    AAR: Me, Floris | Completed | Chapter 60 & Epilogue posted (19-09-2015)

So... does anyone know if this AAR is going to be finished at some point or already is finished?  Don't get me wrong, I love a good cliffhanger, but it would be awesome to finally see Floris ascend to the true Calradian Throne.

Knights the Last Battle ver 1

First off, love this mod. I can't get enough of how b-e-a-utiful it is to play.

After playing a little I can only say this is really very nice mod and works perfectly. But why are there so many unrealistic things in combat like so long halberds used as two handers with piercing damage for swing and short lances unable to outreach them, so weak armour which is practically useless, any pike able to kill a man with mastercraft sallet with overhand swing etc.?

Do you plan some realistic stats submod for this as well?

However, I have to agree with this.  Obviously, I have never actually engaged in physical combat myself, but the rate at which I find myself getting KO'd in this mod seems rather ridiculous (same weakness applies to my enemies as well).  I have played max difficulty forever, but for the first time ever I find myself thinking about turning it down during battles. It is not that I am looking for a more 'gamey' experience, it is just that I don't think it is very realistic. Men in heavy armor were not frequently subjected to one hit kills with (except of course with crossbow bolts and the like) polearms, swords, and axes. Such weapons did have the potential to pierce armor, but for the most part they were often used as bludgeoning weapons when attacking a knight in full armor. Long story short, your weapons are psychotically deadly.

I realize that I sound very critical, but you gotta believe me, I LOVE this mod!

There is someway to my character have kids? (idiot question, but it dont get out of my mind)

I wish there was. In a way, it kind of ruins the realistic nature of this game by having absolutely no children in it.

screw it.  a couple weeks back i had a dream that i was standing in the middle of an arena (and I could see myself in third person) completely surrounded by a ring of guys wearing the "strange armor" set and all wielding the huge two handed strange swords and they all screamed and charged at me at the same time.

I realized I had better do something other than play WB right before I went to bed.

The setting was the second scene of "Inception" (where the cars are exploding and they dump the guy in the bath tub).  The cast was me, some of my low tier troops... and 2000 Rhodoks marching inexorably towards us (no exploding cars though)

    Scenes:

They tried, I ordered them to hold the street, but our numbers were few, and our enemies too well trained. Eventually my Nord bretheren crumbled and fell, at first one at a time, but soon enough our ranks became shallow, and those southern rejects flanked us! I retreated to the house with Borcha just as my force was swallowed by the Rhodok monster.

Borcha braced the door.  A thundering thud shook the entire side of the house.  The door exploded inwards, killing Borcha outright (yeah Rhodoks don't have explosives, but this is MY dream).  I positioned myself against the wall with my sword pointed towards the door, ready to puncture the face of the first ugly Rhodok scum that came in.  I did just that, but as soon as he fell forward, two more nasty bastards took his place.

I screamed "I surrender, let me retreat!"

In a gruff voice came the reply: "Too late, you're not far enough away to hit TAB!"

    THEN I WOKE UP

King Harlaus asked me to lend my "skilled companion" Rolf to him for a week.

Rolf never spoke to me after that. He just spent the rest of his life staring into space and crying himself to sleep. I eventually found him lying dead in his tent, with a note explaining what Harlaus had done to him - things I probably couldn't even begin to mention here without getting banned.
King Harlaus is a sex offender?

    Well, it's funny until

There is no such option now.
Only information, that King refuses to give you a fief. No money, no options to rebel.
Just single option to close this window...
They changed it? Well that's a load of garbage. Wonder if there's a way to change the menu scripts to add it back in...

I full-heartedly agree! If I siege a castle all by my lonesome, then I sure as hell don't want King Dingleberry to give it to Count Dumbass without any compensation to moi!

All ranged weapons are tough to use on horseback--every type of bow, crossbow, throwing knive, axe, dart, etc. all have a penalty at speed. Adding points to Horse Archery can lessen the impact, but even then the AI doesn't do a great job with horse archery.

    this.

Although, I have to say that I have had positive experiences with companion throwers.

So not mounted companion throwers, though?

For the situation I just described, correct.  I should have clarified  I have also put them on horse, with some horse archer skillz.  However, in my experience, I usually let the AI charge in while my units hold position and throw axes at them, and then, I issue my own charge.  In this case, I guess it's hard to gage the AI's horse archer accuracy since their horses are relatively still during the throwing phase of combat.

Although, I have to say that I have had positive experiences with companion throwers.  I use them along with my Huscarls (who also throw) because it fits my roleplaying, and they act like a cohesive unit because they have the same basic kit.

You can try rhodock sharpshooter, as they kick ass even in melee. Not enough to take out high tier or elite units, but they do nice work against anything below.

I didn't recruit any Rhodok forces because I felt they would be too far away for me to be able to quickly get enough of them. I did have some Swadian xbows at the start when it was just the Nords, but they went the same way as the huscarls and are currently being held in my newly conquered city of Sargoth. The Nords are on the ropes now!

I started recruiting Vaegirs to get guardsmen as well as sharp shooters, they aren't a patch on huscarls but they make relatively good medium infantry.

May I suggest Diplomacy Mod? You can just as easily send a recruiter to go get rhodoks for you. I personally cannot stand having to go around recruiting across the land to each little crumy village... I'm LAZY

Morale loss of faction units vs. faction

I think the ratio is for every 8 faction troops your party kills, those faction troops under your command lose 1 moral, so 8:1. idk how long it takes for that penalty to go away though.
