Battanians are in the awkward spot of specializing in Archery, yet not having a peasant archer branch in their Troop Tree
Is this fixed already? If not when can we expect such a change?
This game has a long history of delays and missed deadlines. Nevertheless I want to believe that next time they will meet it, they will succeed. It is kinda ridiculous though. If you don't think you can meet a deadline, you should at least tell us, and why if possible.
As you may know bannerlord is currently hardcoded to 2048 agents on a map (1024 with cavalry since horses are separate from soldiers). Assuming the reasonably best machines are used what do you think the limit will be at the end of the life cycle? 3000? 5000? Maybe even 10000.
For reference I...
I readily admit that bug-free code that implement a feature in a balanced and consistent way is hard. But scenes should be worked on regardless, writing can be done in advance and inserted. I refuse to believe that TW had to shift all priorities to feature implementation and polishing to the...
It certainly is possible to achieve it. Bannerlord as an engine seems promising enough. I think the bottleneck is AI and animations but with enough time and effort Taleworlds can overcome both hurdles. If not in this game I expect brand new combat mechanics in M&B III if it is ever made.
At least it is clear now. On another topic (no pun intended), just like the devs I think the Sturgians have the potential to have the most unique aesthetics of all the factions. One thing that saddens me it that Sturgia will probably lack Horse Archers. I know for a fact that later slavic states had them in the form of Druzhina but the period of Kievan Rus the faction is based off is the one when they were mainly infantry and got slaughtered by horse archers from the east.
I think they should have mercenary horse archers recruitable in camps or cities.
Thoughts?
Tl;dr: I think Sturgia should get horse archers in some way, shape or form since the devs clearly stated themselves they are supposed to feel cultural influences from their neighbors so why not military influrnces too. Faction locked mercenaries(meaning only party leaders member of that faction-player included-) could be the preferred medium.
All things considered, "non-orthodox" modes like tavern brawl, board games & gambling, duel like in the picture Yaga posted could be quite interestiing and most of all, original. "Tournaments servers" come to my mind:
-Melee: like in warband with custom weapons options like random, random with restrictions(without mace or axes for example), selectable, faction-themed and/or class-locked like in Captain Mode,etc...
-Battle Royale: like the aforementioned Melee but instead battle ends with one (wo)man standing
-Jousting
-Mounted duel
Target shooting:with different ranges available. For fair play, all characters should have the same proficiency, bow and arrow unless on a roleplay server with dynamic characters
Whoa whoa whoa... thrusts aren't affected by weight distribution???! The whole point of weight distribution is to favor either cuts or thrusts, with cut centric weapons having the point of balance far from the handle, ie axes and sabres, and stabby weapons having the point of balance close to the handle like rapiers.
This person has a point. If thrusting is not affected by weight distribution (not saying that is the case, just that we don't know at the moment ) there is no incentive for the player to craft thrusting swords aside from personal taste.
People who don't min max will always favor either cut and thrust or pure cutting swords when crafting one.
