    Looks like I came back to the game after a three month hiatus into a nice big cluster*censored*.

    According to a staff post, the version being wrong on the website is unrelated to whatever server issues screwed up the forum lately. Ah well, it'll get sorted out soon enough [snip: *****ing removed, I need to sleep]

    Man, I bought Warband directly from Taleworlds, just so they wouldn't have to lose a cut to another distributor... I got gypped.  :sad:

    Edit: For the record, I tried "activate product" in steam, but they say that the key that Taleworlds emailed me is invalid.

    So basically, it seems to be a function of party size as well. If you have enough people to spread the load over already, the packhorses won't really have any effect, but if you're doing lots of trading with a smaller party, they can help out noticeably. Good info.

    1. Restarting the game seems to be the only fix. Reporting it as a bug seems to just get shut down as an "old issue". :roll:

    2. I seem to recall a mod that allowed this (Diplomacy?), but I could be confused.

    They changed it? Well that's a load of garbage. Wonder if there's a way to change the menu scripts to add it back in...

    Any chance of adding in some of the tactical scripts other than formations? I've wanted a "brace spears" option for my shieldwall, and I know there's a script out there, but I lack the technical savvy to mod it in myself.  :???:

    Aww, got my hopes up. For a minute, I thought that Native Expansion had finally been ported to Warband. Ah well...

    Looks like a decent start for a small tweak mod, though.

    3. The amount of weight in your inventory. This is mostly a factor if you’re trading
    bulky goods. If you’re trading or just carrying a lot of ‘stuff’ and would rather not
    bog yourself down, consider purchasing some cheap horses to serve as baggage
    animals: they only have to be in your inventory to help your speed.
    This seems to be broken for me. I've bought horses and left them in inventory, and it's actually slowed me down.

    Here, I just did this as a test:
    Pathfinding 10 (no personal skill)
    Party size: 49 (mixed infantry and cavalry)
    About a page worth of food and random junk in the inventory.
    Speed without pack horses: 6.9
    Purchase 10 random horses: 6.8

    Looks like the horses' weight is just adding to my encumbrance.

    Edit: Just did a bit more testing. With any number of extra horses, my speed drops to 6.8 (or less) except when I have exactly four, in which case it's my original 6.9.

    Not really. The point is that if something goes wrong in-game, you have to live with the consequences. You shouldn't have to live with the consequences of Taleworlds' inability to fix a long-standing bug...

    Where does M&B go now?

    So, for someone who only bought Warband, not realizing that all the good mods were still for vanilla... what would it be like "down"grading from Warband (+Diplomacy, which is sort of a mini-NE, I guess), to Vanilla+Native Expansion? Graphics, animation, AI, etc? How much would I gain/lose?

    changing banner?

    Okay, this isn't old enough to be true thread necromancy, right?

    I'm looking in the cheat menus (which have tons of interesting stuff), but I can't for the life of me find where to change my banner. Camp cheat menu, town cheat menu, even the character cheat menu (increase RtR, persuasion, etc), which I found while writing this post. I'm sure I'm missing something blindingly obvious...

    Edit: A bit more searching states that it's in the camp menu, but it's not there on mine. Would the Diplomacy mod (the only one I run) affect this? My current cheat menu in camp:

    Find an item...
    Change weather..
    Increase player renown
    Increase Player honor
    Update political noets
    Update troop notes
    Scramble minstrels
    Infinite camp
    Cheat: Set Debug messages to All
    Cheat: set debug messages to Econ Only
    Cheat: set debug messages to Political Only
    Back to camp menu

    Edit 2: Argle! Bloody hellfire, damnation and misinformation! Okay, it's Camp > Take an action, not Camp > Cheat menu. Nevermind. -_-

    Prisoner Rescue Mission at Maras Castle, prisoner spawns as a hostile

    STILL happening in 1.127. For the record, my relation with the lord I'm trying to rescue is neutral (0), so it's not some weird hostility bug.

    If it helps, I'm on the quest from a lord (Boyar Vuldrat) to rescue his brother (Boyar Naldera) from Wercheg. I had the peasants in Odasan set a fire outside the village at midnight to draw off the guards (which seems to have worked). Regardless of whether I ask him to help or stay behind, he's flagged as hostile and the scene will not end until he's knocked out. Wondering if it had to do with a bug in drawing off the guards, I waited until the next day and tried again with all the guards present in broad daylight. Nope, he'd rather kill me than fight his captors.

    EDIT: NOTE, restarting the game and trying again may clear the issue. It seems to be intermittent.
