    The solution to this is rather simple, and mind-boggling.  Acquire an old version key from a google search.  It's insane that paying customers have to resort to what I'd assume the company regards as piracy simply to play the most popular mods. 

    Thanks for the needless, short-sighted, and faulty DRM scheme.  I will not be buying Bannerlord or any of your other products.

    You know what would be awesome with a patch?  Make new Steam serials work with things like WSE.  The whole reason I bought the game was for mods, and I can't play half of them because of this.  Stop advertising free trials and how great the modding community is if activation is broken.

    Seriously, devs?  You advertise on PC Gamer about the free trial and the amazing mod community to entice people to buy the game, then fail to mention the greatest and most extensive mods that exist will not function with Steam. 

    I only bought the thing after reading an article and talking to a friend about how cool the mods were and how the base game was way more interesting with them.  I feel cheated.
