What actually happened after he got exiled? Were you single again and could remarry?

Nope. I was stuck with his absense. I couldn't court or re-marry at all. Whenever I broke someone out of jail, though, he came and helped (Aww!). But then he disapeared again ;(

    Don't you just love deserters?

The joy of remembering their location =P

In my previous save, when I'd first started, I kept being stalked by a group of deserters, 12 khergit lancers vs 7 tribesmen (including myself) isn't really that good now is it? So I closed game. Re-loaded, took a different route. 12 Khergit Lancers stalked me, poked me, I closed game. Wash, rinse, repeat.

I eventually elluded them and.. 200 game days later found some tracks for "Deserters" with a party size of "16", I followed and found those lancers with 4 new looters. Thrashed 'em. Revenge is sweet.

    I would suggest:

    Nord Hurcarls for Infantry

    Rhodok Sharpshooter for Archery

Other 4 factions for Cavalry, though early on I would prefer either Khergits Lancers or Sarranid Mamlukes for cost efficiency. Later on once you have all production enterprise running and your own kingdom you could consider stronger cavalry. I think Swadian Knights would be good, but they cost a lot. And that would depends on which patch version as well.

Others might prefer other config. You might as well, depending on how you want to play your army.

Though I love the game that much, it is not perfect. There r still way too many bugs. Be nice to yourself and dont play the realistic option this time around. Not good for your health. Try n space 10 days apart for each game.

I'd like to add to this, that, if money is tight, Khergit Horsemen are suprisingly helpful early on.

Take care, take it slow, and take it easy. Like I said, if you can't find yourself having fun with M&B Warband, take a break! It's okay to get angry, just try to keep it savory if you need to vent.

Surely this is a troll? No one could really be so stupid as to keep posting on the forums of a game they apparently want nothing to do with. Seriously, piss off and write your "horrible reviews" elsewhere, already.

    Hi,

Can anyone point me in the direction to find out the trade center town assigned for every village?

    Thanks in advance,

    Hello =)

If I'm to understand correctly, I believe you can find this under Notes>Location. Find the town, click on it and it will tell you what the assigned villages are. It's the same with castles.

    Good luck!

Auto-resolve is a strange feature. You could have 50 2nd tier troops v.s 15 top teir, and your 50 would die in auto-resolve. Every troop has a number affiliated with its rank and power (I think equipment, too), and these numbers are taken into consideration when Auto-Resolve is being used.

M&B Warband is difficult to adjust to at first, I remember first time I played it, I was utterly thrashed. Luckily though, I'd played original M&B beforehand so I knew a little bit. What difficulty settings are you on? If you're set to "normal damage", I suggest trying "easy" for those first few steps.

And, although I understand the frustration a game can bring (believe you me, don't I just), thousands of people have had no problems with the game whatsoever. You see problems posted on the forums, because that's what they were designed for. Give and take, give and take. I won't give you a lecture, it's not my place. We all have an opinion, but please, consider posting a bug report about your crashes before flaming the crap TaleWorlds and wishing them ill. They have a job to do, and my goodness they have been doing it. They actually listen to the customers, unlike some other larger scale companies.

Now you can throw the game out if that is your wish, but we all have to learn new things. It's a game, it's supposed to be fun blah blah, but if you aren't enjoying it, and (I mean no offense when I say this) aren't willing to learn for whatever reason -- and that's perfectly fine too up to a point, then, maybe it is best you don't play it, or take a break and try again later.

It was my very first game of Mount&Blade (the original), and I was doing alright. I'd run into a bunch of bandits in my first few days in Calradia and survived - they were Looters, for the most part, but I didn't realize the significance of that until later. With my inherited Saddle Horse, some scavenged gear, and a handful of recruits, we were able to hold our own on the roads. I was so green that I didn't really know the difference between bandit types, whether they're Looters or Forest Bandits or Deserters. Worse, I didn't think to pay attention to their numbers, since I'd only run into bands of three or four at that point.

Having entered the Steppes with a few saddlebags full of Smoked Fish to sell, I was quickly set upon by some oddly fast-moving bandits, and looked forward to some quick cash by beating up the shirtless freaks. I kicked my saddle horse and left my recruits in my dust, racing toward the enemy with my Rusty Sword raised.

Far off across the Steppe a great cloud of dust rose toward the sky - what could be the reason? Maybe there were more looters than I thought? Sandstorms?

There wasn't a cloud in the sky, but I realized there was thunder - a great, rolling bass, one you don't hear but feel in your bones; in the distance a bright gleam sparkled like the sun - it was the sun, reflected, mirrored off a wall of shields, of silver armor, and white horses like from a dream - a moving wall: moving toward me.

When I awoke, captive, I had lost everything but gained something important: the knowledge that 3 Looters ≠ 40 Khergit Lancers.

    Beautiful. So. Damn. Beautiful.

This could probably be done for vassals aswell; change troops inventory

I'll see if I get a chance to take a look, but for now, I have no clue

    Small update on this one;

I added the following (marked red) to the conversations.txt, and increased the number at the top of the file by 2.

One slight side-effect is that this tweak enables you to change EVERY lords equipment
The let me see your equipment is under the "Let me ask you something"

    I hope this helps you.

So, here I am. I broke my savegame and had to start over. I'm not complaining of course, but the moment I left Reyvadin and recruited 2 villagers I got jumped... by 12 deserters... Vaegir infantry deserters for that matter. My recruits died. I was only level 1. Luckily I had a horse and spent...

I personally don't like horses in my army, they always charge ahead and get themselves killed (I sometimes forget to issue them commands to stay back). I ususally go with a enormous amount of archers.

If you press the keys F1, F2 or F3, it brings up a command interface. You can tell your army to stfu and stay where they are by pressing F1, and telling them to hold their position. Once you get the hang of commands you'll find it suprisingly quick and easy to do. This may help you in the future =).

You can go over 30 in STR, AGI, Cha and INT, Ive done that often enough in M&B and did it once in Warband so far. Skillpoints are limited to 10 however.

Thank you for clearing that up.

But with party bonuses of max 5, you can get party skills up to 15

I hear Harlaus' party skill is 20...

haha! He sure knows how to entertain

It could be that most of his party has been over-fed to death, or the new party dress Imma put him in.

    A question about horseflesh...

Recently a fellow poster told me he sometimes buys lame horses cheap and heals them up with wound treatment skills. I tried it out myself...bought a lame horse to heal but ended up dragging him around with me way too long. However, lame horses I've picked up on battlefield do heal up and rather quickly. Is there a lameness slider on these beasts? Are some more lame than others, but lame all the same ? (like all the Rhodok lords in this game)

Another question (because I'm too lazy to experiment), do you get a better price selling a Steppe or Desert Horse in places which don't normally have them, like Wercheg or Praven?

I haven't noticed any price changes for horses in different towns. ..

I'm resurrecting this thread because I have discovered a fluctuation in horse pricing which seems to be on the supply side. I dumped a load of steppe horses for 59d at Tulga, but in Ichamur they would pay only 54d. (I know, not much of a difference), but a day or two before I dumped a load of steppe horses at Ichamur and the price was higher at the time.

I'm still looking into it. I don't think prices are greater/lesser enough at different towns to make a player deep-six hauling iron ore and start horse trading instead, though.

Is there any dev or scripter out there who can shed more light on horse pricing?

[I dump a lot of steppe horses because I kill millions of steppe bandits. It's 90% of my game. I've got to turn as much a profit as possible.]

Might it be something to do with your relation with the town? I've noticed lower prices in towns I'm friendly with, could simply be a coincidence though.

Question about best faction, troops, etc...

I think the main issue is the morale drop when it comes to mixing troops (if it drops too low your troops will abandon ship, and that can be a pain once you've raised 30 top tier troops and a chunk of 'em leave), that, and running around from one end of the map to the other is very tedious. Also, if you're at war with a faction you cannot recruit from their villages.

I think!! When a faction is eliminated from the map, you can still recruit their troops from villages that ORIGINALLY belonged to said faction. So if Unriya, which is originally from the Sarranid Sultanate was taken due to its castle being taken, then you could still recruit Sarranids from it. If, later on, the Sarranids were abolished, you could still recruit Sarranids from Unriya.

Ah good to hear. So theoretically I could max out all skills and attributes and proficiencies and become a one man army? Pretty awesome.

What are the maxes to the other stats? Anyone?

This is just a wild guess, but I would assume 30 would be the maximum for stats, as skills have a maximum level of 10. Though, like I say, that's a guess. I'd love for someone to correct me on that one.

Good looking helmet on female characters

Lmao I leave this thread alone for a couple of hours and all I see is posts about rape, underwear, and people dissing my favorite helmets. Also Urlik thanks for suggesting a tweak but like I said I want a helmet from native with modding. I guess I should have said tweaking as well. Thanks for trying though.

Although the helmet I posted was from native, you'd have to use an item.txt editor to get it to show up in merchant's shops so xD. I always used to settle with a khergit cavalry helmet, though it wasn't my favourite. I don't like how women look instantly bald with the majority of half-helms =(.
