Where would it be located?
What about visas for Russian and Turkish players? Lots of esports organisations have this particular problem.
What if your players can't attend due to work or school?
How many people can you possibly bring per team in order to make the cost reasonable?

Financing a LAN would cost at least 5k to 10k (or more) just in flight tickets alone.

So Lagstro's next recommendation is clearly the best.

You mean nVidia GeForce Experience? If you open it, does its update check and finds nothing, then yes the correct driver should be installed.
If that's not the issue, might be worth checking out https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3081424 . It's an update that brings a D3d9.dll with it if it's not installed already (That's DX9).
However, Warband crashing because of this should give you an explicit error message saying that particular file is either corrupted or missing.

Warband works fine on my Win10 computer. Did you install the Windows 10 video card driver(s)? They're different than the Win7/8.1 ones, at least for nvidia.
