Worked for me!
I had tried all night to join a server and failed, used all other suggestions.
Then I found this thread and it worked. I had duplicate files and then did as suggested.

One problem I had was a TK'er started saying that I tried to kill him as soon as he attacked me (from spawn). Anyone who has played with me knows I don't TK on purpose!
Other members on my team began attacking him because they knew he was a problem.
It was one of those evenings when I just gave up playing because the grievers were making it impossible.

It is best to keep it "All in fun", much of the challenge of this game is in the learning curve.
Bots are a good way to help learn blocks.
Just don't forget to have fun!
When you gain some knowledge of just general moves, you can enjoy playing with greater confidence...
and keep it all in FUN!

Yep, I sure miss the days when there were only a select few of us. I know I looked forward to playing each day with all the great people we had on here. Fun times were had!
I will always remember those days and also want to honor the developers who made this great game possible.

Ahh, I missed that you were a member of the faction. I had been playing as rebel helping a claimant. Like to stir things up!
In the original game I helped claimants then kept the captured castles I could to myself and rebeled against the claimant once he was the ruler. That was very challenging.

I believe it depends on what type of enemy you are fighting, as to if you have a chance at capturing horses.

I snuck into a castle a couple times and had to fight my way in when discovered. Then I approached the prison guard and bribed him once, then fought him another time. When he started fighting I went immediately into the prison and gathered my party members (there were like 8 of them), then tried fighting our way out of the castle. Failed at fighting one time and managed to escape with all of them another time.
Over all lots of fun

The black graphics problem is strange.
Since my previous post it seems like every other patch has caused it for me. I have the 104 patch installed and it is working well now, but the one just before (103) had the black graphics problem again unless I switched the directx.
I have since, even updated the NVidia driver to the latest available.
Not sure what the variation between patches is that is causing this but something keeps getting changed.

The download is a trial which can be activated to the full version by entering your key given at purchase.

I have often used 2 shields, especially as cavalry. I wear one on back to catch those arrows to the back and it has proven itself several times.

With the last Beta version I had a problem with blacked out faces and other textures and had to set directx 7 instead of 9 to fix it.
When I purchased the finished game and downloaded from Taleworlds I uninstalled the beta Warband and selected to keep save files (in hopes I would not lose my character for multiplayer). Cleaned up my harddrive, defragmented, then installed the finished game. Then I was able to play using directx 9 again and I still had my character for multiplayer.
Many complaints I see of graphics problems are from ATI graphics processors and this has been discussed before in several threads. Nvidia graphics processors seem to be the least troublesome.

I used to be able to play with no problems but with this latest patch I had to set directx 7, instead of directx 9.
It has at least made me able to play without blacked out textures and freezing screens.

I was going through withdrawals and the other links did not work, but yours does

I changed the directx from 9 to 7 and it fixed it for me.
Hopefully this will be corrected soon because we should not have to revert to an older directx to play.
Directx 9 worked fine for me before.
