    I've verified the game files, nothing was wrong there, but I've also had a look at Pryndor et al again and the problem is resolved. Perhaps the verification smoothed it out.

    @elysebluemoon Could this please be moved to solved, in case anyone else is gets the problem and needs to know the fix?

    @elysebluemoon I've had this issue too, but it happened when I saved and quit, then reloaded. Any time I've taken the quest and gotten the weapons in the same gaming session it's been fine. I'm on v1.3.0beta

    I too have never seen a companion death due to battle, even when they are listed as dead in the post-battle report. I assume they haven't implemented it yet.

    I'm getting this problem too in E1.0.9. To get around it in the short term, I'm determining which characters I want in which roles, then using just the right arrow to set them in this order:
    1. Surgeon
    2. Quartermaster
    3. Engineer
    4. Scout
