I'm not a king, but I have noticed that the lords do seem to garrison troops, slowly but surely...

The troops they garrison slowly level up as well.  One of the castles I pass by near my own has like 50 Footman and 32952398 archers..

I've had very little trouble with the game.  Part of me wonders if others on these forums are doing something that isn't recommended and/or play a unique style.

The quest to start a war with a certain faction is still there.  In my game, as a Nord lord, another lord wanted to start a war with the new Arab-like faction.  I said no due to the long distance travelling...

Honestly I had peace for about six months straight until I figured out I could go out and just start capturing Swadian places of interest as much as I wanted without repercussions from my own kingdom.  The Swadians, however, have a -75 opinion of me.

Feel free to do that, or just wait.  Sometimes your kingdom just will not go to war for whatever political reason.  From what I've been able to gather this happens due to all wanted and/or old territory being held.  In this case you'd simply have to wait until the faction that lost their territory declares war.

I have the texture problem as well it seems.  It was really bad, but after I updated my Nvidia driver it was drastically reduced.  It almost appears to be focused out of something.  Is it lighting oriented?  If you look at my second screenshot, it seems as though it might be from the sun or some other sort of reflection.  The guard on the left has the texture issue fully with the right guard only sporting the green on his left.  The lady only has the texture mishap on her shoes... maybe it's a new fashion?

Which are both understandable. I too would advise to wait a bit with the harsh judgements and see what happens next.

1) I do feel the graphics aren't incredibly polished, but that may be partially because of my computer hardware.  I was use to being able to run EVERYTHING on high, now I can't. xD

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking, but I think you can give whatever fief you want to any lord or companion.

I'm pretty sure you can without consequence.  I had about three women around 25, no problems.  Ended up marrying the one with only 21. xD

The forums have been rather sketchy lately.  My guess is the site doesn't have enough bandwidth allocated and it's bugging out everything.  It's highly probable they didn't expect the amount of attention Warband would bring. xD  I mean look at Valve and Steam.. they had this happen on both midnight releases for the L4D series.

Now to your question.  I'm not entirely sure about Inventory Management, but I think your companions should be able to have it count towards your party.  I honestly haven't paid much attention to it in WB, but in MB1 I believe that was the case.  For Training, I've had my own character focus on that.  Depending on your character, it may be best to get one of the companions like you did.  For persuasion I think it's useless in my experiences.  I can't deny or confirm it being useful or not.

Morale is not hard to maintain at all.  I've never gone past Below Average.  For me the key is to make sure you have the standard variety of food and make sure you at least attack SOMETHING every few days.  During peacetime this is hard, but look for where the main bandit groups are.  Each bandit type has a certain area they chill at since one of the mini-quests for their hideout is near by.  I.E. Forest Band Camp in Swadia.

I've done campaigns with Swadians against Swadia and it works out fine.  I don't have my ENTIRE army full of em though... they do take a big hit out of morale.

It ended up working fine for me, but that was mostly because of a LONG peacetime as the Nords.  I think we didn't have any war for six months. O_O  (I eventually just started doing war on my own!)

One weird thing though is that it certainly happened, but instead of the father doing the feast it was another lord.  When I went to the feast, I simply went up to the father and it happened...

There are a few differences between strengths and weakness in this one.  At least in my opinion, anyway...

Nords are pretty good against most of the factions once you get up to the higher levels.  When you're starting out be prepared to lose a lot since they're relatively weak.  Nords are still very strong against Swadia and Vaegirs, but the Vaegirs have been improved some.  Nords are still relatively weak against the Khergits, but that's because of Cavalry vs Infantry.

I haven't encountered too many bugs myself and I've been put at least twelve hours into the game.  The game does seem to enjoy crashing during the siege of Dhirim though.  There are a few graphical stability issues as well, but a short term solution is to just turn the graphics down.  HDR and other new features cause way too many glitches for me at the moment.

Overall I'm thoroughly enjoying the game.  The Left 4 Dead 2 comparison was spot on.  L4D2 was L4D perfected.  This is M&B = awesome x10.

According to the Best Buy website, it came out on the 16th.   Their online selling of it seems to be backordered though.

I don't know when it'll actually appear in store.  According to their store checker, none of them have a copy yet.

TaleWorlds is definitely not my favorite developer, nor is M&B my favorite game.  I haven't played M&B in a few months as well.  I just hate seeing people talk a lot of bad about a game they aren't giving a legitimate chance.

I'd get Warbands if I were you.  It's basically M&B and then some.  It's vanilla M&B, but adds many, many new features such as marriage options.  You can also now become a king. 

Overall, if you enjoy M&B, get Warband.  It's the same thing, but with MP and improvements.  This has caused some problems, but in all honesty I'm incredibly excited for it.  I bought M&B about a year and a half ago.  I just bought Warbands.
