Which cheat do you use most often?

I've used ctrl-f4 for the "train the peasants" quest when my character was non-combat-oriented and Lezalit was doing the training anyway. I also use it to cut down routers sometimes, especially when they route up a damn mountain.

    Not feminine enough?

    More renown = bigger tits/penis.

    And that's how M&B works.

Yikes, both? No wonder no one'll marry her!

    production houses

does placement of the actual "Factory" matter, or can you put them anywhere you want without regards to supply of raw materials?

i built the one producing velvet in Suno, and for all i see it dont make any profit... suggestions on how to counter the negative balance? or was it just 10.000 down the drain?

Has it been a week yet? It takes about that long for it to get up and running. Visit it and talk to the master dyer; he should tell you how long till it starts producing. If for some reason it doesn't work, you can recoup most of the cost by telling the same guy you can no longer run the business.

And supply and demand in the town matter. Towns with cheap iron are good for ironworks, and you'll get a negative weekly balance for, say, a linen weaver in sargoth.

Ironworks are good in Curaw and Dhirim.

But real men build nothing but bakeries.

    Throwing Weapon Effectiveness

    Yoshi Murasaki 说:
The higher power throw more damage you do, faster will proficiency rise.

Is throwing not based on shot difficulty, like archery and crossbow? The damage thing would be much nicer, because the reported shot difficulties for throwing never seem to reflect how hard the hit actually was to land...

    Artimenner, I think, in Durquba.

    Family Castles?

I've not seen Etrosq given Etrosq Castle, either.

I thought there was another one. I repeat my 'game of poker' theory. Or whatever card game classy medieval gents played.

    Family Castles?

So Boya Nelag lives in Nelag castle, Count Haringoth lives in Haringoth Castle, and Jarl Knudarr lives in...Curin Castle? Anyone else find it odd Jarl Knudarr doesn't own Knudarr Castle? Maybe he lost in a game of poker...

    Vassals?! In my kingdom?!

I like that bit about the rhodoks exiling Nelag to the nords. Poor dude starts out as a Vaegir. Nah, nothing's off, it happens sometime. As the Nelag example shows, lords can get indicted and then flee to another faction; doesn't have to be your own. I think it has something to do with their relations with their king.

    Hardest castles to take

Wercheg's annoying, because my damn archers always want to line up perpendicular to the castle wall for some reason. No thinning out their ranks that way. Not to mention you start off within huscarl-throwing-axe range.

    So about that battle 'AI'

    tyrannicide 说:
Are you fucking kidding? Have you actually played those? They aren't any better than the M&B AI.

I'd say they are. I mean, there's nothing in the total war series that compares to the 'go left and clump up around the invisible wall.' The AI could skirmish properly with horse archers, try to envelop with its cavalry, etc. Now, there were plenty of dumb things - suicidal cavalry charges show up in both series. Its poor performance in the tactical part, if I remember right, was often a result of its inability to manage the strategic part and get good troops.

I know nothing about programming AI - it might be that total war's focus on 'units' of lots of soldiers, and more pronounced morale effects, made it easier for the AI to be smarter. It's certainly not perfect, and from Rome onwards they seemed to invest more resources in enhancing 'production values' than improving AI faults, but all told I think the AI was at least decent. The games are different enough that I don't know if the AIs should really be compared - the total war games are more battle simulators, while warband gives you a simplified battle you can split heads during.

How do I increase the variety of drinks for a feast?

    Caba`drin 说:
And if you look, each feast should consume 1 unit of each food and drink, spice and oil.

Huh, never noticed. I actually kinda prefer the current system to one where you have to travel all over calradia to buy enough booze or chicken for each feast. Maybe they could add a cost to each feast to represent what you pay to 'restock' your larder afterwards, but I just think of it as what your wife and presumed invisible background servants spend their time doing - maintaining it at the level you stocked it.  If you're a female character, maybe that's why you can never find your husband - he's out picking up cabbage for the next feast.

    So about that battle 'AI'

    gwanjun 说:
Total War series has decent ai fighting. but they are way more funded and manned.

True, but they didn't really have to focus on complex maneuvers for the individual soldiers, or give you the ability to run around with a sword and shield yourself. And the more 'cinematic' they made the close in fighting, as the series went along, the less I, at least, liked it overall.

Has anyone ever tried playing a bandit/Robin Hood-type of character?

Well, you could always buy food from the villagers with the money you make from victories, then sell other stuff to them to get the money back. Just don't give 'em more than 3499 gold or they'll buy 3000 denars worth of...well, something.

That'd be a cool mod idea too, that would let you take over bandit hideouts to use as your own. King Outlaw!

    What's your kingdom named?

    Karmine 说:
Calrad Empire, Calradian empire, Calradic Empire.....  so either Calrad Empire or Calradic Empire....

And what's funny is each one of those "_____ Empire" phrases appears exactly once. It's the only time 'Calrad' appears, though, while the other two are used about the same amount in other contexts.

    Shadowesh 说:
Does your kingdom always have to be called The Kingdom of ____?
Cannot it not be something like.... The Holy Britanian Empire xD?

Nah, it can be whatever. My current never-signed-with-a-faction is the Free County of Uxkhal. Well, free so long as they do what I tell 'em.

    A singleplayer manual

You do lose relation with the lady too (from having to leave her family I guess). When I eloped in a game, I got three separate relationship hits to the (now-wife) lady. They showed up during the wedding cutscene (and it still played? with her dad (I think) giving her away? Odd, that), and I think added up to more or less twenty.

The relation hit to her father was pretty mild, -5 I think.
