This is my first post on the Tale world's forum. However I've been a fan and active player of M@B for quite some time and have been active on NW since it came out . Too start off , i'd advise you make the process for ban appeals more customer friendly ie don't put child boards above ban appeal , I see no other reason for "child boards" than to insult a forum member. Also i'm 18. I say this because from my experience with admins I'm expecting to be called a 10 year old. So in fact I am 18.
Now on to the reason for writing this. I was perma banned on US1 pub battle server just yesterday. You may wonder , why? Why was an active and morale boosting OooooAhhhhh'ing Austrian fellow banned from his favorite server for the rest of his life? Well let me explain exactly what happened last night while I try to hold back my anger over this situation by being humorous. I began my 1st match of the night , I believe it was Prussia vs. Austria on the Russian , snowy town map lol. Anyways some young fellow jumped up to the roof along with a few followers and began firing on the enemy from their new position. After someone on the opposite team complained about the guys on the roof the admin ( i forget which one , there were multiple on at the time) Told them to get off. And so in the rush of the fight one poor soul didn't see the message or ignored it and promptly got slayed .
Now that was incident 1. An admin interfered with the gameplay... The slaying of people talking back to the admin or disobeying his almighty orders continued for a few more matches. This stirred some rebelious thoughts in the server , "why does the admin have any say in the gameplay?" "shouldn't the admins be on our side?" "Admins should only use their powers for serious matters like TKing or direct threats or racism and of course for the obvious trolls or greavers. So with the general consensus being " the admin should stop slaying people for talking back and glitching" (lights cigarette) people began to get agitated , including myself.
Before i go any further i'd like to explain how I play this game . I started as a noob , i gained skill , eventually i was at the top of the scoreboard around 60% of the rounds i played , and then i started to get bored and started to screw around more , playing as the drummer or color gaurd and generally having alot fun boosting morale and cracking up when our marching band is slaughtered . I play battle because it's realistic. I am quite talkative and friendly too all the pub players i meet.I have multiple aliases that let me roleplay a bit for some added fun. The day before yesterday I was General's BodyGuard , and I gaurded whoever was the general for as long as I possibly could. I made a couple new friends with that bit. I also help noobs who have questions and consider myself a team leader. I usually inspire my team and lead them to victory. Conversely some people would rather not follow a leader no matter how good. I understand that and don't get upset at the negative comments like "shut up" or the "no" to my suggestions . I sometimes just want to play the game and ignore chat as well.
Now...
Around my 5th match it was Britannia vs. France. Meleanos ( or Meneleaos) the server admin of US1 who I witnessed slay all those rebellious players had just temp banned a player for insulting him. M was also in the company of another admin , i think it may have been Pip. But Pip is cool I have no problem with Pip the admin. This is about Meneleaos's actions. So after the slaying of those rebellious players and the temp bans being handed out like candy the morale dropped and their was much anger among the pub population. So some ppl spoke out of anger and got temp banned and others spoke out of wisdom and were told that the admin has the last say over everything. Now ..(finishes cigarette) the banter between the pub white chat and the admins pink chat was got to an intolerable point for me.I believe the majority of the 100 players on at the time were on my side as i started to talk to Meleanos about how the consistent slaying and bans and witty retorts using admin chat was unprofessional. Some SLt told me admins had the last say in all matters which made me think of a dictatorship. Then Meleanos said another witty retort in pink chat and that was it . I called him a **** . Now I'm sure you've had your own fair share of experience in this game , you understand it can get frustrating and you know that the majority of the population says **** , **** , ******* , **** , among other naughty words in general frustration or too the player or team that killed them. So I did not expect the ban message to appear on my screen. I realize now I was somewhat out of line. My first thought was "damnit what a ******** child" using his powers to rule over the server , so goddamn unprofessional.
After an hour of waiting i realized it was a perma ban . The one time in over a year of playing Mount and blade that I had enough with the admins and I get perma banned . Great !
So let me recap , the unprofessional use of admin bans and slays as well as the unnecessary and childish use of admin chat lead me to my breaking point where I called Meleanoas or however it's spelled....a **** . And subsequently I was perma banned.
This is not the first time i've been upset about the abuse of admins and i'm sure it's not the last. However I don't want anyone to think that I think all admins are children. There are plenty of respectable admins like Pip or Getty as far as I know. I would also advise any higher up on the forums who read this to do something about it maybe enforce rules to admins , like not using admin chat for banter. Or not slaying players for ridiculous reasons like personal satisfaction. The unprofessional admins are ruining the gaming experience for many players . I'm surprised it's reached this point for me , I love the game and love the ppl who play but I'm done with pub servers for a while . I shouldn't be this upset about this game.
I refuse to request an unban for a couple reasons .
1. I'm too pissed off about this right now ... and
2. before i request an unban or apologize for calling Meleanos a naughty word I would like some recognition from either a respectable forum moderator or an admin , or even Melenoma himself.
Also the fact that an admin that has no respect for gamers and is given powers to remove experienced and senior gamers from said game is disgusting and really needs looking into . We do NEED admins to prevent Mass TK's but that's about it.
