    You mean the hp reduction number? If you mean that then indeed it would be nice to have an option to disable that.

    EDIT: I think I know what you mean now, the hit indicator when you shoot a ranged weapon. Sorry just rarely use range weapon, so took me a while to nice it. Indeed nothing for that that I can see.

    Having mouse sensitivity for attack and block movement been separated from the camera movement speed. Seem to problem with the game accepting my input properly compared to previous games, as % of very fine movement that are correctly read seem lower, so have to raise mouse sensitivity but that cause the camera to swing around a bit too wildly.

    View character letting you look around without turning the character itself, while in first person.

    Make view character let you look around in 1st person like previous games.

    In previous game you could press the key for view character in first person to look around without turning your body, which in great part why always rebounded it to Q key. Would be appreciated if this behaviour could be returned, as got lot of utility for people who always play in first person...

    You can set it in gameplay

    No you can't, there is only never, range only and melee only. There is an always option in previous game.

    Title pretty much say it all. Always played with it set to always in previous game, having camera dissociated from horse movement is driving me insane and hurt my combat capability. Also at the time of this posting, turn camera with horsey might just be broken, as simply doesn't turn no matter...

    Actually when you start out 2 arrow with 3 power draw and a hunting bow + barbed arrow (which is the only type of bow and arrow you can have a character start with by going poacher) barely kill looter if they wearing nomad armor and you shot them in the chest. So it sure not gonna kill elite troop in heavy armor and sea raider in one/two arrow if not head shot.

    Are you sure all arrow hit him and not his shield, what kind of armor he wearing and where are you hitting him.

    As for cavalry running you down, just put a shield on your back and bust it out when you see them coming.

    From what he say he playing battle so he will have to get one from a corpse or someone giving his first and if among first to die that a bit hard, if he not playing Khergit, who are only archer who get shield in the equipment choice. =)

    Since you said you cheat, are you sure you don't have habit to using bow with 10 skill in power draw and insanely high bow proficiency ?

    There is no 1.06 version, all the version that were release are 1.101 (original release version), 1.102, 1.103, 1.104, 1.105 and now 1.110


    Not sure if 1.100 was ever released to public (guess it the physical retail version, for don't know of any online retailer that ever had it)

    Actually AI actually do friendly fire now, saw that while fighting steppe bandit and I was the only one left and the horse archer one shooted the horses down of some that tried to melee me, and AI archer do shoot plenty when no ally in the way. Put the archer in front of the infantry and wait for enemy to get close before advancing infantry, if you don't have a nice hill for the archer and use cavalry to intercept enemy cavalry until unit are in position (admit that a bit hard to do with pure Rhodok or Nord =p)


    But I admit I didn't test out much archer miltiple row formation yet, which I admit could be troublesome with the new way AI archer are more careful due to the fact they can actually kill allies now. =p

    But I admit it might actually be too careful, shall do more testing of that when I finaly lose my current army (on vaegir side but they gave me a Khergit village when I became a vassal, so have khergit army currently)

    Damage is decrease a lot also since on horse you only yield them with 1 hand. So only real advantage of two handed weapon on horseback is the range. So the most damaging weapon on horse back are actually 1 handed axe (one handed battle axe (76 reach 37dmg), iron war axe (71 reach 38dmg) or military cleaver if you want more reach (35dmg 96reach, only two handed weapon ahead is great axe 50-51dmg), the military pick if you want percing (90 reach 27dmg), while blunt is the only damage type where a 2 handed weapon is at the head of damage since of the huge difference between great hammer (45dmg, highest 2h blunt damage) and military hammer (25 dmg, highest 1h blunt damage).


    EDIT: Not counting Long axe and all it variation for I think it stupid to be able to swing them in 2 handed mode from horseback.

We are in 2010 and even the cheapest entry level cpus are dual core. And lots of people have quad core systems. Why this game dont support more than one core?     Did you update your directx to the latest update, game use some element that were added with it, also update video card driver if you didn't do so. For I don't think the trouble is CPU related for game is build to multi tread, which is the standard option, for there is actually an option in the configure menu to force single treading to help single core CPU. I can run the game 150 people battle on high quality with an AMD 64 3500+ and a ATI 3850HD 512MB. (But I admit I play a bit lower to be sure there is no slow down to noticeable level).

    If everything is updated then go in msconfig and in teh service tab deactivate "ati hotkey poller" which most chance is a feature you don't use and just drain ressource (or don't if you actually use setting switch on hotkey). Also try switching your ATI catalyst AI and mipmap detail level, got noticeable increase in performance by switching the AI to advanced (which normaly cause more trouble with most game) and the mipmap detail level down to quality from high quality. It those switch in setting that let me play on high quality before that I had to play with 50% texture (cause I was getting major lag due to some texture at higher quality) while now I can play with 100% texture.

    Also other setting to try to switch and see how it go in the configure menu would be load texture on demand, having it on normaly help with loading speed but create some problem with certain hardware from what I know.


    EDIT: Also when you get a slow down try something. Alt+tab out then back in the game, I get performance back to normal like 95% of the time when I do so. But that just a temporary solution for after a while it will no longer counter problem until you restarted the game for there is currently a memory leck. But it does help maintain the game with good performance the first few time it happen until I am in a better position to quit the game and start it again, with the trouble I am getting on my side.

    Man  :smile: u wrote many irrelated things thanks anyway, this is not my systems problem (directx, drivers or ati hotkey poller blabla) but game. The game itself dont utilize 2nd core of cpu thats the problem. If you have looked to ss that i posted, the task manager shows %50 of my cpu used which means only one core is using. So this is NOT enough for this game as the performance results shows. You said that u have a athlon 3500+ single core cpu and my cpu is athlon 5000+ dual core, im getting almost same performance as yours because of game.

    Like I told you the game multi tread already. So the trouble is not the game, but how your computer process those tread if the trouble come to actually be that the game doesn't work on multiple core for you. And multi-core computer don't process a tread on other core if main core can process them all. So like I told you the problem is elsewhere, might even be your processor that not perfectly tuned.

    And reason I said my processor is because a 3500+ is 2.2Ghz so even a single core working is faster for you then me, which like I said I can run the game perfectly fine on high with 150 unit on the battle field (slow down are when unit spawn or that a lot of rag doll going on, those are mostly gone by reducing character detail to minimum [which is not noticeable quality difference in battle, for I don't play archer so don't care about long range quality, reduce shadow quality from very high to high and putting tree to minimum (like I care about look of tree during battle =p]), which point out even more the trouble is not how the game send info to process to your CPU.
