    B Native Other Polished Landscapes [RELEASED][news pg. 19]

    Installed this amazing mod on my 1.127 version and WOW...I was totally stunned at how gorgeous this looks  :shock:
    Armagan and Co should ask if they could incorporate this into their native via a future patch...makes warband look soooo much better.

    Only problems I`ve had so far is trees growing in the tavern at Tulga but i can live with that  :mrgreen:

    I`ve been wondering if there is a memory leak also, since the latest patch 1.127 I find that after a short while of playing, the world map gets frequent stutters. Really
    annoying.
    I`ve sold my old Nvidia 8800 GTS and got a nice shiny ATI HD 4890 today, so will put it in shortly and see if things improve...seems that quite a few people with
    stutters/low fps have Nvidia cards. Lets hope the next patch regains the smoothness of the 1.113 patch.

    Just tried it with my new vid card and it runs fantastic with all settings maxed out. Seems in my case, it was my Nvidia card that was the problem. Glad I bought an ATI this time  :grin:

    Pause caused by Blood Stains (?)

      I`ve tried everything i can think off and no joy. I always have blood off now and it still lags and stutters. it`s kinda like a memory leak how it gets worse after a certain
      length of time.
    Sometimes combat turns into a slideshow which leaves me with a sick feeling  :shock:

    I have to quit and restart every 20-30 mins to be able to play the game. Not very much fun.

    Hope next patch sorts this.

    I know, I was posting in reply to Rads post. My bad for not mentioning that  :smile:
    I thought it was too slow myself and originally posted about it, although i do also like to play with faster speed on native as it makes combat more frenetic.

    Agreed.

    Ideally a hybrid of the old mounted animations and new foot animations would be pretty cool.  The other thing in WB that sh*ts me is the new markers above your units...  it totally obscures your view if one of your minions stands in front of you...  I've taken to knocking them out just so I can see!

    Yeah  the hybrid would be pretty good.

    The markers..Argh. I don`t know how many times I`ve trotted forward, bow raised to launch a volley at the enemy and what happens...one of my horsemen walks his horse right in front of me, the marker obscures my aim and bang! My Khergit has a new hat... :evil:
    Dump those stupid bloody markers!

    I think you would find that if Idibil only listened to one person for feedback then that mod wouldn`t be for the rest of the public. Some of those recruits have been playing Mount and Blade since it was first released, they just didn`t bother with posting on forums  :grin:

    I`ve got a few replica swords, some single handed, some 2 handed. The heaviest one is probably the replica of the William Wallace sword from Braveheart. It weighs a fair bit but I can still whip it about a good speed. I guess as well you have to take into consideration the strength, stamina and experience of each individual wielding the swords. There is an excellent book on the Crusades called  "Iron Men and Saints" and it compared the modern man with these past warriors and made the point that our ancestors were often a lot stronger and tougher by far than modern day men. They had to be. Anyways my point is merely that warriors in the 6th century or whenever, would no doubt have had to have been fairly strong and often agile to survive repeated battles. Single handed swords would have been wielded at good speeds. I`m sure the swordsmen would also have developed greatly strengthened wrists. Also another major consideration could be Adrenaline flow and Battle rage i would think.
    The prospect of bloody death would make anyone fight like a demon :twisted:

    imho I don`t think you need to weapons set to slow swing to make it more realistic feeling. The most excellent Brutality mod (still my favourite mod) achieved a feeling of total brutal combat without setting weapons speed to slow.

    As others have mentioned here, it`s the new horseback animations that are total sh*t. Yeah the old animations might have looked pretty basic but at least you knew you
    were going to wallop someone when you aimed. I can`t fight for the life of me on horse in warband! Just when I think i`ve got a strike lined up, my mouse moves slightly
    and he changes his stance resulting in a total miss. Arghh!! Thats even with a 2 handed sabre!.

    Foot combat seems a lot easier than horseback with the new animation system. This mod is great as I can at least get back to a pale imitation of my original M&B prowess.

    Nothing worse than a Khergit Khan who whiffs his way through battles, then skulks away from his men with a red face... :mrgreen:

    Well I downloaded the newest Nvidia drivers and spent an hour of trying various options on and off, through the driver control panel and M&B menu options.

    The only thing I haven`t tried is playing in Direct x7 which I refuse to do as it looks so crap. I could be wrong here, but is it only Nvidia owners that are having these
    problems? Totally stumped now. Guess will just have to hope that a later patch sorts out these stuttering problems.

    I have a very similar problem. My Warband lags on the world map after about 20 mins play and when I turn the camera it jerks.

    I have a Nvidia 8800GTS
    4 Gb Ram
    Creative Fatal1ty Xi-Fi
    64bit Windows 7

    Tried increasing buffers, deleting the apps folders, textures on demand to off
    I have only a single monitor so your fix don`t work for me :wink:

    Combat is okay and dosen`t lag. only the world map after a while. It`s almost like it develops a memory leak or something.
    This has happened pretty much every patch up to 1127. Have to keep restarting the game every 30 mins  :shock:

    No it spreads across all factions :???:

    I can confirm this as there is only 1 village at the moment i can recruit from and thats because I trained their peasants.
    Your plundering and looting shouldn`t lose you rep across all factions, only the one whose villages you pillaged. Also noticed that although I have repaired some rep with one of my Saxon villages, the others are still falling over a few days. Gone from -3 to -4 in about a week.  Definitely seems bugged.

    More seriously, when you loot and steal, (and when you start to become famous...) villages you burn hate you very quickly (as usual), BUT (and I think this is new) every villages,, even those who are hundred of miles away, start to hate you...

    I agree, this makes perfect sense, but in a world of etrendless war, this make the game very complicated for the bad guys (who, if I remember well my history about dark ages, were every common warrior), and this rule doesn't apply to other lords, giving you a serious disadvantage

    So, if everyone is fine with that rule, it's fine for me, I won't complain anymore :lol:, but if you want to change it, I'll be very happy to bring britain in an age of chaos and flames!! :twisted:

    EDIT : I'm not very sure about the "rebelling" thing, cause I didn't do a test for more than forty days. But I didn't have any rebelling village in my "good guy test", and in my"very bad guy" a village rebels as soon as I join a kingdom!

    Ahh..that explains why I couldn`t recruit after a while at any village because I had looted quite a few previously  :evil:
    I did manage to recruit again at my saxon village by training the peasants and gaining some good rep with the village. Makes sense i guess  :grin:

    Little bug fixing needs done for some of the companion dialogue. Namely companions who were female and are now males.
    I just won a battle and one of my other companions was singing praises about Siwi and how great she was. Siwi has had a sex change complete with big moustache :shock:

    Weird - i can`t seem to recruit any more men. I only have 15 with me at the moment out of a party size of 45. Tried walking around lots of different faction villages and no recruit option anymore. Bug?

    The frankish raiders/Dena pirates/bandits definitely need toned down a bit in numbers. Total nightmare for anyone being a southern saxon. Too many spawning in that area and the fact they can easily overtake you is not fun :evil:

    I understand, yes the added diplomacy does add nice extra features. I`ve got plenty of patience as well :wink:
    I only found it spoiling the mod (for myself anyway) because travelling anywhere was frustrating as it was just too many freezing spikes. I guess it would be too much
    hard work, but an option too switch off the diplomacy messages would  be great.

    Yeah thats exactly what happens when I play. It seems that just before these diplomacy trade messages pop up, it really freezes up for a while and grinds everything to slow motion for a while. When i play, I `m really not interested in all these messages about such and such has a trade agreement and made peace etc. Not if it turns everything into a lag fest  :sad:

    In battle most of enemy cavalry rides to upper right corner and unmounts..

    This is new. I think that Motomataru will have it fix in next improved AI.

    only happens the first time, when you create the character, by the amount of data it manages. Load savegame is fast.

    We had quit dispensable information, but the panels that are currently we think are interesting to learn how world politics is.
    Other option is quit all them.

    You guys have done great work so far.

    I know it`s still beta but can i just ask you, when you are running this mod do you have the constant dreadful pauses/freezing for a few seconds at a time when you are walking around on the world map? I `m juust wondering if theres something weird in my setup. I do keep hearing the sound of money being collected as well , when travelling. Is that supposed to happen?    My machine is pretty good for  warband but the lag on the world map is really bad. Had this happen in another mod that was using the diplomacy scripts etc, - 1257 AD.

    I think only the  spears and bows are just a little low on the damage side, but i don`t mind that as I like to use the 2 handed axe anyways :wink:
    It`s a good idea as you know that you can`t just charge in and wipe lots of enemies out  :shock:

    Apart from the  terrible lag on map  screen, I`m loving your mod. Good job :cool:

    I have the same problem as well with 1.126 patch. Lags terribly after maybe half an hours play onwards and it`s mostly on the world map that it`s really bad. Everything jerks along after a while and gets really quite slow. I`ve mucked about with all the settings and I have corpses/rag dolls completely off. I`m wondering if this is due to all the heavy scripting or if it is a memory leak?  Really don`t want to have to change to DX7 as it will look like playing M&B early versions  :mrgreen:

    My system is fairly good -

    Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit
    Nvidia 280 Video Card
    4 Gb Ram
    Creative Xifi Fatality Sound Card
    Dfi Lanparty Mobo

    P.S. - I can get games like Arma 2 running pretty smooth on high graphic settings (and thats a nightmare to run on high)
