I love the smithing, my most powerfull creating is a 166 dmg 2h XD basicly kills 99% of the foes i hit in the first blow!

But i agree that its weird that you leanr spear, axe etc from making a 1h blade.

Also i hope they fix the crafted 1h weapons so that you hold on the handle and not on the hand guard
toying around with different handles and blades has given me some good ones that dont hold it by the pommel rofl
  2. What can I do now? :/ the complete map is under controle of the southern empire

Start over. Too bad you cant use your old character in a new playthrough anymore, would be nice to not have to start at 0 every daily patch
theres a mod on nexus site that allows you to export characters
  3. What performance are you guys getting?

2080, 16gb ram, 8600k here, above 500 battles i am getting pretty poor fps as well.
between the memory leaks, and the fact that this game is an absolute CPU hog and doesnt really use multiple cores/threads this isn't surprising. I imagine even people with 9900K's and twin 2080TI's will have trouble maintaining a stable fps at 1440p-4K settings. 1. The memory leaks are big big thing and will continue to be patched up bit by bit and optimization will be continuously worked on optimizing a game like this is a herculean task even for a AAA studio (hell most AAA studios still do piss poor jobs at optimizing their games)

This is the sort of game that any amount of hardware will have a hard time brute forcing like I said im running a 2080TI, 8700K and 32gb of RAM and I still see sub 30fps in sieges, no so much in field battles no matter the size but in city sieges where theres lots of men bunched up into a small space? Oh yeah man **** slaughters.

Streamers with NASA level super computers were seeing heavy FPS loss in sieges as well so give tale worlds a bit more time to patch up all the bugs and address the memory leaks, make sure you're drivers are always up to date, turn off dynamic shadows it helps a good deal, stick to around 500 man battles and if you can bring yourself to do it give up a few others graphics settings you dont really notice (drop anti-aliasing a bit maybe, particle quality as well, sky/water quality since you spend next to 0 time looking at that). cap the FPS at 60 probably if you want some semblance of stability.

Other than that try some light overclocking make sure your XMP profiles are turned on and use EVGA precision x1 and uncap the power limit on your GPU a bit set a decent fan curve and adjust the core and memory clocks a bit and you might see some better performance but all in all its in tale worlds ballpark now, twin titan RTXs and an Xeon8180 10000 dollar CPU couldnt brute force solid frames out of unoptimized messes like this rn ^^.
  4. Any info on the kids?

Okay so.... idk why people are complaining about a children-heir system in a game about founding a dynasty and forming a kingdom or helping another kingdom rise to prevalence, political marriages and producing heirs was an important part of politics since always and this game is supposed to emulate that particular time period in a low-fantasy world. I for one, love the idea of bearing heirs its not as if the children themselves require you to do anything you p much just leave them at your castle until they grow up assuming theyre being raised by the mother and castle staff and go on about your merry way. This game is about a new clans rise to prevalence in a politically divided world itd be weird if you didnt you know...expand your lineage.

If people are already making mods for Bannerlord, then in my opinion, this indicates that the devs have done a s**t job at creating an actually playable game, so that the players themselves have to fix it before it's even off the f***ing early release.
I mean, not entirely? They released the EA with mod tools fully and readily available for everyone to use, if the tools are there people will use them. Now for all intents and purposes the smithing system is playable its just annoying so a modder offered an alternative. The game itself is fine and playable for the most part but they released it with mod tools available so of course the nexus community is going to use them, they did this to avoid the pitfall that happened with Kingdom Come Deliverance where everyone was hyped af for the modding community to do its thing but they took so long to actually release useable tools that by the time they released them nobody gave a **** anymore. Taleworlds did the opposite and released the game from the gate with tools, even the multiplayer beta had mods.
  6. Smithing Discussion

its stupid. i was curious about smithing so i cheated my smithing to max level and got ALL the perks, even both perks from the same tier level. i then went and cheated my endurance to never move down so i didnt need to rest. i then cheated myself like 20 copies of each weapon and ridiculous amounts of charcoal. i then used my modded mouse to macro left clicking by just holding an extra mouse button down which results in insanely fast clicking. i must have smelted 1000's of weapons... the result? not even worth mentioning. 90+% of the smithing parts are still not learned, i dont know how many new parts i learnt but it must have been so low as i didnt even notice a difference. maybe 10 ?

If anything the more points and levels you have in smithing should make it EASIER to learn new parts, not harder. it makes no sense. looks like im going to have to cheat my smithing level back down and do it all again. and then learn that way, and then cheat it down again.... rinse and repeat. i bet the weapons i can make wont even be worth it though lmao
there are mods on the nexus to make this easier I have found
  7. What performance are you guys getting?

hell even if you were running a top line Threadripper build with the 8 RAM socket and like 128 gb of 4000mhz RAM and dual Titan RTX's you STILL probably wouldnt be seeing a constant 60 fps on an unoptimized and still in need of work game like this, I mean youll come closer than everyone else but still.
  8. What performance are you guys getting?

Well guys the thing you have to face is that this game is going to be very CPU dependent no matter what you do, im running an i78700K, 2080TI, 32gb of 3200mhz RAM on Z370 Carbon Gaming Pro MSI Motherboard one 250gb SSD but I keep bannerlord on my HDD as tbh i didnt notice an improvement on the SSD even with loading screens when I switched it over for experimenting. Now field battles run smooth as butter seemingly no matter how many troops I put on them but siege battles particularly in larger cities instead of just castles I sometimes see sub 30fps at 1440P resolution, turning off dynamic shadows and some other settings helped to curb this but it still occurs. Now yes I know we dont buy 1200 dollar graphics cards to turn down settings but unless you have a ****ing LGA 2066 Socket top of the line CPU with 64 gb of 4000 mhz RAM and dual 2080TIs you probably wont be running at a constant 60-144 FPS during big siege battles at 1440p resolution its just unrealistic between the games optimization and the actual limitations of hardware.
  9. Character import/export

Why was this not included? It seems like a really big no brainer especially with the Early Access and the fact that the constant updates will often render saves inert and force people to start over even if theyve put in tons of hours into a save it seems like an easy way to circumvent this...
  10. Smithing Discussion

so ive noticed that the higher level you are in smithing the less often you discover new parts for weapons from smelting, I cant help but feel this is a bug but maybe its intentional? Either way I think the requirements for discovering smithing parts just being randomized from smelting and...
  11. Awful textures

I mean, meh? The point of the game is mostly centered around mass combat and creating your dynasty id rather they focus on flushing out mechanics than just building more eyecandy.
  12. Honest Discussion- Issues with features that were not included with release

so apparently I was *completely* off guys and ive never been more delighted, my wife has gotten pregger
  13. Honest Discussion- Issues with features that were not included with release

yeah i also wish the console worked so I could play around a bit more before investing in a save game but eh
  14. Honest Discussion- Issues with features that were not included with release

Well to be fair, thats only saying "some parts may be missing, some don't".
I understand that they maybe didn't knew what would be ready for EA, but it is out now.
Would be nice to know what exactly is out now.

Its unnecessary frustrating when you try to figure out something, maybe report it as a bug at some point, just to see
that its something that is not done yet.
yeah like I said followering the quest line it gives you at the beginning does you some massive favors for answering questions, I got distracted when I started early early this morning and kind of boned myself on that main quest so i started over and focused on that quest and answered alot of questions I wont spoil the quest line itself but yeah.
  15. Honest Discussion- Issues with features that were not included with release

It's on the steam page Early Access information <3 the part about single player says: "Singleplayer Features: Several planned single player features may be missing or incomplete. These include but are not limited to: full game controller support, some skill and perk effects, crafting, some aspects of sieges, and clan, army and kingdom management. "
oof im just blind however I do think kingdom management may be in there and its linked to the main quest, I wont do any spoilers but I just finished the first part of the main quest and it basically told me whats up so i will retconn the post upon seeing what is up
  16. Honest Discussion- Issues with features that were not included with release

Yea those features are indeed missing, but they did address that kingdom management (even creation) and some clan features (including the heir system afaik) is not in EA on day one when they announced the EA
I think they also noted a couple other features, but in general it should be the late game stuff that's missing. Their blogs/announcements are still up if you need the complete list.
yeah i cant find that announcement anywhere checking either taleworlds site or steam

huh I must have missed that announcement ill take a look at it thanks
  18. Bannerlord SP First Reactions: Megathread

its good so far but I just wish that starting your own kingdom and having children were included, ive done a forum post so we can have a discussion about it.
  19. Honest Discussion- Issues with features that were not included with release

Now let me preface this by saying so far, I love it, combat is smooth and fun, the game is well optimized or at the very least my hardware is over the top for the game so im brute forcing good performance maybe? (8700k, 32gb RAM, and a 2080TI). Either way I love it however, the thing I want to...
  20. Ehh refunded it.

what are you on about? Ive had barely any hiccup lag on a 8700k, 2080ti and 32gb of RAM. It happens but rarely and usually only when loading large amounts of actors this game is well optimized even warband doesnt perform this well with large amounts of actors on the field
