It's OP as hell and very unrealistic too. What is it, permanent stormy weather season? A chance of it happening once a week would be fair gameplay wise (even if it is a bit too much irl). But it happening virtually every single day - sometimes multiple times a day - is way too much and needs balancing. Muh silver hurts :/

With opened sails and wind ships are faster. But maneuvering is easyer with oars.

Yes. Your ships get slower on low condition.

I'm assuming I have to turn 180 degrees around and set sail

You have to gain some distance to your starting point. 180° not necessary.

I have tried everything I can think of in maybe a dozen or so attempts. Going hard port, going hard starboard, doing those while turning left or right at top speed, getting away with oars, getting away with sails after having mostly turned around, it doesn't matter they catch up easily while my ship moves at a crawl.

I played a custom battle with a ship and the ship there, though a different make, seems to turn much faster. My ship in this campaign is the default one gained in a mission. I haven't been able to repair it before leaving. If you ask me, severe storms occuring virtually every day of sea travel is very unrealistic and detrimental gameplay-wise.

I was in the same situation as you. He's in a house near the market. There should be a "To Merchant" prompt when you find the right place.

You can check your ship status at a port while viewing ships.

Tips for sailing: put points into navigation, I suppose.

Also, the frequency of storms are ridiculous right now. I get severe weather storm notifications basically every day, and your ship condition will rapidly deteriorate within a month. One of my few gripes gameplay wise, especially in story mode where I became low on money and have to sail to other places for my missions, having to repair your ship often is expensive and so often - ship condition goes to crap with about a MONTH of use - is not only ridiculous, but hurts gameplay as well. I hope this is fixed.
