Can I still play my saved game?
    No. Im afraid not.
You can export and import your character though. But that's about it

What happens if I simply remove all files except saved and then try to load? Does it crash?
  3. I want an autonomous anarcho syndicate commune faction.

Roger i'll send him an email during the weekend.
  4. 150 days into vanilla version, should i quit to a popular mod?

I would definetly go for one of those story-quest mods or complete  changes like the pre-historic mods.

Everything else is just eye candy and is the same "boring" stuff over again after 150 days
That isn one of the very good mods that locklear recommended. Those should have been installed from the start :p

  6. Bug Reports

Alarming, extremely important, ****ed up bug.

Schwarl....something somethign (the most southern city of Denmark) is extremely bugged.
Tavern and shop doors lead to "city center". Prison door leads to "shop", castle door from inside leads to "castle", castle door from outside leads to "tournament" when there isn't a tournament the game almost crashes. EDIT: Seems you fixed this bug, maybe the rest is also fixed and caused by the prison bug? Cheers.

Sometimes you won't be able to read how much damage you did or if it was a headshot.
During these battles with this bug the top right map is also often bugged, not showing your correct position and showing 3-5 enemy and 3-5 freindly dots evenly seperated in the bottom that don't actually exist.

Other possible bugs: Training doesn't seem to work, or perhaps I don't understand it but it seems my peasants aren't getting trained, only my heroes. Perhaps this is normal. Also quite possible that training from my own hero onto others isn't working, instead a newely recruited hero that has training as his skill is training the rest of us. I don't recall being able to train ANYONE with 4 in training during most of my game without the other hero who has training.

  7. The Biggest Army, you have ever seen!

That's all awesome and stuff, really is. Was fun to see. But seriously, get a life-

    Taleworld are such Capitalist pigs......

Petit burgeois is what they are, trying to fit in with the exploiters but never quite making it! Doing their dirty little tricks to fool us proletariats.

(Seriously we should all acknowledge how hard it is for small indie companies to make it and all that...I'm serious and if taleworlds REALLY needed the money it's ok. But otherwise anyone who can't agree that this was a **** move is a...****.)

If M&B and M&B:WB are so similar and you own first game, why bother complaining about Warband's price? Just play M&B! Use mods, they are free if you're bored playing vanilla game.

I bought Warband and am happy about my decision. I'm not happy about bugs or their quantity, but I see them being fixed fast.

    Lotus Dragon
COD:Modern Warfare 2 is based on COD:Modern Warfare. You can even find parts of old levels.
Both games cost $60 at start, no discounts for those who purchased first game. I don't get why people complain about $30 game and $30 expansion.

Don't want it? Don't buy it.

lol. I complain about tons of stuff even though I don't buy it. I don't get in line and do as I am told. Now bugger of you decadent product of the bourgeois society.  As most people have pointed out. Mount and Blade Warband is perhaps worth even 40 bucks as a standalone game, despite the utterly crappy siegemode and bugs. But for those who already had MB it is unfair. I still got the game but it's bull**** really.

I'd totaly be happy if the state confiscated Taleworlds property and distributed it to the proletariat of this working community that have been here since before Warband! Im just in a commie mood since reading proapganda for May the First demonstrations, sorry.

Edit: Also in all seriousness and honesty MW2 is an overpriced, pig on a lipstick sort of game that indulges in completely brainless violence (compared to CS which is totaly not brainless) while as you said having parts of even old levels in it. I pitty the fool who payed for it.
So don't get me wrong, I complain about MW2 also, far more.
  10. In Defense of the Automatic Block

Actually manual blocking 1v1 is quite easy. It's just a pain in the ass to do so when there's 2 or more people attacking you, then bashing the block button repeatedly is more fun and easier.

I don't really get why it would be so hard to master manual blocking in duelmode multiplayer. You got 4 direction, it's like some simplified dancemat simulator.
  11. I want an autonomous anarcho syndicate commune faction.

I mean how various lords within the Anarcho Syndicate faction and factions outside would react to the constant changing of "king".
Some might have bad relations with one king, on the verge to rebelling and forming their own faction and then BAM there's a guy they love.

Im not sure how the AI creates relations between leaders and kings of different factions though. I'd imagine that someone who has been in previous wars with someone else dislikes that person and a new war has a greater chance. But with the very lack of depth in this game I sorta doubt this is the case.
  12. I want an autonomous anarcho syndicate commune faction.

I fully agree wtih you. This thread DOES need more wookies. But I digress, my biggest fear with the anarcho syndicate commune mod would be AI going bat**** insane and not knowing how to react and how you would code the scripts when someone has more than 1 village.

Maybe one could limit each of these lords to only one village instead? That would be easier to code for the AI, but then what would happen in time of war?
  13. I want an autonomous anarcho syndicate commune faction.

Who ever makes it for me will have my respect and gratitude. For weird women in lakes is no legitimate reason for supreme executive power. Really though, maybe this could be a serious topic? My idea is to simply form a faction that would have a king changed every 1 month...
  14. Anyone feel the same as me?

I was talking more about some physics stuff.
    Note: This is uneducated speculation

Don't you wish you could kind of create an infantry square that would be able to brace itself a calvary charge?
Or how about more of shock feeling when charging formations.
How about a different way to calculate armor penetration?
If there was a possibility that arrows could bounce off plate, because it's simply hitting at an angle that it bounces off on?

Adding the capability for flail type items?

    That sort of thing
    ,

Agreed, as I explained in a thread earlier the engine is ancient history, if that (as Half Life 1 had a better one in my opinion )
I'm also not talking about graphics but physics.  Still I think it's only affecting sieges. I'd rather see more dialouge added, more options for cities, persistent events, added controls like crouching, limiting the AI's sight just like you are limited in fog-combat when it comes to archery and so on.

I think that in the way the game is designed the ancient engine is nearly enough and you shouldn't fix somethign that isn't broken. But it would be alot of fun for the modders - or at least I can imagine it would.
  15. You guys all seem like pro's.

    How do you mean slow?

Actually my biggest overall problem is that I am to slow. The AI is always faster than me cause I'm carrying alot and have infantry/archers and they are always on horseback. I guess later in game when you are fighting lords they also have infantry and so it becomes easier in that regard.

If I just could order some of my troops to ****ING STAY inside a town while I go out on some special mission with cavalry half my worries would be gone.
  16. Adding some substantial story into the game

    Berserker Pride 说:
I would far rather that the  characters and your interactions with them be fleshed out.  If there dialogue was good and dynamic enough the game could totally be its own story.

Exacly that is what I would like to see also. But that would be a storyline, just one that you make yourself. Now there isn't any.
But I guess what they wanted to do is a world that interacts with itself. In Oblivion which I mention earlier and other RPG's YOU interact with the world. Every interaction the world has with itself is almost always scripted. Here it is not. Here the AI decides the interaction.

The more dialouge options you have, especially among ordinary citizens caravans and raiders the harder it would be for them to interact with each other. But perhaps you could make it so that only YOU and nobody else saw these options? This though would put you on an unfair advantage with the computer controlled cities.

Nothing is easy  But at least I can dream of a Mountblivion.
  17. Adding some substantial story into the game

    MaHuD 说:
    SANDBOX game.
We all know what's bad in this game.
The storyline is one. Or if you don't want to call it a storyline call it plot, call it character, call it soul. This game lacks all of this.

There should be a history and the game should follow from that part in history, ever evolving. But it doesn't. The enviroment is stagnat.
There's no new cities being founded, no old ones beind destroyed. There aren't really any subplots, the villagers have nothing to say.
Oblivion did this far better for example. So has the various Troika games and Never Winter Nights.

I think we all wish for a Mount and Blade + Oblivion unification.
I think there's no one here that wouldn't like actual intrigue or subplots/quests and some form of character in the ordinary citizens around Mount and Blade. That doesn't mean it needs to follow a strict storyline.

Wow just imagine that, kingdombuilding and combat of MB and quest/character system and world of Oblivion. Yez plzzz

Edit. Actually change that, I'd like to keep the reputation system of MB. The rest of the quest system and subplots should be more like Oblivion, just ever evolving and ever changing (or repeating).
  18. Siege Weapons

Cause siege combat is still in pre-alpha stage

To do siege combat they'd need a destructable enviroment and with the AI getting stuck behind stuff like bushes I doubt it's high on their agenda considering all the debree. It would also demand alot more powerfull computers thus limiting their sales and it would probably demand alot of recoding. Some mods seem to have been able to do some form of destructable enviroment like when you shoot at barrles they "disappear" leaving fire around them.

I belive that if someone, like yourself suggested battering rams instead of trebuchets to break the doors of a castle, or even asked for a mod like this then people would listen, as that would definetly be possible. This since you'd be able to designate a specific area which would simply be removed after taking X dmg, instead of having to redo the entire physics engine again.
  19. Every faction should have a Pike

Well cleary this game has it's inherit problems.

In reality a pikeman ofcourse wouldn't be able to do **** with his pike if the infantryman managed to block/divert his first one or two attacks.
But here he can continue to swing it and it doesn't matter if the infantryman gets hit by the wooden part or the metal part, he still takes dmg.
Also the fact that a pikeman can block a thrust or that ANYONE can block a thrust with an other weapon with ease is just bollocks.

Many of us argued in the past (me on an other account) that you should only be able to block that which actually hits your blockage area and not that there should be an invisible forcefield around your entire stomache and legs when you do the DOWN ARROW + BLOCK move...but they didn't really listen as it probably would have made combat for AI alot harder to code.

On-Topic: I thought they actually made infantry stronger than before, or so it is rumoured and pikes slightly weaker against horses. But really, infantry is supposed to get owned by cavalry in most cases. Try to have a tight formation with big shields, telling everyone to stand ground and hold fire. Then have arches behind shooting. Every faction didn't have good "pike" formations in reality and obviously factions with low iron production shouldn't have it if we were to be realistic as it would be to expensive.

Though you should be able to hire pike formations in the form of mercenaries like the Swiss. This is very hard to do sadly, very rare.
