  1. Resolved (Public 1.2)Screen blackout

I can confirm this issue with zero mods.

I am not sure what causes it, but I noticed it will very rarely occur when I am in a tournament. For mine, a moment before it occurs, I see a flash (like a light bloom effect almost), so it might be a lighting error. All I can see is the faint outline of other character's hair and it did not resolve between rounds.

In one case, I was able to fix it by backing into a corner, swinging the camera into a wall.that did not have the issue. Once it "reset" by not having any black squares in view, I was able to turn around and the effect was gone.

    Occured on a GTX 1080.
  2. What do you want from the 1.1 patch?

The title says it all. It can be everything from the smallest of fixes to the implementation of entire systems.

Personally, I'd like to see the following:

    1) Lords spending more time in their castles/cities so that we can actually interact with them.
    2) Lords having their title displayed like in Warband.
    3) Lords actually giving out quests.
    4) A bunch of new city/village quests.
    5) A small buff to garrisons and/or militias.
    6) Fixing of perks.
    7. Moe suing of peace after a devastating battle. People have mentioned peasant armies getting massacred as they try to assault fiefs meaning that the AI might be a bit too aggressive, or not considering troop quality enough.

Bolded the ones I want the absolute most (after more stability/crash fixing, of course). At current, I feel like I have very little reason to interact with lords that don't have a blue ! above their name, and playing "Where's Waldo?" trying to find a specific lord as he marches CLEAR ACROSS THE MAP nowhere near his home territory is beyond tedious. There's almost no reason for me to even swing by castles because there's nobody EVER there.

On top of these, I'd like better responses to assaults; it seems like every time an attacking kingdom marches to take a city, MAYBE one lord shows up to defend. Maybe. Often it's not even the lord that owns the town or the nearby castles. And when they do lose cities, they don't even try to defend the remaining ones or ever seem to try to take them back.
  3. Ok seriously

The thought that a quest CAN expire is beyond stupid. You have my sympathy.

Wow, I didn't even know this. And here I am, just wanting to do a slow-build game where I can just tool around and RP being a merchant for a while before I try to rush straight to "end game" features.
  4. Getting married & starting a family as a female character

Just execute the clan leader, problem solved.

    I like this plan.

That'll show you to rebuff my advances and not acknowledge my superiority.
  5. This post will be hated.

I love how 90% of the community rushes them to release the game saying “we’d even just be happy with a graphical update of Warband!” then they finally accommodate and let us play the game early without all of its new features and we get these types of posts.

I get that it needs improvements and I agree with your thoughts on multiplayer but it’s not really “ridiculous”. Those sound like pretty easy fixes. They gave us three game modes with objectives and team based mechanics. It’s not their fault that people run around like idiots and don’t work together.

Implement a ranked mode and voice comms and those issues basically become obsolete.

    Seriously.

I am very happy with this release.

I am especially happy that I'm seeing updating roll almost every day -- and they're not little updates, but they're fairly substantial with plenty of crash fixes. It's pretty clear they are focusing on core development and they're doing development "the right way" (in my opinion). Too often do I see developers just pile on content and content and content, and eventually they simply can't fix anything because it's a roaring dumpster fire.

I like what the game is already.
  6. My thoughts on the Faction Snowball effect. Campaigns should go on forever!

So anyone tried a new game in 1.0.5 and test the snowballness of the patch?

It's still a massive issue, post-patch. Didn't seem to dent it at all.

I started a couple of new games after the patch and saw no improvement. In fact, I JUST started a new one this morning and decided to run around the towns looking for a particular companion. Before I even got through a handful of cities, I looked up and Battania had already taken all but 1 Southern Empire cities and has cut a huge wedge right right through the map. My game can't be more than 90 minutes old.

I'm probably going to restart if I don't see any of the cities being taken back -- but from what I can tell, all of the lords are just trotting around doing a whole lot of nothing.
  7. My thoughts on the Faction Snowball effect. Campaigns should go on forever!

Even after the newest update, the issue with Battania just steam-rolling through almost feels worse. I started a new game while at work yesterday, and not even 2-3 hours into the game, they had essentially wiped out one of the Empires. I restarted (SAME shift) with a whole new character, and lo' and behold, they did it again, again - less than 2 hours in. Both times they began their conquest by going for the same city, clear on the other side of the enemy kingdom.

I started to watch and noticed that the defending kingdom didn't seem to react much. Unlike in Warband, where you'd see a bit of tit-for-tat going on or nations would immediately attempt to retake their lost city, it just looks like the lords are riding around not doing much of anything.

I'm not sure what the 'solution' is, but I guess I could throw out some ideas.

Newly captured cities should have a high degree of unrest, requiring resources to control. If unrest becomes too high, various events may be triggered, such as riots (self-razing), revolts (an attempt to flip back to the original kingdom), and treachery events. Those might range from everything from "assassination attempts" to creating back doors for recapture sieges (giving huge bonuses to the original kingdom).

I also like the idea of the 'homeland' of a conquering kingdom to become unruly if the armies are spending too much time outside of it, including the spawning of new factions.
  8. For new players/Differences between Native and Pop

I've only been playing this mod for about two weeks.

I'm having a blast with it and there seems like there's so many different things to do.  I actually take a different approach, and go full mercantile so I can let others fight my battles for me.

If I were to nitpick about ONE feature in the game, it would be that I wish there were more "lowbie" quests and tasks to do, especially for towns.  Even looters or bands of local ruffians or whatever are often on-par with a small warband, and I've come up on villages with "15 bandits" in them only to find out that half of them are actually tanky calvalry they're already in the middle of you 6 seconds into the scene.

I like planning and taking on the challenges the mod provides; sometimes I want a "cool down" period though! lol
