I myself learned American history (a more complete history involving North America, including the pre-Columbus era, though sorely lacking in South American history outside of the Incas and the Spanish/Portuguese expansion) and found it to be rather bland, for the most part.  I've studied Russian history quite a bit (though by no means am I an expert) especially from the 1200s to the present day and find their history to be much more fascinating than our own.  I think a part of the disinterest by American students with regards to history is the fact that you only have 300-400 years to glance at, rather than a couple centuries.  The shorter timespan means that many of the events that are studied in class are by necessity less important and more boring than those gleaned from a longer timespan.

Beauty is the eye of the beholder.  Belittling a country by labeling it with a period of existence that is European in thought- since there is PLENTY of history before Europeans every came to America - is ignorant.  If I was to use your train of thought, then China's history must be one of the most interesting simply due to the long length of written history.

Oh and I think it is interesting that the starter of this thread thinks they can "teach history" to a whole nation of people many of which are qualified to be history professors in Britian.

I'm not refering to the sca.

I'm a member of a group that allows, grapling, shield checking and bashing the enemy's body.  Our swords are not clubs as per sca ratan weapons but realisticly weighted weapons in the shape of a sword.  We still can leave nice bruises using the wrap.

Although there are COUNTERS to the wrap- there are counters to everything.  If the enemy is faked out by say a feint on the left then the wrap can be used to follow up.

Janus, it could be any of those except it happened while I was working.  I did some things, compiled and it ran fine.  Ran the game to test- changed some more code compiled and got this error.

Yesterday I wasn't able to do anything with this, today I'll try a few things and see what happens.

I am DEFINATELy clickin on  build_module.bat nothing else- it still builds but I have to keep clickin on this message and now it seems to happen to everything I do with the module tools even when I grab new copies.

Why has noone mentioned the Arena mod?

WHICH IS SO VERY SILLY THEY ARE MANY WAYS TO  DELIVER A FULL POWERED BLOW WITH A SWORD!!!

Example: Swing your hand around your head like you are a cowboy throwing a laso- for those of you that don't know what a cowboy is just swing your hand abouve your head in a circular motion.  NOW imagine that someone is in front of you- then lower the height of your swing- WHAT HAPPENS?! You smack yourself in the face! WHY?! Because your hand couldn't stop when it hit your imaginary target.

What does this MEAN? You hit the bad guy right in front of you with full force on his BACK because you swung the sword _around_ his side and brought it back!

Combine this with side stepping or stepping past your enemy and you have what we sword fighting fans like to call a "wrap shot" because you wrap around the enemy and hit them.

Please GOD give us a wrap shot- I think I'll start a thread about this.
