1. boats and sea battle is an incredible idea! im sure its been mentioned before but i dont see how it would be hard to impliment. would just need to attach harbors on to towns along the coasts and allow the purchase of boats.

2. your own vassels while being in a faction already would kinda be like your companions i would think..

3. retainers would be a great idea. men who stick close to you instead of you following them. they will jump out in-front of you if they see a threat etc.. good idea!

4. could just as easily fit in a companion that when talking to you could send out on a recruiting/training side-quest.

5. not sure i understand your last line. do you really need nobels along with the rest of your party?

what do you mean by purchase of feifs to avoid war? like "gimme that castle or il slaughter you all!" sort of thing?

other than talking to them manually, how do we know that all the companions you have come across have sworn to fight for you under any rank and circumstance? what if you promote the first companion you met? a man that was with you since the beginning?? why do the others have to suddenly lash out like that?

this is like the hand resting on the hilt of your sword. some swords your hand just seems to float above the hilt but stil in a comfortable resting position.

ive never brought up a companion with such a rank but i agree if this is the case. why do the others frown at you?

i agree. village battles would be nice to battle in against other lords rather than mad farmers with pitchforks or bandits raiding the village.

i always disliked it too when you couldnt do anything about a village being raided.

i would also like to be able to help the lord of my choosing while approaching the battle.

i agree with the OP. way too much bunching up on when charging. AI has to make space for themselves so they can function in their attacks.

though AI in games is tough to make effective, Munchkin is right, there are some things that could be adjusted to make the AI more realistic.

o thank the gods. this happened to me last night and i followed the marshall for way too long. My own party is not even that loyal to me... i finally said screw it and took off, taking the negative rep.

i think im switching realms anyway. rhodoks are mostly infantry. going with the realm of vaegirs.

What is more exciting? getting knocked off your horse and killed before getting up? Or being able to roll away before an axe is chopped down on your head?

This wont stop people from getting killed mid flight off your horse... but it gives you that second chance if you do happen to survive the fall.

For example... look at my avatar. He looks vulnerable i know because he is in the nude... but would that stop him from rolling to the side before getting up and ready to attack again?
