Zendar, mostly because of the River Pirates quest: easy and most needed money for any kind of beginning character.

    A revelation for Native?

On-Topic, good idea but I dont think armagan will take suggestions at storyline, if he will implement one.

Perhaps not, but if alter this suggestion a bit, you could turn it into a quest: 'Find out dirty secrets of enemy lord to blackmail him'. You would have to infiltrate his castle, attempt to talk to his wife/child[ren]/servants/... and persuade them into telling you something by doing small quests for them. When you give the information to your lord, he could try to blackmail him into joining your side, or into giving gold.

Anyway, back to the original suggestion: I wholeheartedly support it. I would suggest you prove your worthiness to the disheartened soldiers somehow though. Either by fighting ( with blunt weapons, like in the arenas ) with their best fighter, or by doing whatever they ask you to do ( solving a riddle for instance, to see if you are intelligent enough ). Also, when you gain too much influence and soldiers, there should be a risque of the Swadian and Vaegir king teaming up against you.

So for for the ideas, now for the implementation ...

    Battle Talley

Well, you could have tried searching for 'Battle Summary', which would have let you to these threads:
    http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,9193.0.html
    http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,5951.0.html
Having posted that, I do agree that people get flamed [too] often instead of being encouraged to post. Nicely pointing out that something has already been suggested seems rather rare. Also, Matula, you could try to make a 'Consolidated suggestions'-thread, but you'll probably find it hard to get them all on one list. Anyway, for the sake of discussion, I like the idea, but I don't really find it that important. I don't really need to know how bad my soldiers actually are in combat, or how many arrows I wasted during the battle. If I want to know how many enemies I killed, I just count them. There are probably more important things on the 'to do'-list, although this would be nice to have in the final version.

    Whos side are you on

I have to ask this now though, is it a shame to use a bow as a Vaegir? You, Naridill, always brag about your axe, but I very much prefer my bow and great sword. The bow solely for shooting the horses from under their shiny boots of course.

Well yes, but who doesn't exaggerate when arguing.  It's still an improvement over how it is now, with no change necessary whatsoever. I've been fighting with a bow and a great sword since .632 and still the enemy doesn't get close to me.

Is it the better "fighters" on the forum are Vaegir, or the squeakiest wheels?  Lots of noise does not a fighter make (this from a recruit).  Maybe the masterful Swadian powerhouses here are all content and secure in their own prowess, and don't need to smack around empty barrels to scare the easily frightened.

Oh no, they find it much more scarier to lock themselves up in their castles, instead of the dangers of living on the street. The houses of Swadia may once have been strong, thus creating the reputation necessary to keep everyone in check, but that time is long since over. Do you not face the problems of desertion? All the more reason to believe the soldiers have lost confidence in their leaders. We Vaegirs desert as well, but rather because are leaders can't reach the enemy fast enough in large parties!

I have to agree on the troops thing though, if Vaegirs are superior, the challenge lies with the Swadians.

    Technological advances in M&B

Yes, it tends to become quite boring after 60 days, but this would improve that! Instead of having the same items over and over again, new ones will arrive, and with them new troops who uses them. That way the game won't just be challenging in the beginning, when you're low on experience and money, but it will be challenging throughout the whole game. Imagine being used to ride on horses, when a new kind of spear is developed. Or being used to wear heavy armour, when firearms are developed. You'd have to change tactics constantly ( in the best case, I admit the combat system doesn't provide a lot of challenges, no matter what type of weapon ). I very much like the idea, especially raiding foreign caravans to get new items early and the quests that come with those caravans.

Here's something for you that clearly shows that the Vaegirs are the best.

The most badass fighters on this forum are all Vaegirs. Tells you something, doesn't it? Especially coupled with those nice little tests we did a while back that showed that Vaegirs troops beat Swadian troops almost completely.

Pardon me for arguing with a fellow Vaegir ( then again, that's what we did before the war, right? ), but how do you who's good at fighting and who isn't? I haven't done any tests myself, but I can accept that Vaegir troops are better ( obviously  ), they have more mobility with their light armours than those heavy packed Swadians. Serves them right, with their enormous wealth!

Am I the only one who tries to argue with logic? Just look at what I said to Rathyr--you twist the truth. What leads you to believe that Swadians outnumber the Vaegir 5 to 1 when the war parties are all around the same size? The enitre part I quoted above could be said by me to the Vaegirs. You have no concrete proof in your posts.

Of course you are! I thought the whole point of this topic was to have a laugh. If not, then I should definitely start taking things more serious. Naturally you're right, but that doesn't stop me from making up ridiculous arguments. We have no idea who's fault the war is, as Armagan has not yet written the complete history of Calradia. For all we know the Vaegirs and the Swadians are in fact the same, but by some evil twist if fate got separated.

I just realised I am a Knight-at-arms! Clearly I was promoted because of my prowess in defending Swadia.

Congratulations, although I'm sure they did that to keep your morale up!

You do realise that just about every Medieval nation was out to get its neighbor's lands? Besides, the Vaegirs haven't been fighting a defensive war...
"Don't attack us! Let us go back to peacefully fighting amongst our selves!"

Is that the argument that's supposed to justify the war?  "Everyone does it, so why shouldn't we?" We at least knew we had honourable opponents when we were fighting each other. Now it's just a whole bunch of Swadians on horses, outnumbering is 5 to 1. If you were even half decent, you'd select your best soldier, have him fight ours and be done with it! We all know who'd win of course.

    Temporary fix for noblemen quests

True, but I suppose most battles are frustrating when they're not going the way you want them to go. However, it would be nice to see the nobleman surrender when most of his party is destroyed. At the start of the battle he'd just fight you as usually, but when he has only 1 or 2 knights left to protect him, a window should come up, with the options of accepting the nobleman's surrender or to continue fighting. That way you'd have a slight chance of capturing him without having to switch to a blunt weapon. Your soldiers could of course still kill him, but that just adds to the realism.

And after they're trampled into the Calradian dirt, we can get back to the task at hand - bringing the Vaegir rebel secessionist vipers back into the benevolent, honorable and lucrative Swadian hegemony.  As an inferior race, Vaegirs are not completely capable of running their own society, and need the guiding Swadian hand to lead a fulfilling, peaceful life.  The Swadians will make sure they are well cared for and have plenty of work to do to keep them out of trouble.  If they were to successfully break away (perish the thought), it would only be a short time before they would fall to killing each other, forcing their kindly neighbors (the Swadians, again) to come in and pick up the pieces.  Swadians only want the best for their wayward Vaegir friends - peace, prosperity, trade, slavery servitude honest work.

Then help us by trading your knowledge and counsel, but don't just invade our country! I see the Swadians for what they really are: land-thieving scoundrels, who want only to take our raw materials for themselves so that they can be even more richer! Thus you tell everyone we Vaegirs are barbarians, making sure everyone thinks this war is justified! Tcha! Keep your empty words and leave us, so we can go back fight amongst ourselves!

    Temporary fix for noblemen quests

Then again, where would the challenge be when you can just use you're best weapon, regardless of its type of damage, on him? I think it's much more realistic the way it is now, with the risque of killing the nobleman accidentally. It makes the quest a bit harder, which for me makes the game more enjoyable. After all, who likes a game that's too easy? Of course, as you said, choosing the equipment of your troops would be awesome, but for now I'm quite happy with the way it is now.
