Pissed off squirels? now that is a good idea for medieval defence. The squirells get into their armour and they hit themselves with big axes to try and get em out! HAHAHAAHAHA

funny thing caba, is that I have visited the taleworlds website when you try to join a multiplayer game with a module you don't have? There are what looks to be no mods featured on the taleworlds website. no diplomacy, native expansion or anything like that. which i find a little annoying and misleading. besides anyone know where I can find the CRPG module for 1.143, theres this great Australian server I want to join.

call it an ingame balnce then, because Im pretty sure a wave of 200 huscarls coming through the front gate will kill everything inside

I have my own Kingdom and own two castles, at war against Swad+Kher. Need Advise

You really can't steam roll he rhodoks, unless they have at least half of their lords missing. Surprisingly in a friends game, the rhodoks sucked are were losing ground to the SARRINADS 0.o. But in my game, you never ever want to mess with rhodoks in a siege battle, those greathammers and crossbows will kick your ass 3 ways before you hit the ground. Just steamroll the vaegiers, they are pretty much the "light infantry" of caldaria, and huscarls will be NOMNOMNOM LIGHT INFANTRY .

Mmm i have always wondered at that option, do you join a faction as a vassal and keep all the land you conquered? Like what are the details?

what's the point of getting your relationship up with your town?

oh and for cities with high enough relation, you can pay the guard to escape if you are captured and put into the friendly town.

I'm sorry but why is everyone telling him to start another war with the rhodoks??? I mean seriously with a nord rhodok sharpshooter army he would roll over the khergits at Halmar and a few nearby castle with little hassle and he will be able to keep moe control of his kingdom. Don't start anymore wars than you have to, is what I always say, a two front war is bad enough without pissing off a third nation. (which will also affect his troop morale). My final piece of advise with an army like that is to attack them yourself and send your 2 nobles on defense to stop any maruading horse faces. This has been your daily rave brought to you by Fruitcake

but munchie what troops are you using? and what is your current finacial position? (state of your fiefs) If you really want to dominate the khergits, gather your lords and get some huscarls, they will kick the ass of khergits in plain and siege battles. Little tip for siege battles (because khergit units in castles consist mostly of bowman) get your shielded units to stand just beneth the wall. They will lift their shields up, covering them entirely. This will draw the fire of the archers while your archers can pick them off. Just make sure to charge straight up the ladder when most of their archers have run out of arrows, this wall allow your troops a stronger chance to gt inside the castle without being hit in the sides. Hope this helps with your dominantion of the Khergits

So swadia and khergit huh? mmmm  since your more worried about attacking than defending, steering away from plain battles with khergits would be wise. Also since you only have 2 lords (whom I assume you have good relation) You should gather them and try to perhaps take some khergit land (also to keep an eye on them ). just a few mind you, with only 2 lords you don't want too much land which you can't manage. I would try to avoid doing much siege battles with the swadians, as they are just about as hard as rhodoks to siege somtimes ( - the greathammers). If you have a companion with high persuasion I would try to seek peace with them first.

Hi, i have a question, please, help me:

Get a wife and hold feasts, this will improve your relationship with all lords, go talk to the lord you have good relation with and talk to him in private, ask him about his kingdom and than ask him to join you. If worst comes to worst, exile the bad lords but keep the good ones and redistribute land.

    Sieges

Yeah, just sieged a castle, uhunun something like that, and noticed that I could actually open the gate, once I got inside of course . But its hardly as some say, game breaking and have you ried telling your troops to hold ground outside the open gate and tell them to hold ground inside courtyard?

How do you prepare for War and Starting your own Kingdom?

Firstly, during a time of peace I buy several enterprises throughout the lands so that i can easily fund my army even without fief support for a while. I farm relation as much as I can with neighbours of the castle or town i target for the capital. (I.E Farm relations with Nords, Swadia if i target Curaw or Reyadin) I train my companions (warrior ones like firentis and alayen, not jeremus and deshavi) With Charisma, leadership and training, as well as the highest, noble like equipment money can buy. (I like heradlic mail and huscarl shields, and chargers if I can find em.) Before I go to siege the town, I recruit several mid tier troops to fill out the garison when its conquered. (Nord Footman, Nord archers, good reliable mid tier, unexpensive troops but still useful in a siege  After I conquer the castle, I play defensively, prefering to keep my small amounts of fiefs and castles maintained than having large amounts of looted or attacked fiefs. And from there I slowly take over the map. (because im running diplomacy, I'll often sign non aggression treaties with the strongest of my neighbours, so there is no risk of a two front war I cant win.) And thats pretty much it.

Lords standing still after kingdom is defeated

Its a very annoying bug in the game, I sometimes get glitched lords that do nothing on the map but have 85 troops. Anyway, the only way you are going to able to get rid of them is through cheating im afraid, only when you crt alt F4 them they wont leave.
  15. Fruitcake

Just how the heck do you play with a spear?

I would suggest, that as well to go with the spear you choos would be to recomend a heavy charger. High armour and mounervability means you arent totally screwed if you get surrounded. As for spear choice, I would suggest a war spear, if not a light lance or normal lance is just as effective.

    Your worst losses/downfalls

    My most stupid moment:
Was playing on the hardest difficulty and nearly got killed by the starting bandit when you enter the town, so I was badly wounded. When I left the town of sargoth, I went back into it in the hopes of farming a little in the arena, when lo and behold, 10 sea raiders were hiding under the town and letters of Sargoth and I was Ambushed! My first thought was "oh crap im soooo dead" but then I headshotted and illed 5 of them with my xbow. I was thinking oh this should be alright I guess. One of the guys come up and lowers his shield as i expected. I sht him the head and saw the dreaded "0 damage dealt" He hit my horse and me really good with his axe, than he pulled out his javelins and hits Me in the head. I raged so hard, but couldn't help laughing.

    My worst moment:
I was attacking the city of Narra which was under Sarrinad control, me and half the nord army, as well as my significant force of huscarls were sieging it. But before the battle had began, the whole nord armada left and I was alone seiging Narra. I have no Idea how they were able to fell my mighty huscarls but one by one we fell even before the siege tower had reached the walls. By the time it was there, the fight for the gap of the wall had begun, half my huscarls were either dead or wounded from master archers. Than out of nowhere, I am hit repeatedly with 5 arrows, all aimed at my head and die where I stood. The autocalc was very harsh and I only walked away with half of the force I started with.

    My best moment:
After replenishing my might force of huscarls and knights, I thought it was time for a little payback on the sarrinads. I lost many a huscarl and the debt must be paid in sarrinad blood. I marched out into the desert and saw the Sarrinad army massing, at least 250 of them vs my elite force of 80 swadian knights, huscarls and rhodok sharpshooters. The slaughter was long and tiresome but at the end of it, only 1 of my men were wounded and 250 of them were either wounded, killed or routed. I was so proud to have defeated and army 3 times my size with pure tactics and qaulity over qauntity.

-- Official Unofficial 'Ask Questions About Warband Singleplayer Here' Thread --

Hello guys, once again I come to the great FAQ thread to ask yet another question.

I have recently installed diplomacy and enjoying it greatly, although at times it is pretty confusing. I would like to know some things about diplomacy before I continue and quite possibly make an ass of myself.

    1. How does setting a lower tax rate affect fief relations, prosperity?

    2. How does the treasury and new income wages system work?

    3. Is the way you set up and run a new kingdom changed and any tips for starting one with diplomacy?

    4. How does the new looting system work? (I fiddled with it and nearly lost some good swords that my heroes dropped for some ****ey rusty nordic swords)

Looking for some new ideas :)

If you wish to have more options for going to war then i would personally suggest getting diplomacy mod for your game version. Great mod and best thing is you won't lose rep or honour for persuading your king to go to war. (just have high persuasion and your golden )

Also if your feeling lucky and got good right to rule you could possibly even consider leaving the nords and conquering a castle owned by one of the weaker factions and start a kingdom! (make sure you get lots of huscarls because they will beast the siege.)

Side Note: Jarl Gearth is the warmonger for the nords and you should be able to get the aggrevate faction quest from him.

Also, invest your money in enterprises so that you can pay for your ever growing army easily.

And finally, upgrade everything you can, fiefs, companions, yourself, you should use times of peace wisely by training troops for lords (to prepare them for the hell you plan to set them through), getting up relations, even rescueing lords from other factions for honour and profit.

    start war?

What i would recomend (note this is assuming you have a save before you helped her) you could find the swadian lord warmonger (guy who always gives quests to go to war with other factions) You could talk to him a few times and get swadia in trouble with several nations .
