  1. Companions and Culture

I'm having a blast on my current play through by limiting myself to Companions from within my culture. There are disgruntled sentiments floating around the forum on the topic of companions, which up until this current play through, I'd find difficult to refute. There's obvious utility to cherry...
  2. Unit Tree Disparity

Something similar happens in the Battania tree. The tier 5 'Mounted Skirmisher' unit has lower throwing skill than it's T4 predecessor. It also has somewhat worse gear than the T4 Veteran Skirmisher (horse and hooked javelins excluded). When compared to other tier 5 cavalry, the Battanian Mounted Skirmisher is simply outmatched (they don't even have polearms!).

I think this unit should probably be T4 rather than T5. It would be great to see them changed to T4 so they can be used as a light javelin cavalry unit. Currently I think that upgrading their equipment and skills to match their T5 status would probably make the Battania tree a bit too powerful, as they already have a heavy cavalry option.

Most of my 2000+ hours of Warband play has been dedicated to playing the Picts in Viking Conquest. The Picts (Alban) faction in Viking Conquest was clearly a template for Battania in Bannerlord - 'Pictish Elite Skirmishers' are Viking Conquest's equivalent to the 'Battanian Fian Champion' (both claim the no.1 ranged unit top spot), and the skirmisher javelin shenanigans that I spent so much time mastering in Pictland work perfectly well when playing as Battania. The only thing that's not made it to Battania however, is the fine art of Pictish Javelin Cavalry management. The 'Pictish Horseman' in Viking Conquest resembles the 'Battanian Mounted Skirmisher' - barely any armour (sometimes none!), a solid horse, and most importantly, an arm like a ******* cannon. The 'high risk high reward' tactics of live fast die young javelin cavalry should be something any credible Battania player instantly identifies with, but with Battanian Mounted Skirmishers being T5, the barrier for entry to the insane world of semi-clad, spear chucking, mounted lunatics galloping head first into drive-by suicide missions is just too high.

I'm over the moon that Battania exists as a faction, and that its taken so much of its inspiration from the Picts in Viking Conquest. It's been executed spectacularly, (in particular in its Aesthetics and Historicism - your many historical nudges have neither gone unnoticed nor unappreciated!) and the faction's troop tree plays just as it should do. However, if the mounted skirmisher could be ever so slightly tweaked to T4 so players arn't quite so precious about sending them to their doom (or glory!), your outstanding work could be just that little bit better.
  3. Resolved Cant interact with anything, cities, villages, parties

Hello - I've just come across the same problem.

We (Batannia) just won a siege battle against a Southern Empire city. I participated in the battle and didn't go down. Since leaving the battle, I have not been able to interact with anything on the map. Looters, other parties (hostile, friendly and neutral), field battles, villages, castles, and towns are all inaccessible.

It would be nice to continue playing my current campaign, but this is a game breaker. I'm more than happy to provide more information and my save files to help.
  4. Has anyone found the Ulfberht sword?

I found it. If you capture a norse lord, you can take equipment from them, the sword being one of the possible items. I've just about finished getting the vikings out of the North of England, I captured a few in a huge battle when I was after a wolf lorica for myself, and after stealing the wolf lorica I noticed the sword is there too. I decided against taking it after seeing the huge relations drop the wolf lorica got me, but after a day or two of consideration and now Northymbre is on the edge of collapse I'm going to go hunt for it, might be a bit better than my nad.
