    Questions on Agility focused characters

    bakters 说:
For me high riding skill is a "nice to have" but not a necessity.  Higher speed surely helps, but I can live without it.

Anyway, all of this discussion feels a bit weird to me, because concentrating on combat stats does not give you a very powerful character.  Pumping INT and gaining lots of leader bonuses to party skills does that.  In light of that whether you waste some points on Strength or Agility is simply a matter of personal preference.  It will change the way you play, but in the end the results will not be all that great, especially in field battles where your own contributions is usually quite insignificant, even if your character is totally focused on combat.

Combat stats are simply not that important.

Yeah, I get this. I tend to always play INT-heavy characters, so I figured I'd try something different for a change.

    Questions on Agility focused characters

I've been toying with the idea of playing an agility-focused character, but I tend to get sidetracked to another build before I can see it really start to shine. So I have a few questions. 1. What encumbrance limit should I try to maintain? (in other words "if you go over this, you might as...

    Efficiently commanding troops?

Okay, I'm starting to get used to the command controls now. Just had kind of a shock with how poorly I wound up doing with my early attempts.

I'm really curious about the mods you mentioned, though. I'm running 1.160, but the mod's page says its for 1.15x. Is it still compatible with the latest?

    Efficiently commanding troops?

I want to start making better use of my troops, but I'm finding the troop commands really really awkward to use. Either I have to park myself behind a tree and try to do everything with the Backspace menu, or I try guessing at the command options on the numbers and F keys and end up making the...

    Least favorite quest?

    1. Capture x number of y troop type. Because lords INSIST on giving me this quest any time I don't have enough points in prisoner management or troops with blunt weapons, and then throw a fit when I refuse due to it being physically impossible.

    2. Follow spy. I've never succeeded in this mission, as you need very good tracking/spotting skills in addition to being psychic to even stand a chance of not being spotted.

    3. Anything involving cattle.

    Ghost Manhunter party

    Average 说:
well, its a game glitch, but when things turn invisible, no matter what if your in windowed mode or Full Screen. Hit alt tab. Then once its done, it may fix itself, or still look the same, then hit alt tab to go back to your original screen. It should solve invisible or missing parts of maps.

I think you misinterpreted my post or replied to the wrong thread. This is about a "party" still existing despite having no members remaining, not even KO'd ones.

    Ghost Manhunter party

Well this was kind of amusing. Starting out a new game, I found a party of 4 manhunters being attacked by a dozen forest bandits. I joined the battle to help, but all 4 manhunters got themselves killed in battle anyway. But since I still won the battle, I was still congratulated and thanked by...

    Issue with Feasts

Do you have a lot of lords trying to defect to your side? If so, it's probably time to start giving 'em the boot. There is a limit on the number of lords and ladies appearing in a castle.

I forget whether or not the game will randomize which lords appear when it's too crowded, so you may wanna try popping in and out a few times.

Let me escape if i'm faster.

I believe the thought behind that is that your men are all on foot to loot and pillage things.

However, I do agree that you should always be able to escape when your party is faster, unless multiple enemy parties have you surrounded. Furthermore, any fast-forward time on the map ought to stop the instant an enemy party is approaching you. I've lost count of the number of unwanted battles I got dragged into because of that.

How do you not-suck with throwing weapons?

Simple question. Is there a "right" way to use throwing weapons in this game that I haven't discovered yet? They have proven to be absolutely worthless to me every time I tried to use them. Even on a character focused on throwing had no real accuracy or even predictable range with them.

Have you tried to own a Kingdom...

Just figured I'd give an update on my Upstanding-lords-only faction.

    Short version:
    We won.

    Long version:
It's quite nice starting a kingdom with these guys once the other factions' treason/defect revolving door starts. In a kingdom full of only upstanding vassals, none of them will ever have conflict with each other. Meanwhile, all the other kingdoms are stuck with jerklords with no land and only 40-ish troops, that refuse to work together and are thus easily conquered.

The only problem with the long wait before this starts is that it means the last fiefs you take will be VERY well defended. Don't leave Rhodok territory for the late game unless you want a bit of a "boss fight" in your final conquest.

    Looking for Opinions on progress.

I typically avoid Dhirim until my country has a good foothold, since it seems to be the AI's favorite target fief. Once you take it, stock it with as many troops as you can ASAP. Put some high-tier troops in the top of the list, then just keep dumping recruits, militia, and mercenaries to boost the garrison's numbers. The AI fears quantity more than quality.

How exactly do party skills work? Do they increase skill linearly?

    Squire Willoughby Fox 说:
I heard it was something like "you use the highest, and every character who has 3 in that skill gives him a +1 bonus", or sth like that.

To get the effective level of any party skill*:
    1. Take the skill level of whoever has the highest level of the party skill
    2. Add 40% of the leader's level in that skill, rounded down

    Examples:
    You have 3 surgery, Jeremus has 5. Effective level = 5 + (3*0.40) = 6
    You have 10 Pathfinding, Borcha has 8. Effective level = 10 + (10*0.40) = 14

*This doesn't apply to Trainer. Each player or hero character applies trainer (at their own trainer skill level) to all party members below their own level.

Stuff it took you way too long to figure out

There's a lot of things in Mount & Blade that either aren't explained well, or just aren't explained period. What's a feature that you simply didn't know about for way longer than you should have? Here are a few of mine: 1. On the character screen, clicking the name lets you change it. 2. On...

Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord Suggestions List

Here is what I'd like to see in Mount & Blade 2:

    1. More information.
There are far too many situations in Mount & Blade where the player is asked to make a blind decision, or where knowing "some but not all" of the info can be harmful. This is really the main thing I'd like to see improved for a sequel. Some particular examples:
    • If options in character creation affect my stats, tell me how they affect it and what my current totals are.
    • If I have a choice to start in one of several locations, they either should all have the same level of danger, or have the more dangerous ones noted somehow. Starting a brand new player in Sea Raider or Steppe Bandit territory with bare basic gear is a horrible way to make a first impression.
    • If a word is used in a unit's title, it should be used consistently. Why is a "Veteran" tier 3 for Sarranids and Vaegirs, tier 4 for Rhodoks, and tier 5 for Nords and Khergits?
    • If a skill increases or decreases something, please give me some numbers. It's hard to weigh "Horse Archery or Athletics?" when all I'm given is "Vaguely better A or Vaguely better B?"
    • If a NPC is asking if I want to do a quest at Town A, please give me some way of knowing whether Town A is that one down the road or that one on the other end of the continent.
    • If the way you should act around a NPC is determined by some trait or value of the NPC, you should have some way of knowing or immediately figuring it out, without needing to maintain an external list based on how they greeted you when you first met.
    • When the marshall tells me to complete a task and then return to him, he really ought to tell me where he plans on going while I'm away...

    2. Streamlined everything
Please. I'm playing the game so I can lead armies, storm castles, and crush kingdoms. I'm not particularly interested in climbing some massive hill at the back end of a village every single time I want to talk to the elder. I'm not interested in vibrating my hand on my mouse button to upgrade my 25 new recruits. And why are so many towns designed to make you get off your horse if you want to find the guild master? Simply put, there's a lot of things in the current game that could be made a lot less clunky in the sequel.

    3. No quest that makes you feel useless
Or more precisely, it shouldn't feel like you're being dragged away from the main gameplay because you undertook a specific quest. "Mount and Blade" doesn't really imply "please herd my cattle", does it? Variety is nice, but it should still feel like it fits within the core gameplay.

    Missing/Disappeared Lord

My first guess would be that he was exiled by his king without you noticing. See if he's in the character list as Count/Jarl/Boyar/Emir Whatshisname, or as Whatshisname Noyan

    Otherwise, no idea.

Have you tried to own a Kingdom...

This is precisely what I'm doing in my current playthrough. Every single lord in my kingdom is the type that likes you for having honor, so I never have to micro-manage them. Here's what I did:

    Early game:
Long trading routes to build wealth. I made it a point to help any lord I saw imprisoned in a castle or town, building relations and honor. All heroes were immediately sent on support missions to build Right to Rule. I also set up enterprises in every city

    Working for a faction:
Joined Vaegirs and helped them eliminate two factions, the Nords and Khergits. Nords so I can freely use Huscarls later on without worrying about fighting their mother faction. Khergits because I just hate fighting them on the map. I spent a long time afterwards just building up crazy amounts of troops. The game was going on really long by this point, and lords were starting to defect/exile frequently. The next time war started, I went on a conquering binge with my Huscarls until the king eventually denied my request to own the fief. A nice side effect of the constant exiling and defecting (and thus low king-vassal relations) is that all fiefs were going to either the king or myself, so I was able to take like a quarter of the map with me.

    Starting my kingdom:
By this point, I had excellent relations with all of the upstanding lords. And since all of the lords were already jumping from kingdom to kingdom, I immediately had a handful of lords on my side. I could also immediately tell which ones are upstanding simply because of the relation level built up over time from honor. I didn't get much time to try out my vassals in combat since the Vaegirs already had multiple wars going and made peace with me very quickly. But at the moment I have 10 upstanding lords with 140ish soldiers each, and I'm just waiting for the next war to break out. I didn't have to persuade a single one of them to join my side.

If you're wondering about my character itself, he's int-based so a bunch of the party skills are at level 14.

Best way to train combat skills in single player?

There's a part in the game tutorial specifically for weapon blocking. Just talk to one of the Novice/Regular/Veteran Fighter NPCs.

Alternatively, you could go to one of the Training Fields in the regular singleplayer campaign and keep doing one-on-one sparring matches against your troops.

    making a new kingdom

    Original Post:
Make sure you have a good amount of Right to Rule before declaring yourself king. I've seen varying values for what's "a good amount", but 30 would be the low end I believe. Also make sure you have good garrisons defending your cities. Have some good troops in the top of the list in case you must defend it in battle, and then pack it full of recruits since the AI fears quantity more than quality.

    BadOreo:
What if the player rounds up some huscarls and goes on a conquering binge? If I remember right, the kings don't want to give too much to one person, or too much in a short amount of time.

2 Bugs or working as intended ( Taxes and Lord Defection )

    Hoood 说:
Also it is good to know that some of those dickheads who change sides more frequently than i change underwear get exiled sooner or later, its really irritating me when they keep jumping from one side to another, also when knight is exiled is he still in the game, just independent or he is removed from game?

When one of the lords is exiled from Calradia, they're removed from the game. Their info page in the Characters section will just say "Count Suchandsuch has left the realm".
