  1. Starting your own faction

There are different ways to do it. The easiest way (in my opinion) is to capture as many castles/cities (preferably the latter) and ask the king to award them to you. Some day, he won't do it anymore and you can keep all those fiefs for yourself while breaking free. Huzzah!

The faster way would be to support the claimant of Vaegir (Valedym the Bastard Prince as far as I recall) and then tell him that you can't help him anymore with the rebellion, so you are the "king" of the rebel faction. Mind you, this only works when you have a castle/city already and you will loose a lot of honor.

I think if you play as female, you can also ask your husband to start a rebellion, but I never tried that. Seems interesting though...
  2. Change Player Faction Color

    Sethlans 说:
It did work for me. I posted it here after I started a new game and was able to get 'Feldgrau' as my color. I don't think changing the 'Player's_Supporters' reference matters much, as the 'Presentations.txt' reference seems to override it.

Yes it really works in a great way, finally I can get rid of that annoying bloody red  I haven't found any info on how I could actually get such a "color code", the website posted earlier in this thread only offers RGB and HEX color codes, which both don't work in the  presentations.txt . Well they do work, but I only get blueish colors...Does anybody know how I could get a yellowish tone? What would be the code for it? Thanks for your answer
  3. kingdom colour?

Wow I can't believe this really works. The only problem I have with it is that I have no idea how the color codes are actually made. At first sight I thought it were Microsoft Access codes, but after trying out a yellow tone and getting a blue one I doubt it works this way then. Anyone knows how I could change it into a yellow color?

    And great find btw
  4. stuck on 'rescue and ransom' quest

It's much funnier if you are not part of the faction the prisoner belongs to (and you have no quest) and then try to free him. Why? He'll spawn as an enemy, knock you down and proceed with being held captive
  5. Wondering if the AI has a stick up its butt...

Yeah I find it pretty weird too. I've had cities with 400 men in it, while castles we just got from an enemy faction had nearly no garrison at all, still the enemies never stopped sieging my castle (which was btw Praven, which actually NEVER got sieged before but the one time I got it). It's ridiculous and I can't find any explanation why it works this way :/
  6. kingdom colour?

Is it possible to change the colour of my own kingdom after all? Has anybody managed to do that in any way and if so, how? If not, is there any hope that this might be changed in (the near) future, in a mod or in native?

It IS possible but insanely hard to do. The problem is that the colour of your own kingdom is actually determined by several points in different scripts, making it hard to change it. I've seen mods do it but I never actually got around to change it. I've tried everything and I really wish somebody could fix this annoying bloody red which really SPOILS my kingdom
  7. what's the best mod?

Singleplayer, I'd say Diplomacy (and custom commander with limitations). Multi, I'd say cRPG.
  8. Married to a woman from another faction

Weird, normally she should have moved in to your castle. Did you marry her after the war was beginning and her father joined vaegir? That MAY have caused it, but it's very unusual...seems like you gotta wait till you can go to praven once there is peace or just take it for your own
  9. Where do you rank Warband?

Interesting.  You are the first person I've encountered who has thought negatively of this game.  I would have thought a lot of the other games on my list would be considered "left field," but eh to each their own.
Make a two persons then  I wholeheartedly agree with him ^^
  10. Where do you rank Warband?

    1. TES3: Morrowind (if mods count :3)
    2. Mass Effect 1
    3. CIV IV
    4. Halo 2 (I'm serious )
    5. Mount & Blade (and warband)

After that it becomes insanely hard. It was hard already (but for 1), dunno...so many great games out there. I'm kind of surprised that I choose ME for 2, but I love that game.

M&B could be 2. if it weren't for the boring mid game when you are a vassal but not strong enough to do battles and for the HORRIBLE ai and sieges. Btw, somebody knows a mod which adds more ladders to sieges? It always makes me ALT+F4 if I have to fight a siege ^^
  11. SP - improve Rhodoks (for Devs.)

Well that's the disadvantage for being the king of sieges I guess.

In my opinion they're balanced. The only faction I really consider too weak are khergits, as the AI lacks any tactic and makes their horse archers charge you before the skirmish. But that's more like an AI problem (but try to win sieges with khergits, I dare you )

Has anyone tried playing as an Lord on the opposing side of a battle yet?

Yes, my friend I was co-oping with was going on about how easy a battle this would be, so I took command of the enemy Rhodok Count's troops and ripped him a new one.

That's an interesting idea tbh. Imagine you and your friend are both playing on their own game in different kingdoms, and whenever a battle between those kingdoms approaches you fight for your side
  13. Tutorial pl0x?

Copy the module into the modules folder in your warband install directory. Choose it in the launcher. Play.
  14. B Native Battle Time! - The co-op mod (v1.4 Updated 10/1/12)

    /forums

Honestly, this mod is brilliant. Very well tought out and almost perfectly executed, even renown/surgery/etc. are properly emulated.  The only thing I saw which bothered me were the long spawnpoint distance (much higher than in sp) and that all lords of my kingdom got ridiculously high amounts of renown, I couldn't see how this influenced them though o_O GJ anyways, great mod!
  15. Suggestions

Make it possible to change our factions colour please. Even though it should be fixable through the factions.txt, it doesn't. nor does TweakMB help. I DO know it is possible though, so I wondered if you would actually be able to implement such a faction. I can't stand this glowing red, it annoys me
  16. Giving Troops (Question)

They don't take any at all. They just want you to follow them with a suitable number of people
  17. Mount & Blade Warband Nominated for Best Expansion Pack of 2010

And can you count Warband as an expansion pack? Actually its a new game, but meh...I'm also glad it gets that much attention. It's a really great game, unless you play a lot of sp sieges
  18. -- Official Unofficial 'Ask Questions About Warband Singleplayer Here' Thread --

It's been asked a hundred times but I never found a satisfying (=working) answer...how do you actually change YOUR faction's colour without mods/starting a new game. I hate this red....I really do :/
  19. Couple of Questions

    Shpritc 说:
He wont give me any more jobs though ever since I became his vassal when I ask for one he always says that whatever he needs done is beneath me now or something like that.

What you mentioned here is one of the things I HATE about warband. Lords of any kingdom won't give you as many quests as they did while you were a mercenary (some never, e.g. the spy mission or catching serfs), which is a shame imo, considering that you spend only a small time in merc and a very long time  in vassal/king. Actually, king has almost no quests, which is a shame actually. I'd actually wish some modder would make a lot more quests based on later points in the game, as the "get army-siege-ask lord to join" gets boring after a while
  20. Feedback

Just like most people in this thread, I wanted to thank you for this great mod and the time you invested, I wouldn't want to play without it anymore  Keep up the great work!
