussion about people not being able to marry the princess and I didn't expect it to work for me since I didn't get your own versions from your google-drive but, indeed, it worked!
  6. Thanks guys

Gsanders, I only recently picked Perisno back up after a long break from Warband altogether. I don't know you at all - just from the posts I've read from you here during the holidays. I hope this doesn't come off as too fanboyish, but I just want to give you some praise here. I've just come home from a New Years party with a bit of drinking done, so bear that in mind.

The journey this mod has made since I last played it is quite impressive, and I'm sure you had no small part in that. You come off as a very dedicated guy with a heart for the mod and who tries to adress everything that people bring up. It seems somehow a lot of responsibility ended up on your shoulders, perhaps because you stepped up with a vision and some energy. I'd say you're probably worth your weight in gold to Perisno.

And no, I don't think you come off as grumpy. If you refer to the posts I'm thinking of, you just had a reaction from being pushed to the brink where you were already at some kind of limit. People can be insensitive sometimes and if you don't mark a limit they'll just keep pushing. What you do is taking what people say seriously. You're honest about what can be reasonably be fixed and not, priorities, your personal visions and thoughts, etc. Straightforward, open - no nonsense. I don't know if it means much, but I'd just like to give you a word of encouragement and appreciation, and as a professional tester I love to work with people like you. In some ways I've been in your seat (different context but same general situation), and I eventually got burnt out completely. I hope it doesn't happen to you, but just in case I want to say to everyone here who enjoy this mod and others like it:

Report bugs and care about the mod, but always do it with respect, without expectations and with a great deal of patience. Be nice to the modders, for without them you wouldn't even be here posting. They do something out passion which provides others with fun and extra value out of a game. It takes tremendous amounts of energy not only to do the actual work, but to think about what needs to be done, vision, and to live in that world as part of a mod project. Everything the modders do, every single thing even from the very first line of code - is a bonus.
  7. Thanks guys

I just posted a few bugs myself in the thread for it, and I saw that some of the other bug reports there come off as quite demanding and entitled.

Now, I know we're not doing professional testing for your mod and that some people are rude, but I'd just like to add a nice little thing that James Bach (big, famous software tester - was called as expert witness in the Microsoft trials) said about testers and bug reporting; see the tester as the loving wife in the morning, gently wiping the mustard off her husband's lip before he goes to work. We don't mind finding the bugs, and we will help you clean them off before those who would mind can see them. We're on your side and we've got your back!
  8. First post yada yada

I want to second the original post here.

It's not easy to create a mod. It's even harder to create a mod AND create your own lore and world and make it all come together! Perisno truly shines as a work of love, and it's so much fun to play! Thank you, creators, for providing so many hours of fun.
  9. Version 0.72 Bug Thread

Hello, devs and others responsible for this lovely mod! First of all, thank you for your hard work and providing countless hours of fun for those of us who just like to play fun games.

I found a couple things that I'm not sure are known issues or not, so I'll just post it here for your convenience.

    • Greater Bounty quests in taverns. When you take a large bounty quest in a tavern, and some other lord or patrol get to your target first, it doesn't matter if you move in and help defeat the target. You still fail your quest. Not just that, but the conversation with the tavern keep bugs out as well. You get the "I failed the quest" option, and it doesn't go away when you click it (and lose honor). You can click the option and lose honor unlimited times. Also, when you fail another quest (doesn't matter if it's a different tavern keep) you get a second "I failed" option, right below the first. This goes on until you have three "I've failed" conversation options, at which time they block out the option to take a new quest. In my save game, I can no longer take those nice bounty quests anymore because of this. The "failed quest" entry is still also stuck in my quest list. It doesn't help to go to a different city, and it doesn't help to save and reload.
    • Glitch with companions' equipment. I'm not sure exactly what I did, but I've been able to copy my companions' expensive armors! I think what I did was that I *cough* kind of stole their stuff because it was better than mine. Then I set them to upgrade their gear automatically, and after the next fight they had copied their old gear (just the armor, not the weapons). No biggie, but might be worth looking into at some point.

Anyhow, thank you again for this lovely mod and for your hard work making it even better! I can't wait for all this new years crap to be over so I can go back to my peaceful PC corner and play some more.
  10. Map really need more parties

I really agree with the OP here. It's very difficult to find any bandits to fight in the early game, and if you do, they're usually just 4 hapless ruffians that your men devour in 3 seconds.
  11. Three Things the DLC got very right

    1. Music (when it works) is absolutely fantastic.
    2. Story Mode. I love this! I love the dialogues and how companions and other NPCs react just like I'd imagine real people back then would. Lots of moral grey areas, and also I love the story highlights certain things - for example how hospitality is very important and respected, even among enemies.
    3. Ships and ship combat.
    4. Refuge! I've only just got my first one, but it seems you can do a lot in there! Love it.
  12. Cant find a merchant in the main storyline HELP

Had this problem too and was happy to fidn this post! Perhaps as a quality of life-improvement once all the critical bugs are ironed out, the devs could add a conversation with one of the other citizens who could point out the house for the player? Just like they point out Adda in that Danish city when you're looking for her.

Cozur please I beg you, give some sort of sidearm for the Elite Stormlands Man-at-arms!! They are the most useless unit in the game and the stormlands pay the price as a faction. Give them a short sword or a crappy axe, I don't know just give them something.

This! I always wince when my soldiers get upgraded to the Elite Stormlands Man-at-arms. I started roleplaying in my head "Alright veterans, you have proven to be tough. Now, go into combat without the ability to hurt your enemies! Those of you who survive will be promoted to serjeants."
