  1. Resolved CPU and GPU not used in siege battles near end

Hi, can you please check if your version of Windows and your drivers are up to date?

yes windows 10 and all drivers are up to date
  2. Resolved BUG One Handed skills /Perks

When I try to select the new perks, it never saves them. When I go back to the character screen it has reset them all and none are selected. I am playing a game started in 1.2, then updated to 1.3 and now 1.4. But I cannot select any one handed perks, they are all reset everytime I select them.
  3. bug with Castle garrisons and Castle sieges 1.4

Castle garrisons with 1.4 seem to be about 2000-3000 militia in my game. (I upgraded to 1.4 from 1.3) - I kinda like that finally sieging is a challenge, but maybe we can find other ways to make it a challenge additionally :) Also towns dont get these militia garrisons, only castles. And taking...
  4. The cost of peace increase is nuts

No idea how your making your gold but i have nowhere near enough that i can payoff 2-3 mil every 20 days or so when that quest triggers and 2-3 empires declare. Then you have the random declares in-between.

My empire is small only 2 other clans, at this stage there is just no way for me to fight 4 empire at once, especially sine 3 of those are near 8k strength or over.

I think it might just be a broken play-through though, loaded a different one and it prices had jumped the 50% or so

there should be different difficulty levels, I hope they adjust difficulty with other things than just damage, so everyone can enjoy the game.
  5. The cost of peace increase is nuts

it should be more, peace is still way too cheap. i use a houserule for my games that I always have to pay double in 1.4

or well this could be one of those things that could be adjusted with difficulty level, so "easy" should have much cheaper peacedeals etc. But on max difficulty, it definately NEEDS TO BE MORE - game is too easy
  6. How and when is death applied to player?

thats actually a great way to get a better character. start out normally until you can defeat noblemen parties, get married to a good character. now you just have to be evil, execute a few lords until your cruelty is high. then lose battles until executed and boom, high lvl character and good gear

only downside is that there is a bug - atleast in my campaign, that I cant do any diplomacy with other factions as the wife - peace is completely disabled from the dialogues.

but I kinda like the hardcore - war with everyone gamestyle, game is a bit too easy otherwise. Now I am really fighting for my life  great stuff!
  7. How and when is death applied to player?

I witnessed a streamer having his main character executed after a battle, his wife became the playable character immediatly after the animation. I don't think he was using any mods.

I don't think anybody on the stream understood why it happened. It was hilarious though.

    That sounds terribly familar

If you want to watch me continue adventures with the wife tune in to my stream

and to someone after this, no - not using any mods for death. So yes, you can be executed by the ai if you get captured. Pretty funny and cool

  8. End game is impossible.

It is not too hard, just posted about this in another thread. Difficulty is a matter of perspective and player ability / playstyle. I personally would prefer the game to be still harder than it is, especially peacedeals need to be more expensive and there needs to be a longer gap between recruitment of AI mercenary factions as these are way too strong a boost to your power.

Also we need new lords for AI factions if you cheese and execute all their heroes they are just defenseless.

I play with a set of houserules my self to make the game harder so it stays interesting for me.

if you feel its too hard, decrease difficulty? though I think they should add more options to customize the difficulty level.

was super great that 1.3 made the game more difficult though, would have propably quit playing out of boredom already otherwise. Great changes and great update!
  9. End game just became worse after the latest few updates?

To be honest, I don't think it's too hard, i manage realistic just fine combat wise. I think the problem is the game having non-functional features and broken concepts/mechanics. I was just asking to see if anyone else had a work-around since the game is still being ironed out by the devs, such as what kweassa was suggesting.

Or to put it this way, I feel like the game is not designed properly to allow one to create a kingdom and play on all the highest difficulties. If you are able to do so and conquer all of Calradia, I would love to learn from your experience, not sarcastic at all, being completely genuine if you are wondering.

You do make many good points and your perspective is valid, its just a bit different from mine - since I feel they have made changes to make lategame with your own kingdom now viable, before it was just 0% fun being too easy. It shouldn't be an easy task to conquer all of caradia, but a difficult one. The way I play the game is to make my own kingdom and to try to conquer it all, that is my main game goal everygame i play - I enjoy the strategic and tactical aspect of the game very much.

While I hope they will finetune and add to it, and make the ai smarter - especially in battles and sieges. Give us more features to play with and add on ones excisting - the game definately will benefit from this. But it is already with 1.3 patch actually a looot of fun to play the endgame as your own kingdom. But as I said, it still needs a few houserules to make it harder - atleast for me.

I think the game should have more sliders etc. that you can adjust difficult with to be to your liking - so for example you could also enjoy the endgame, and same time it could be even harder for someone like me. Though I do agree that I would prefer the difficulty increase in other ways than even more insta spawning hordes  it is still a good solution for the time being until there is a better one.

If you want to watch me play I do stream the games I play -

and definately we could also discuss how to improve it etc, I feel also this game could be 100 times better still. But even its current state its better than most games. I think the feature I miss the most is however a multiplayer campaign - being a competitive strategy gamer.

Btw in my current game, I have a bug where my character was executed - and my wife took over my kingdom. But for some reason I'm unable to make peace with anyone, so I've been fighting for a large part of the endgame with 0 option for peacing anyone. It is quite hard  but a lot of fun! (being at war with everyone with no peace option!)
  10. End game just became worse after the latest few updates?

    Hello butterlords,

So i ended up creating my own kingdom for the second time, after they implemented a bunch of the changes, like lowering enemy lord prisoner escape chance, truce time after peace etc., and as far as I can tell, end game feel worse now? It cost a whole lot more to barter for peace, (im seeing usually around 250k, not much of a drop for a long time, with Sturgia, who i've captured 3 towns and 3 castles from, and they still demand a crap ton although they are like being steamrolled by me.) Also, lords escape chance may be lowered, but there are automatic random barters that cause the lords to be ransomed and released (in relatively short time after their capture), rather than having me actually agree/disagree to the barter. I'm like at war with every kingdom, and i only have 3 towns and 3 castles. Money is easy to come by, but not when I have to constantly barter for peace at 250k a pop, to prevent myself from getting buttfu**** from every direction.

I thought we actually had a chance at end game, without having to chop every enemy lord's head off, but I guess it's still the only viable way to play at the moment? Or am i playing it the wrong way?

P.S.: I do know that it's likely i'm getting declared war upon because i own all the fiefs myself, and there aren't any other clans in my kingdom at the moment (i avoided persuading other lords in this play through, cause in my first playthrough they just kept defecting to other kingdoms after i pay them a bunch of money to join mine... kinda pointless), but i don't think that correlates to the underlying problem that lords are still being released/way too easy off the hook for being captured.

The whole system needs to consider warmongering better, and not just a truce period after peace. Enemy kingdom needs to consider that if their lord is getting captured continuously, they should start considering offering peace, (should be some sort of a measurement on them getting their asses handed to them) and not just magically have ransoms accepted.

Please let me know if yall have some different strategy or i'm just playing this game in absolutely the worst way possible.

(I am on all realistic mode so i can't really just go around 100 vs 500 even with elite units.)

if you feel its too hard, why not use an easier difficulty level? there should be a challenge at the max settings for everyone. Personally the game is still way too easy without houserules I use to make it harder. Like a few house rules I use #1 no recruiting mercenary factions more than 1 / 3 years #2 peacedeals - have to pay double what they ask #3 cannot peace factions that you have a quest war against #4 no executing enemy lords

those 4 being the main ones I use.

I mean I agree the system needs overall improving (and perhaps separate settings for those who prefer realistic but dont want to war as much), but it also still needs a higher difficulty setting.

Personally I feel before 1.3 the endgame was just completely not worth playing, now I actually have fun playing it and there is some challenge.
  11. Resolved GPU stops working in large battles Beta 1.3

This still happens badly if you have a siege battle where you use towers and ram / and its relatively big (lasts long) lag starts getting worse and worse bit by bit, until later it may freeze whole game and make you unable to finish the battle. Doesnt seem to happen ever if you have made holes in the wall with siege equipment. Maybe because the battle is shorter?
  12. Resolved CPU and GPU not used in siege battles near end

I have issue that in big siege battles about at the point when half the defenders are dead the game starts getting big freezes, which become longer and longer the more men die in the battle - and perhaps flee to the keep? To the point that frezes can last 1-10 seconds per freeze, so you are...
  13. Resolved Character executed by AI, unable to do diplomacy after this with AI with HEIR

also it seems I cannot take any castles from the ai  atleast havent yet, I'll update if it changes. :/ I have to give all castles / towns to my other clans.

edit. seems I can take castles  but other points stand
  14. Resolved Character executed by AI, unable to do diplomacy after this with AI with HEIR

I liked that now with 1.3 patch I got captured by the Vlandians, and they executed me - which was kinda cool  And then my wife (silvind) got to be the new ruler as my children were not of age yet. (I have my own kingdom) This was a really fun and interesting turn of events, but now the...
  15. Rapid strength growth of kingdoms in 1.3 beta?

Quit being aggressive for no reason mate
some people contribute in a constructive and positive way, while others - do not. positive way usually gets things forward better in life  and atleast makes people taking part in the process more happy. I'm personally enjoying this game a lot already and I'm very happy they are improving the present features too so I can keep on enjoying the game as it is, while I great anticipate and wait for all the new features that will come in the future.
  16. Rapid strength growth of kingdoms in 1.3 beta?

This is a huge problem but isn't the fact that sieges are advantaged to the attacker a symptom of a greater problem and not THE problem itself? I mean, isn't the issue that you designed a game all about war with tons of castles and towns to siege, where the AI is incapable of functioning in a balanced matter in the main core of your game? Shouldn't AI (formations, behavior, combat, dealing with elevation, etc etc) and siege design themselves be looked at?

It's not too late to go back and make a game that actually works on the core gameplay it was designed on. We're only in early access the game isn't complete now. It sounds like you guys are trying to "band aid" a problem but aren't looking at actually just making the core of the game (Combat, Battles, Sieges, the main content of the game) function as it should.

Sounds to me like they are working hard to make the "core" problems work even better, but because this takes a while and a lot of work they are giving us some "band aid" in the meantime. I fully salute their efforts and they are doing stellar on it and the "band aid" is perfect for the moment in my opinion! Thanks guys!
  17. Rapid strength growth of kingdoms in 1.3 beta?

While some are saying it’s too 'easy' others are saying it’s too 'hard' (or stay as was).
Maybe more modes, player to set…

    AI faction max troop limit.
    • Same as player.
    • 50% greater than player.
    • 100% greater than player.
    • 300% greater than player.
    AI Recruitment speed
    • Same as player.
    • 50% greater than player.
    • 100% greater than player.
    • 300% greater than player.
    AI troop quality
    • Same as player.
    • 50% greater than player.
    • 100% greater than player.
    • 300% greater than player.

agreed, some ways to make the ai harder is very good!
  18. Rapid strength growth of kingdoms in 1.3 beta?

    ^ This

Diplomacy really needs to be addressed first before any snowballing or economy fixes are even implemented. The AI isn't very good at knowing when to declare war/peace, there aren't much options for the player when it comes to war/peace to begin with. There's no alliances yet. Reputation/Relations with Lords currently does absolutely nothing as they'll still leave your Kingdom even with +100 Reputation/Relations with you and they sure don't mind declaring War on you even if they have good relations with you. Trying to balance the snowballing when the AI is so erratic/dumb is not going to help.

people still like to play the game though before the major diplomacy rework is introduced. and a small balance fix to buff the AI etc is not a big deal to do. Small balance tweaks etc don't take an enormous amount of time from the devs, but make a huge difference in the pleasure of playing the game in its current state.
  19. Resolved Bug with main quest "consiparacy / eliminate x faction"

When you have this quest and you declare war on all empire or all non empire major factions at the "endgame" the quest is coded to automatically periodically peace the AI factions with each other - it should be also coded to keep WAR status with the player in same way, but now instead the game...
  20. Rapid strength growth of kingdoms in 1.3 beta?

Super good work for devs on 1.3! it is the best update, yet finally the game is exciting and fun to play, and there are actually garrisons that are worth fighting against (siege battles were just a joke before 1.2, repetative and 0 challenge, just roll over), and not easy to kill - and Ai is actually a challenge, before it was 0 challenge.

Peace deals AI is asking more money also, should be even more - before it was a joke, so this is anyway a super good change.

Whoever feels game is too hard, maybe use easier difficulty? thats why there are different difficulty levels. But for me personally the game is/was utterly boring and repetative since there was no challenge before 1.3.

I wish only that they fix the graphics problem with 1.3 so big battles dont go 0,01FPS (when 1.2 they go 60fps)
