    63e NA Siege Server

    Unban user: iCod

So this evening i was playing on the 63e Server and this admin named Karth decided to start permabanning everyone who was discussing politics. (A lot of people)
I did not see in the game rules that discussion of politics was prohibited, so I don't see this admins banning of me and several hours as valid.
I'm asking for an unban because I did not break any server rules. I even stopped talking about politics once Karth warned me yet I still was permabanned (the same thing happened to others; they stopped yet were still banned.)

    Okay thank you!
I crossed the line tonight and I can assure you my behavior from here on out will change.

    Bot Survival NA

Just a quick question for the admin USMC Alpha
Will I still be allowed to come back onto the server tomorrow? If I understand correctly, the first ban I received was just a temporary ban, so does that mean I can still return to the server tomorrow because technically I am not perma banned??

    "Party Size" Morale Penalty

Speaking of Bandits, is there a way to make them appear more often? The early game is pretty boring since you can't find any bandit parties, therefore you can't level up and increase the number of men in your party. Since Spain/Scandinavia is empty, how about just setting it so s*** tons of bandits spawn and stay there for the time being?
  5. iCod43

    when spain would be added?

Spain would be cool, but wouldn't you want to be a Swedish mercenariy, beating the russians into submission?

    Rise of Nations?

For a second i thought you were talking about the glorious old-school RTS game "Rise of Nations."

But anway, while messing around in TweakMB, i found that the "player created faction" was a pinkish-red color. I havn't tried taking over a city, but will and see what happens.
Maybe because you are apart of the British Army, it automatically gives the title to Britian, as it would do in Native? Try leaving your chosen faction and see if that changes anything...

    More then two arty pieces?

    Thats odd....
I remember watching one of Diplex's L'aigle videos, and an enemy officer had only arty, and like 6 pieces of it...

Unit Upkeep- Why set at 0?

    Yes, it's normal.
All troops are paid by the state, of course!

    Richard Sharpe

    Fraziel 说:
He's in the game indeed, you just gotta be persistent, and lucky.. I found him but later I got captured and thrown into the jail. Sharpe left me afterwards
A proper officer doesn't get imprisoned, sir!

    Richard Sharpe

    SolidXerm 说:
I guarantee he is in the game. Many people already spotted him and others from the Books. Companions are just extremely hard to find due to the size of the map and the number of cities with taverns. They could spawn anywhere!

Indeed. But once you find Sharpe, oh, the feeling you get...

Video demonstrating the power of Calvary

So yeah, I was playing, and i met an Italian lord who had an 155 man party. Now, I had 166 troops, so I was expecting a huge, but fair fight. I was wrong on the fair part.

It was foggy, very foggy, so I couldn't see 4 damn feet in front of me. I ordered my infantry into a line, and my cav behind them, as i always do. I look on the mini map, and see the enemy advancing in a line formation. I thought they didn't have cav, and I got so excited. Then it happened...

Out of the distance in the fog, me and my men saw the silhouettes of 155 cavalry charging head first at us. By time i saw them, I didn't have enough time to tell my troops to form a square. Needless to say, they were all killed, all 166 men, dead, in guess what, a matter of 2 minuets. Poor bastard didn't stand a chance.

I tried the battle again by quitting without saving and reloading. This time, the skies were clear, and i could see the Italian prick's 155 cav. I ordered my men, all inf, into a square (or 5 line for some reason,) and told them to brace polearms, and to use melee weapons. But, thanks to the bugged melee system, they all still died, killing only about 3 Italians, while i lost all 166 of my men.

Is there some hotfix that either, fixes this damn melee system, or severley nerfs the power of cav? Yes, I know, Cav was basically the tank of the pre-modern battlefield; but when 160+ Line infantry in a square formation STILL can't fend off a cav charge, something is wrong.

    Line constantly skirmishing

Tell them to Stand Ground (F1-F4)

Name your party while keeping your name

Holy crap i never knew you could do that!
Now I can name my party the, "The Red Army." While keeping my name of Vladimir Lenin! Sweet, dude!

    How to recruit standard bearer?

In order to recruit a flagger, you need to have 30 of the same type of line infantry. Then go to the military depot, enter depot, and recruit them there.

Also, Grenadier a Pied de la Garde Imperiale is FootGuard.

    Please Make Peace Treaties Shorter!

Ayup. Denmark and the whole Scandinavian region is just crawling with bandits.
  16. iCod43

What is the way of the bandit?

You can declare war on any faction without enlisting. Just find a band of villagers/lord of any faction, attack them, then you'll be at war with them.

As for uniforms, Docm30 is planning on adding various rebel factions in a new future update. But for now, merc's are your only choice if you don't want the shiny uniforms.

If you're looking for enemies, head up to the north of Europe (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland) Basically the empty parts of the map. They are crawling with bandit parties just waiting for a fight.

Just wanted to give props on performance

Agreed. I get higher frames on this than Warband, NW, WF&S, hell, anything. And considering the map size? Freaking brilliant.

How has your L'aigle adventures been going?

So, i started in Russia with a character named Vladimir Lenin (which is actually pretty easy to create in the character creator for this game.) It started out horrible, though. I went to a nearby village to recruit some troops, since nobody in St. Petersburg wanted to be enlisted. I only got 4 guys from that village. Then i was attacked by one of the many deserter bands in Russia. Needless to say, even though they had only 5 line, they were a **** ton better than my plebeian trash, and I was forced to retreat, leaving 1 of my mine behind, and 2 dead.

Me, and the last survivor went to another village, and got 5 men this time. I did the starting quest, made some gold, and got about 4 line. I thought i was set, and went to go loot a village. I knew i was going to be attacked, but i was pretty confident with my men. When I realized 60 angry villagers were charging at me and my 10 trashy recruits, I got scared. They all ended up dying, of course only after missing 2 volleys, and another volley, when the villagers were literally right next to them (fix the damn musket accuracy. Yeah, they're muskets, but they're not ****ing arquebuses, cmon) So i got wrecked again.

Then, just my luck, a patrol came and attacked me right after i got my ass handed to me by a bunch of women in skirts, armed with clubs. I wanted to go out honorably, as Lenin would have, but i died when a Prussian horsemen softly bumped into me while he hacked away at my last man. I was taken prisoner, had 0 gold left, and decided to give up my dreams of conquering Russia and forming the Soviet Union.

Eh, I'll just try again on a new save....

I'm having a rough start, any tips?

The best way in mount and blade to make money, no matter what module you're playing, is to loot & burn cities, and sell the loot in towns/villages. Whenever you loot a village, you get many valuables, such as raw silk, salt, wool, wine, pottery, etc, which is worth a lot of gold. You also got tons of food. I'm talking about 9-14 slots of delicious cheese, bread, meat, whatever you name! You can sell all of it at towns, and make a pretty huge profit from only a few villages. On the bad side, however, you will be at war with the faction, and while looting, you cannot move, so an enemy lord or patrol may attack you, and ruin your day. But hey, who said quick cash was easy cash?

Before the L'aigle patch of 1.1, this gave you a **** ton of money, but Docm30 has patched this in that patch. Still though, you make quite a lot of coin (about 1,500-3000 gold a village,)

Since you joined France (And may as well do it again) You should start off being at war with Britain and Russia, two good nations to loot villages in. Start off by recruiting half line infantry and half heavy cav/line cav. Recruit all you can, use all the money, since you don't lose money at the end of the week. You should have around 20 troops.
Now you have the choose. If you want to loot some British villages (I don't recommended this with only 20 men, i'll explain later) head up into Ireland, since their cities are very spread out. Loot one or two (depending on Inventory Management skill) and rush back home. I don't recommend this at first because if you get caught, you're pretty much screwed. It's very difficult to get out of the British Isles once you're in...

If you go into Russia, which is also nice, their cities are also very spread out. Loot one of the border ones next to Prussia (a quick getaway and towns are right there.) and sell the loot. Russia is also a much better option since you can safely move in and out of Russian territory very quickly, so it's a good idea to loot one village at a town, going in and out through Prussia and Russia, selling loot and looting villages.

Be careful though. With only around 20 guys, the villagers will come out and fight you. Now, if you only have infantry, you might as well just not even bother, since they will be destroyed by those peasants (strange huh?) This is due to the bugged melee system, which makes infantry pretty much useless when it comes to close-quarters combat. However, if you have cav, you will be saved. When the villagers start charging, move with your cav, and go around to their flank (behind them or to the side of them) Once the villagers engage, set the cav to charge, and just watch as the cav completely wreck those plebs, just as they should.

Anyway, after your first loot, you should have enough coin to recruit a lot more troops, which will in-turn make it much easier to loot villagers, which will make it easier to make more money, which will make your life a whole lot easier and your experience a whole lot more fun! After looting maybe a dozen villages, if even that, you will be set, with around 50 or so ranked up troops. You're now ready to take on the world! Fight a few enemy lords along with the other officers of your chosen faction, or hey, loot some more villages. Why not? The world is your oyster!

    Winter

    To actually answer your question:

The winter months would be the same as in real life, (December, January, February.) Then it will start to snow in Europe.
