There's a bug when you marry someone and take her in your party, you can give her equipment but some of the items will just disappear. She'll always wear her dress and if you give her a new body armor it will disappear. You can even make her strip repeatedly and she'll just create new dresses instantly which you can sell for infinite money. If you give her multiple shields they'll disappear too.

Guess I have to accept losing the castle and all my troops then, though I will never just surrender. I'll probably have some fun shooting nords with my crossbow, it should give me some decent experience atleast.

Another question, I'm assuming swadia will be dead soon, but what actually happens when swadia lost all their castles and all vassals are gone/captured except me? will the faction be dead or can I just keep the faction alive forever by running around and avoiding capture?

oh and last question, what will happen to my wife when we lose all castles? Will she die/dissapear or is that not possible?

The eloping thing seems to be abit random, sometimes you just gotta keep asking them to elope and they will eventually agree. (same with asking lords for quests)
A few days ago this nord lady was bethrothed to someone else so I asked her to elope, she said no. Then I asked again right away, without even leaving the castle, and she said yes. Now we are happily married.

edit: and when i asked her the first time she clearly said that she doesn't want to defy her family. I don't know what her personality is but apparently she changed her mind when i asked again 3 seconds later. And I only had like 8 relation points with her.

The higher the relation to the village the more recrits you get, and you get a chance to recruit higher tier troops.
Always nice to recruit a batch of Knights or Marksmen.

Is that in native? Cus I never been able to recruit anything else then the lowest tier troops..

do quests with the village, then your relation will increase and you can get more recruits.

50 footmen? You need to train your troops, if you got some mamlukes you can easily beat the khergits...quality over quantity.

but loosing your castle cause of joining a faction depend on which faction you would join and what relation you have with it's lords...

may i ask which castle is under your controll?
cause not every castle is the same to defend...
maybe if we know the castle, we find someone who knows how to defend specially this castle with minimal casualties against a great number of enemy forces.
anyway you should get yourself some good archers/x-bowman

btw, you know your recruitet prisoners lower the moral of your troop?

if you get a break from enemy attacks, try to sneak into some nord-town and look if the guildmaster has this "please stop the war" quest.
that would be the best option if you try to hold your castle and enemy is approaching from all side

Yeah, I know morale goes down when I recruit but my morale overal is pretty high, I guess because I'm constantly fighting and i keep most of my troops in my castle so my party is actually pretty small.

Anyway, the castle is Sungetche castle, and when it gets besieged they actually use a siege tower, which I believe is much easier to defend against then ladders. The rhodoks are attacking with about 650 troops and I have almost 170 to defend. What I tried is having an "archer war" until the siege tower is at the right place, and when they try to send their troops up the tower and in my castle I simply retreat and fight again, so that the siege tower goes back to the starting place. This would actually work because I'm winning in the archer battles, however when I retreat I lose up to 20 troops and they lose only about 2, so that kinda screws it all up. Still, I'm not gonna give up that easily and if anyone knows a better strategy I'd love to hear it.

If you have a decent army, your best bet is to kick the ass of any enemy lord rash enough to come into your sights!  Nothing encourages nations to sue for peace as well as getting curbstomped does!

I have actually been doing this and had the upper hand in the war, but it was not enough to get peace (with the nords atleast, havent tried the other factions)

Good to know about the peace quest, I'll definitely try to do that if I can get a break from the attacks. And yeah I have been sending companions to right to rule missions but those take pretty long and I'm only at 15 right to rule now.

My backup plan is to simply take all my strong troops and let the rhodoks have sungetche castle while I take a different one, but then I'd want one that is really easy to defend. But I only want to do this if I really can't defend my current castle.

then there will be a very bloody end for his army of recruits.

other possible way:
you said your enemys are swadia, rhodock and nords?
then search for an other faction, which is in war with one of them and swear loyality to their kingdom.
if they accept and you are a vassal then, your relation with the other faction should change to what your factions relation is.
if your castle is still yours then, they even will send troops to help you defending it when under siege.
but as you know, if they have to cross the whole map, it will be nearly impossible to hold out till reinforcements arrive

I'd rather lose my castle while fighting then joining another faction!

Anyway, I did have alot of money but I blew it all on books. Still, I seem to have enough to buy pretty much all the troops I come across while traveling. Also, during my battles I capture some elite enemy troops and recruit them in my party, that seems to help. Right now I have about 50 max tier faction troops as well as loads of mercenary cavalries and hired blades and other troops. About 130 total. My vassal also seems to raise elite troops pretty quickly. However, the rhodoks have just launched a campaign and besieged my castle and I can see that the battle is going to be though. Will keep you all updated!

My configurations have been reset and the game doesn't crash every 3 seconds anymore, however it still didn't ask me for my serial key, so I think I'm using the trial version now...how do I upgrade it to the full version?

An awkward option that takes an extra 70MB of space for each +9 slots would be to make a copy of your ...Warband\Modules\Native\ folder and name it "Native 2" or some such. Then, when you start the game, select Native 2 instead of Native from the drop down menu and you would have a new set of save slots there as different modules' save slots are kept separately.

To save the disk space, I suppose, you could create fake module folders and use Windows junctions to simulate the other folders, for instance linking a Native 2 folder to the real Native folder, etc. You'd still need to select either Native 2 or Native in the drop down menu to access their array of 9 slots, but it wouldn't take up extra space on your disk for the duplicates of the Native module.

I use this trick to get my savegames out of the \Documents\ directory, so the disk space is used elsewhere, as I describe in this post:

I, too, have separate/partitioned drives for the OS, games, what-have-you and so have moved the save game folder and the config/settings/screenshots/export folder into my Warband game directory on the other drive.

I've then created a junction between fake folders within Documents and the real data in the Warband game directory using the following Windows command:

Yeah, that sounds nice, I have tried it before. But what about when a new patch comes, wouldn't that mess things up, or would it automatically update both native1 and native2?

Yeah I'm aware of that but I was hoping there would be some easier way so that I don't have to rename them all the time, and just have like 50 slots at the same time.

Yes, you can besiege other castles/towns and take them over, and then request them to be given to you. If they are given to you, continue taking over more. If the king decides to give a fief that you took over to someone else, you get the option to defy your king, and you will get your own kingdom and keep all the fiefs you got.
