  1. How can castles be made important in your opinion?

Yep. Is kinda absurd that in order to keep a big garrison + troops you need to spam battles. If you firm peace, you need to enter in war again to keep farming money.

This is a big issue since you only have 2 ways to avoid this:

    - Pasive income that is basically non existant. Workshops + caravans are far from enough.
    - Smithing, that is basically break the game, I prefer to avoid it.
  2. Beta Patch Notes v1.2.0-v1.2.4

Hope they hotfix companions roles atleast.

You are forced to play full int character. Is totally game breaking and should be easy to fix.
  3. Progression: the Drug of Any Game - and something Bannerlord Needs a LOT more of...

Modders... bring us back that motivation to play.

This is one of the main aspects that made POP mod so popular.

Adding so many groups of varying difficulty and super strong single combats keeps the need to progress to be able to face more powerful groups without failing in the attempt.

On the other hand, the system of qualis gems forces you to farm to access unique items or get more powerful troops.

And the custom order system allows you that almost infinite progression to rival even the noldors.

There are simply so many options that add soul to the game and a sense to keep putting in the hours beyond getting into a loop of conquering all the castles and feeling like you're doing the same thing over and over again.

Supposedly Taleworlds prefers to turn it into a battle simulator rather than an RPG, but given the somewhat poor AI behavior and general malfunctioning of basic behaviors like horses or spearmen, complete superiority of archers, paper armor... does not fulfill this role adequately. Battles are far from being polished in order to be the main attraction of Bannerlord.

The game need to focus on the other aspects aswell to create an enjoyable experience. Balance is the way to go, too much of anything is tiring.
  4. What's wrong with faces and why they looked better in 2016?

It was one of the things that caught my attention the most since day 1. If there is one word to describe the faces it is aberrant.

The eyes of all the characters are scary and the smiles look like something out of a serial killer. It certainly doesn't meet even the minimum standards that I would demand from a game at this time of year, just a few days before its full release.

All the characters are totally lacking in personality or distinctive facial cues, they are clones competing to be uglier or the weirdest.

I hope this is something mods can fix, because it totally breaks the immersion of the game.
  5. Do you think smithing skill should be removed?

I would never remove that mechanic. Even if Taleword doesn't achieve a functional/inmersive smithing, I am sure mods will. Total conversion mods can make it shine like crazy. Even adding unique lategame items making them hard to make grinding a bunch of special materials looting world bosses or whatever.
  6. Female troops and same Same-sex marriage

Holly molly.... This inclusive wave is going too far.

Lets add all collectives then aswell so every little group around the world is happy.

This is a medieval game, so it must behave like that. Inclusion affairs are far above the scope of the game and are totally unnecessary/immersion breaking.

Lets focus resources on what matters.

Mods exist to create thoose changes.

Hi, I just wanted to thank you for your hard work. Maybe you are working on a section that goes somewhat unnoticed, since it doesn't affect the gameplay that much. But it is noticeable how you are working hard outside your schedule gathering information and I think you are the developer who is...
  8. Idea: A Comprehensive, Polite and Well Reasoned Letter of Dissatisfaction to Taleworlds?

There are forum members who have been providing feedback for years in a quite polite manner.

We also have dozens of well-structured posts with the changes that most of us want, groupings of suggestions of incredible quality and depth ...

What Taleworlds wants to change they will, and what they don't, they won't. At this point I don't think we can do anything more than warn about bugs and try to get them to accept minor suggestions while they finish their own roadmap.
  9. POLL: Why do the TW Devs hurt us?

I continue to reaffirm the same. Taleworld's problems are far from being the fault of the developers. They are hard-working people, with good ideas, and for the most part, they are on our side.

The thing is that they don't decide the work priorities and what to include in the game.
  10. Beta Patch Notes e1.5.10

They (Dejan, Duh, mexxico, Signalize) already do.

At any rate, digging in through a fee hours over the weekend: education still feels pretty limp-wristed. Those +5s per phase do not impress me. If we're going to face mortality with our main character, the least they can do is allow education to boost our heir to the status of a decent premade. If they don't want perfectly controlled successors for whatever reason, maybe just boost the random event's impact to 25-75 points in a particular skill? You can still nudge towards what you want but also possibly get lucky with a truly beastmode heir in one stat.
There are many developers/CMs who read the forum daily, even on weekends, and are aware of almost all comments. The problem is not that the suggestions don't reach the developers, but that the decision makers reject most of them. Bottom line, the interests of the heads of the company are not aligned with the players. This situation wont change cleaning a little the forum.
  11. Would you prefer more micromanagement options?

More options does not mean greater difficulty.

I think it is perfectly compatible with a game suitable for casual gamers while satisfying the requirements of depth and rpg elements.

Aside from increasing the depth of a game, the fast track to becoming a battle and grind simulator will always be present and viable to conquer the world.

Just as always, I think we have a clear mod bias. Warband vanilla was a pretty simple game. Its formula worked well and gave some more room for immersion, but it completely lacked advanced microgestion.
  12. Beta Patch Notes e1.5.10

What do you guys think of my idea. Would you think a 24 hour delay for the beta branch for some of the community to perform a one day test to catch "critical" problems, not stupid bugs, but the 1.5.8 and 1.5.10 memory leaks or a massive game crash that could effect everyone. I think it is a small price to pay to avoid getting a beta branch again that is a disaster.
I don't think that could change anything.

They already prevent from releasing beta branch on fridays in order to fix thoose critical problems before weekend.

The reason of beta branch is just test it out before make it main branch. So it would be like a beta of a beta on a EA, kinda redundant.

People that dont want critical bugs just avoid beta branch.

And is supposed to be tested out by Taleworld internally before launch to beta branch in order to prevent thoose critical ones already.
  13. Were our expectations to high?

My expectations were high around 2016. Once I realised how the game was being delayed over and over, started to smell weird.

Now Is a hate/love relation. QoL is on another level, they created an awesome template, but not even close to be a good game.

My expectations are just to polish that template improving AI, performance and making the game as friendly as possible to modders.

Taleworld clearly pointed that they wont make a game for hardcore players, the main goal is a battle simulator friendly to casual players. And this forum is plenty of Mount and blade lovers/hardcore players that want to play over and over the game, so I guess must be a minority.

According last sentence, we can just wait for modders, that are as hardcore as us, to create thoose wonderful total conversion mods.

I don't think taleworld can satisfy forum community according their priorities.
  14. King Harlaus > Bannerlord: what is this game missing?

    Everything is missing.

Added mechanics are broken. AI is a mess. Narrative really sucks, it simply doesnt exists. RPG is missing...

They only improved graphics and took almost nothing from mods. And even that graphics improvement, is not enought for a 2021 game.

Animations are a mess, faces are horrible, and when they face a wall developing interesting features, they drop it.

Dunno, warband is my favourite game (thanks mods ofc), but bannerlord is not even close. Lets pray modders, as always.

Its simply sad to see perfect ideas daily to fix the game being ignored or rejected by the ones who make decisions. Far from being a developers problem.

Wrong decision making, and wrong organization are destroying this gem.
  15. If not Bannerlord .......... then what is the current " best MB experience " ?

In my case Propeshy of Pendor is close to all my hours on Warband.

I tried to get into other mods, but I simply cant love them after playing PoP.

I feel I can always improve, and I love it.

I know there a lot of good mods out there, but no one trapped me as PoP.
  16. After a 1.5.10 Play-through, here are my thoughts

My actual state is I wont plan to play vanilla Bannerlord ever.

Just waiting for Total conversion mods.

I feel sometimes they are laughing in our face.

You create a better engine, thats ok... and then?

You have tons of successful mods to inspire, you even have a community talking about the problems and solutions 24/7, the community that will buy your games, and you took almost 1 decade and more than 1 year on EA.

The result is a warband with better graphics, less rpg and less enyoyable since core mechanics are broken and lack of meaning.

And the only gamechanger mechanics such as make towns into castles.... abandoned for their complexity (y). Anyways, castles are useless so... would be bad anyways.

Is sad, but I simply cant trust them anymore. So I can just cheer modders to create more incredible mods such as PoP.
  17. [Poll] Bannerlord Reforged

Is kinda weird to ask for a reforge edition when the game is not even Out.

Anyways, if TW failed delivering what people wanted despite all the feedback, I dont see any reason to see them succeed on a reforged edition.

Modders are the ones that hard carried warband, and they will do it again with bannerlord. Sad, but a fact.
  18. Land Battle artillery

    Personally, no.

Would be too op or too useless, I cant see a balance on open land.

A lot of work to implement them on a decent way, and I would like to use that effort on multiple others fields.

I prefer to keep them as walll destroyers and little deffense on sieges.

Improve IA preventing them to be a perma hack and slash without valuing life would be the best way to enchance battle experience in my opinion.
  19. How old are you, and how much you love this game?

    I am 26.

I love this game because it has some magic that not a single game can offer me.

I remember to love Rise & Fall, my favourite strategy game of all times due be able to control a hero in first person. And this game revived that experience again in a much better way.

I really miss rpg and complexity on the game, and I am sure that there are many ways to create this game on a better way, but thats where mods go into action, creating master pieces such as Propeshy of Pendor, that offer me hundred of hours and replayability.

This is simply the only single player game I can play forever and not being bored about it. But I must admit that is 99% thanks mods.

Disclaimer: I am talking about warband mostly, since I dont want to test out bannerlord until it goes out from EA. Still need more content and rpg components to get into the game, I see it atm a fast battle pace action game more than a Strategy game.
  20. In the new year TaleWorlds should put out a revised update about their plans and timings for the game

March isn't going to be the end of EA. I mean, obviously.

So the community really should be updated with new and revised plans for 2021 from TW.

    Right?

Clearly, since Soon is the most important meme on this forum, I don't think we need more dates. I mean, We should be playing this game on 2016 according earlier dates.

What we need is a clear roadmap and thoughts about what they want to achieve on this product.

But in the case they will just to add rebelions, child learning and some balances, they wont tell us, so, this post will go nowhere, as always.
