The best way to earn money/ raise levels/ make your companions killing machines, is to go to Rivacheg and start killing Sea Riders & Tundra Bandits (once Sea Riders are depleted), but just you and your companions... if there is no Ransom Broker in Rivacheg go to Wercheg.... with 2 on Prisoner and Inventory Managment you can make tons of gold selling the loot and capturing people, AND you and your companions will lvl up very fast...

Right now im at lvl 29 with my companions at lvl 20ish fully geared (plates) with some 60k in gold... (Difficulty just over 100%, no cheats, vanilla)....

An impoverished noble starts with a banner, yes... otherwise getting enough renown and becoming a vassal (not sure if its AND or OR) and you will get your own banner...

Not sure if being a woman and becoming married with a guy that already has his own banner will let you have one yourself...=S

Jameyeed castle also bugged... damn my char has more than 200 days and ive just lost all my companions... and cant get them back... ive freed lots of people from castles and this is my first bugged one..=(

ARGHHH i dont want to start a new game!!!!

Ill have to get the other set of companions...=(

Edit: Just after writing here i saw the new patch... the bug is fixed for Jameyeed castle...=)

Now you can talk with  ur companions...=)

The screen should also say... "This Patch is sponsored by the Nords..."

What ive tried so far....

Just at night go to teh closest village... go to the elder and talk to him... he will give you an option to start a fire... ask him to do it just at midnight.

Go to the castle and wait for midnight... enter the castle...

If you are at war with the faction it will be very hard since you will sneak in with a stick and some robes... and they can (or not) catch you trying to go in...

If you are at peace you will enter fully geared.

Talk to the prison guard and ask to see the prisoner then ask for the key...

Attack/kill the guard, enter the prison before the rest of the guards arrive. Talk to the prisoner, and ask him to follow you (even if hes behind bars in a cell)... go outside to teh courtyard...  make the prison follow you (F1 F2)... since there is a fire in the nearby village you should face less guards...

KILL THEM ALL

Done!

At least this have worked for me and never got any sort of bugs, altho there is a lot of people reporting bugs in these rescue missions...

If you siege the castle and get it you will lose them all for good... dont do it...

Some people seems to get a bug but other dont...

I think your only chance is to leave the faction, enter the castle fully geared, talk to the guard, demand the key, kill him, enter the dungeon... and try to break out...

Actually you are wasting his time.... ive loved all the games your dad loves (starting with sid meier's Pirates! on C64) and if he can accept the dumb AI of the TW series or its poor strategic campaign, my guess is that he will oversees the glitches and bugs and embrace the freedom and possiblities of M&B... sure sometimes i turned off my PC  but in the end its totally worth for me...

Never tried to rescue people from that castle but ive done it in several other castles (yes last night with 105).

Never found any bugs so far. Just kill the prison guard in front of the prison, enter, talk to your buddies ask them to follow, go out to the courtyard, personally i try to hide them in the courtyard so they stay in cover, go and kill the 6 - 7 guards that are in the castle, and at least in all my breakout attempts, thats it....

Not sure if there are any bugs associated to a castle or to some character, ive rescued my companions 3 or 4 times (yes they wiped me several times last night) and some lady's husband a couple of times...

My companions have been imprisoned several times... yes being a bad players makes me lose many battles...

First find out where your companions are...

Go to that castle disguise and enter (if you are already at peace with that faction just enter the courtyard, this is best since you will have your full gear), talk to the prison guard and demand the key. Kill him and enter the prison. Talk to your buddies and ask them to follow without fighting. Go out to the courtyard and makes your companions follow you so you can hide them behind a house for ex.

If any of your buddies are down or you are about to fall try to reach the entrance to the castle and enter, it will reset the breakout attempt...

Fight the 6-7 guards, win and you are all free... if you are at war with the faction its a hard fight since you will have no armor and just a stick... of course trying to grab a shield and sword from a body is a must since there are several archers around...

At least this worked for me...
