    Best-dressed Warrior

I would suggest that the best dressed warrior is the one that doesnt get killed! But I always had a soft-spot for full mail, although any form of plate armour is stunning and lammellar is just as gorgeous too.
As this thread is seems packed to the top with pretty knowledgable folks on armour and the like, perhaps you can help me with a question. What period and country does this helmet look like its from? Its a replica ofcourse, bought for hobby I shan't dare mention as I will be poleaxed! (*cough* larp* cough*)

According to this page, the Knights Hospitaller, at least, used it between 1250 to 1300.

And here, the left knight's mail coif looks like a beard!

I think not. An armet usually has a 'beak' as a part of the visor, and unless the camera angle deceives me, there is no beak here. And also, the visor part of the helm is much larger than in most helms I saw. (besides of armets.)

I think this might be that 'mysterious' closed helmet (not close helm) that I mentioned earlier.

That's an impressive suit of armour! And of course, my question will be - what kind of helm is this? (Seems like a close helm combined with a sallet.)
The (very realistic looking) horse's barding does not as good as the armour, but contributes to the general appearance.

    Post your battle cry

Here are some great lines I remember from strategy games: (not necessarily battle cries, but still.)

    Lords of the realm II:
    'We are British!' (crossbowman)
'We'll be shorn to pieces!' (peasant, while attacking)

    Empire Earth:
    'SIIIRE!!!' (probably some mediaeval unit).
'Saxon dogs!' (William the conquerer. while it is not so good, I remember I never figured out what he said until that one time, and because it sounds completely different than his voice acting in the campaign.)
'For honour and glory!' (probably knight.)
'For god and country!' (Probably pikeman)
'Attack, with sharpened steel!' (longsword, barbarian and probably others.)
'Blood and iron!' (Guess who? This could actually be used as a battle cry.)
'Leave them alone, you shvine! (swine.)' (Manfred, in the campaign.)

    Age of empires:
'Hayo! Hayo! Awonono! Awonono!' (of course, the priests. I even remember my friends invented a song about it.)

    Age of Empires II:
    'Heyaaaa?' and 'Yaaaaa?' (Gothic peasants)

    Battle for the Middle Earth:
'It's time to get serious!' (Merry, or possibly Pippin.)
'We are warriors of the Shire!' (Pippin.)
'They appear very unfriendly.' (Pippin, while attacking.)
'Can I have some bacon?' (Pippin.)
'Ssssshhhhht, keep it down, keep it down!' (Ithilien Ranger.)
'21, 22, 23' (Legolas, counting kills, of course. However, he says it too quickly even for himself.)
'We ride, for the glory of Gondor!' (Knight)

    Best medieval castles & fortifications

    The town of Montagnana's walls:
    Montagnana.jpg

Believe it or not, but I actually found it not by the internet, a book or television, but by wandering in a trip in Italy. At one moment, you are driving on a (beautiful) road, and a moment later, you are driving on a road while these walls surround you. Cool, isn't it?

insults of the mount and blade era.

    '[Thou liest,] thou shag-ear'd villain!'
Taken from Macbeth, said by MacDuff's (I just love this name) son.
In Hebrew, it was translated (complettely poorly, I assume) to 'You are a liar, a villain, and a hairy monkey!'

    Best-dressed Warrior

Well, I actually read the whole topic in order to check whether my suggestions were posted. Well, some of them were. I must be crazy if I actually did that, and the amount of plate armour I saw here may actually be considered too much.

Anyway, here are some of my favourites warrior outfits:

First, the whole page about the Knights Hospitaller in Wikipedia is full of pictures of the knights from all eras.
Just wanted to note that the left knight in this picture seems to have a steel beard on his aventail:
    HospitallersP8220790.JPG

Also, I saw the hoplites quite a lot in this topic, but the only impressive piece of equipment they had in my opinion is their Corinthian helm, which seems like an earlier version of the great helm, and seems to me like one of the first full face helms in history. (not shown with the image code because it is a little too big to be comfortable to look at, even with spoiler.)
    http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b7/Corinthian_helmet_Denda_Staatliche_Antikensammlungen_4330.jpg

Also, not a historic one, but one almost anyone knows:
    HolyGrail014.jpg

I am talking about the knight, not Arthur.
    No, not even Patsy!

And of course, the best looking warrior (if we are on the topic of animals again) is the Shetland Pony which I use for my avatar.

Now, if no one minds, (it seems to be the wrong topic for this, but the people who write here seem to be experts) I will ask a few questions: (About helms. I like helms.)
Does anyone knows whether there is a real life version of the Rhodoks full helm, and how is it called? Errr, not that I like this particular helm or something. I just want to know.
What is the name of a helm which seems to be a visored great helm. (It appeared on some gear pictures here, but I am too lazy in order to look through here AGAIN. The visor does seem a bit like a bellow visored sallet. Besides of the bellows.
Also, I saw that there is a helm called closed helmet, (not close helm) and it seems to be quite rare. Although, with this anachronistic seeming article, this helm might be just a hoax.

And another question, and not about a helm: (although still not much related to this topic)
What exactly is a jack of plate? It seems to me like a cheaper variety of brigandine.

[S] Epic Heraldry Mod for Warband

As far as I checked, this mod does not work on multi player battles. Is there any way to alter the mod so it works on one-on-one (players) multiplayer matches with bots? (So the bots get the heraldic clothes.)

    Post your battle cry

I shall say NI again if you do not please us!

Good one! However, I think I just found the ultimate battle cry:

'Ekke Ekke Ekke Ekke Ptang Zoo Boing Zowzm... Ni!'

Let's just hope it will not kill my enemies before my blade does.

    Post your battle cry

After looking (using the search option) through all pages here for the word 'monkey', I was shocked.

No one mentioned the insult sword-fighting from the Monkey Island series!
(Although the funniest ones are those said in response to your insult, and don't fit as battle cries.)

Mine, however, would not be that original, nor would it be brutal. I will prefer something like 'For his/her(/my) [ruler's title]!' Or 'For the glory of [country]!'

Also, there is the changing battle cry of 'Charge!!! Charge!!! Run away!!! Run away!!!' (Monty Python and the Holy Grail.)

    Questions about maps

Hullo, I am new here, I only started playing last week, and this game is already one of my favourites. I have questions about maps in the game, because I never found much information about them. So, here are my questions: 1. I never found any map folder in the warband folder, nor in the one...
