  1. 2h units are useless unless archers get nerfed

    i think its a general problem with Unit behaviour in formations most evidently the Shieldwall were the Shields despite our Character Yelling "Shields forward" are often staying back because some Pikemen or recruit decided to stay in the first row and die,

    as for 2 H units in general if they get in melee they are extremely deadly and feel alright at the moment (except for some no sense progressions like Ulfheds throwing aways their Armor)

    and the Archers well they need a rework cause on one Hand you have the rather balanced Crossbowmen (scarce Ammo but deadly) on the other Hand you have Battanian Fians (aka Bowgods incaranate with lots of Ammo) and inbetween you have medium usefull regular Archers with a lack of Flavor and questionable effefiency against anything not beign a Peasant army
  2. The Sturgians look ridiculous

    what i dont get (some ugly pelts aside) is some of the armor changes and equipment the units use in the troop tree for example Archers and berserkers throwing away their Chainmail or the Schock Troops carrying sword Shield and a 2 handed Spear while the entire line had 1 handed Spears and were usefull as Shieldwall and then you get shocks which cant do it, they also should exchange their names with the Veterans as they are no Schock Troops at all
  3. Does anyone else think spears are utterly useless?

    personally while spears need a bit more staggering and pushing back the bigger problem i see with the Units, you have things like the Sturgian Shock troopers which have spear and Shield but cant use both together and with that become pretty meh as a shield wall and are not good in other roles too, the next part is unit behaviour they rarely actually use their spears to stop things often cav charge through Spearmen because they dont even intend to stop them and after that comes the rank they have in formations normally you would expected pikemen to take the rear ranks first because of their rach and anyone with a shield in the front but currently its often the opposite and they seem also not to want to attack "through" their allys very often negating again their range advantage
  4. How big armies u saw?

    ca. 1600 with the Empire for me, led to a hell of a fight with my 600 Elites against the peasants but it was extremely fun too
  5. Seige

    depends on the difficulty (aka how tough are your guys) and highly troops you are using things like berserkers and any other pure attack no defense Unit excels at ladder Assaults (on light difficulty 100 zerkers actually Murder 400+ Defeners as soon as the are on the wall), while shiledwalls are great for rams etc

    and currently it does not seem that we have much control of unit composition of our attackers very funny seeing your fians charge ladders while your bersekers stick witrh the rams... while the opposite would make far more sense making it a bit harder too

    and important is also to make yourself the Quartermaster as you improve your Unit size and steward with that better then any Companion can
  6. Should we be able to marry Rhagaea

    personaly you should be able to marry her if you are powerfull enough but at the same time that should be true for her Daughter too cause if you marry her Daughter you should become the de facto Ruler of the Western Empire and kind of ursurp the Mother as you just took her biggest claim to power away actually thinking about it both is a nice way for Larger story Campaign
  7. New factions?

    personaly iwould like to see the current minor factions introduced properly more first before going farther same with having them as cultures (i really want to play Nord Raider/Merc), as for Asian Nations problem here would be the large distance to a potential Asian nation i mean when the game is fully done and out of EA having a Silk Road DLC or something like doing a Vinland expedition could be great but the implementation seems hard
  8. [Shield] Directional Blocking

    from my eperience the Shield block when it is hit no matter which side you block (like it should), biggest factor in that is of course Shield size the Larger the better, i rarely had strikes ignoring it and that seemed to be a bug as it often came from the same direction of the shield but those were extremely rare
  9. Is anyone happy with the Horse as loot drop rate reduction?

    For me it feels partly right not getting millions of Camels, it also seems that now i get better loot but then again regular warhorses should be far cheaper as 1-2k extra per heavy cav is not great and far too expensive especially considering that you will loose them regularly when Ai troop composition (no pure peasant Armys) and usage is fixed (aka ignore the lone general behind us and focus on the Charging Berserkers).

    In my opinion we should have very expensive high quality horses for rulers too, i also would like to see the ability of horse breeding as an activity which woud make a nice Pasttime for rich Players.
  10. Non-polearm mounted combat is basically useless

    In my opinion mounted combat feels a bit clunky and weird compared to warband especially with 1H Weapons and it influence AI controlled Cav to.
    The Main issues for that i see in:
    1: Lance length and griping, some lances are too short or griped somewhere in the middle instead of the end which makes their range when couching too short and Ai Cav does rarely use couching at all
    2: generall hit detection, sometimes it weird you hit somebody with your lance in the body and kill his horse or your sword passes through someone and does no damage, you can see similar behavior from the AI Cav too this is especially bad with 1 Handed Swords which often dont hit.
    3: many AI 1H Cav seems to have way too short swords
    4: Character Size: seemingly having a larger then Standard Height has bad influence on mounted Combat as hitting stuff becomes harder with 1H Weapind and you need far longer swords then Normal
    5: Weapon length is far too important making things like Maces and axes often even worse too use on horseback as they have a length below 100 in most cases
