I think this is a little deceptive in my opinion. Warband is the same game as Mount&Blade (to which we were promised lifetime upgrades). Just because a new version has a few extra features and is a named version, does not mean it is a new game. This is certainly not the convention in other games, is it? Adding MP and a few other tweaks is not a new game.

Actually, it's a convention in other games yes. Ever head of Civ 3lay the World? How about all 83 Sims expansions they've released? Those are new games. Actually, to be honest, Warband has more features than the average stand alone expansion pack. Why people can't understand that this is a new game is beyond me. Maybe M&B is played by geezers who haven't bought a game since Darklands. I'm not sure. The only problem I have with it is that they call it a sequel when it surely isn't. Also saying it added "a few extra features" seems intentionally misleading to me.

EDIT: Complaining about the value of M&B seems absurd to me. What other games allowed you to buy them for $20 in beta and then receive updates for many years and eventually a full version? Please....

Id be happy with being able to modify your starting cha in the game. This would be a neat cosmetic addition to the game.

I hope the next expansion adds: A Japanese-Chinese-style faction on an island that is actually populated by Japanese/Chinese looking people instead of white people, boats, naval combat, better terrain graphics, a lot more/better quests, more companions, multiplayer navel battles, a bigger map, bigger multiplayer battles, more armor/weapons, better sound, more food items, more buildings for towns/villages/castles, more things to do with your own player-faction.

You should work for EA.

This made my night....iv had moments where i was ***** slapped by the computer.....easy to kill hard cpu's, hard to kill easy cpu's....prob over compensating for your opponent.

Well werent things a cluster **** in battle back in the day for real...it was like a mad dash for that i-pod, but with swords, axes and shields in a no holds bar fight! they just pushed their ways through the door and the poor sods that were in the front rows were usually cut down until the enemy was just overwhelmed. Take a look at the movie "kingdom of heaven" and you will understand what i mean...here, ill just go one step further for you...It was all about being a wall of sharp, pointy flesh.

Also im not one to buy a game like this off steam, I mean im all for steam but i want a copy i can carry to computer to computer that i own without a third party program running in the background...also this is more convenient for modding as you don't have to wait on that program to load, more direct you can say

I know I am, right now I feel like punching a baby.  The reason I am pissed is because I hate how lazy the world is becoming where a gaming comunity won't cough up a mere 25$ for a game that took 6 months of development which is a complete revamp to the original game.  They sound like freeloaders and the community would do well without them.

Armagan mentioned that if it was standalone he would possibly offer a discount to owners of the original M&B if they bought from Taleworlds, but he hasn't said anything about it since so I don't know if it will or won't.

Now Gentlemen, lets not flame each other here, but simply discuss the reasons behind why the game is indeed worth the money to former players, old or not. I discount was simply an idea that will never get fabricated by taleworlds. Now there are discounts out there such as steam, but we all know what steam is about. I myself will be purchasing the game on the sole principal of supporting a great indy company, but not so much for the game content itself, aside from the multiplayer aspect. The sheer modability of the game is the main strong point for me and what I stand on. I have been around since the first version release of the game, but again, im not a forum troll who speaks just to hear himself. I like the comments im reading so far, so lets all remain civil about this and continue to post your ideas!

See I am poor as **** and coming up with a spare 25$ for the game is going to be hard for me to get but I will still try to get it.  I would have payed 25$ minimum for the multiplayer part of it solely, but they went beyond that and added a new faction, new scenes, new items, new map, balanced game play, improved bot AI., weddings, political, revamped compat system, and much more.  I think they at the very least deserve 25$ from us, and most of taleworlds would agree.  (Most of the senior members that know what the **** they are talking about would I mean)

It looks to me that only people under the forum rank of sergeant at arms is complaining.

haha, true that mate...im poor too and just ranting....iv been playing this game since the very first beta for M&b....this comes down to a left for dead vs left for dead 2 argument really....but I will see myself paying for this as well it seems! just asking for good opinions. Thanks for the feedback mate!

To be completely fair and honest, and give both sides a fair shake - it does often feel that the singleplayer of Warband is basically the same game, with some minor improvements - little that couldn't be added in a mod, although with much better quality than most.

However:

1) It's worth it.
2) Personally, I'd support this development team in any way I could - they're not some massive evil corporation of doom, they're just a bunch of guys with some really ambitious ideas. I came in on this whole Mount and Blade lark pretty late (when the 0.751 patch was released for M&B), but it's still an amazing piece of work.
3) It's cheap!
