    Well, it was a kingdom. As far as I know, Bohemia is Czech in Czech. The only kingdom withing the Holy Roman Empire.

    For what I know, Sargeant were wearing black or brown clothes and knight white ones. Wikipedia seems to agree with me on that:
    The knights wore a white surcoat with a red cross and a white mantle; the sergeants wore a black tunic with a red cross on front and back and a black or brown mantle.[46][47]  The white mantle was assigned to the Templars at the Council of Troyes in 1129, and the cross was most probably added to their robes at the launch of the Second Crusade in 1147, when Pope Eugenius III, King Louis VII of France, and many other notables attended a meeting of the French Templars at their headquarters near Paris.[48][49][50]  According to their Rule, the knights were to wear the white mantle at all times, even being forbidden to eat or drink unless they were wearing it.[51]

    It's hard to make something "French looking" ecxept for putting the unit's name in french. In this time there were more mercenaries than regular troops in french armies (and in most western armies too).

    I put some templar troop too, even if they are not french specific troops, they were very comon at this time in France (King Louis returns from the 7th crusade in 1254)

    As for the Lords names:
    - how much do you want some?
    - How will act Ladies (Countess of Toulouse for example), bishops and abbots in your Mod? Will they lead armies too? There were some exemple of such people fighting or leading armies(Joan of Arc for exemple) but it was very unusual.

    As I could see that France was still a WIP, here is my humble contribution to this great mod, not sure if it can help though:

    First, a map of france circa 1257 (it's actually in 1223 during the reign Philip II Augustus but there were not many changes since then)

  6. Selection Beta Warband Campaigns !!

    Eh bien, ça a l'air d'avancer tout ça...
    Gofanon, est-ce que toi ou Bouba avez prévu une petite présentation du fonctionnement de la campagne? Genre 2-3 screen avec les explications qui vont avec, parce que je dois avouer que ça reste assez flou pour moi (comme pour d'autres j'en suis sur).
    En tout cas, bon boulot et bon courage pour la suite.

    Petite info pour ceux qui comme moi viennent de passer à Windows 7 et qui ont le son qui grésille sur mumble:

    J'ai galéré un petit moment avant de résoudre ce problème alors je me permet de poster une solution ici au cas ou.
    Il suffit d'exécuter mumble en compatibilité Vista (de base, pas SP1 ou SP2) et vous aurez le son comme avant.

    J'en profite pour vous conseiller de passer à 7, ça fait vraiment du bien quand on sort de Vista.
    (Si on m'avais dit que je ferais un jour l'apologie d'un produit micro$oft!  :oops:)

  11. Les coups dans Warband

    Quand je joue un cavalier, j'aime pouvoir sauter un petit rocher, un buisson, une carcasse de chariote, un tronc d'arbre ou une barrière, et c'est ce que je fait pour attaquer un fantassin retranché ou pour fuir la lance d'un autre cavalier. Là c'est réaliste!
    En revanche quand je retrouve un joueur sur des remparts, sur un toit ou sautant en plaine par dessus deux ou trois fantassins, là j'apprécie nettement moins!
    Il faut en effet rendre les sauts plus réalistes, prendre en compte l'élan du cheval, sa vitesse et aussi intégrer le risque de blessures.
    A mon avis c'est prévu, il ne faut pas oublier que c'est une bêta!

    En effet sur une des map de siege (le château sur la colline) j'ai vu plusieurs fois des cavalier sauter par dessus les remparts, faire une bonne chute de 10-15m et aller charger l'infanterie assaillante  :shock:. Mais il semble que ça se soit calmé depuis le dernier patch.

    Par contre je trouve les haches à une main beaucoup trop puissantes, je me fait dégommer en un coup avec elles. Pour une arme à deux mains je comprend mais là ça fait un peu beaucoup. Du coup les Nords sont extrêmement puissants au corps à corps.

    Au final ça donne des batailles assez cocasses Nords vs Khergits ou les Nords one shot les cavaliers au contacte (quand ils sont suffisamment fous pour se rapprocher) et ou les khergits épuisent leurs flèches sur les boucliers Nords. J'ai participé à un Team dethmatch de ce genre hier et s'était vraiment nimp, ces deux factions ont un gameplay trop différent. Sans parler du respawn au milieu des ennemis!

    A mon avis, ils feraient mieux de verrouiller les factions sur certaines maps pour par exemple éviter de se retrouver à assiéger un chateau avec des Khergit: avec que des lanciers et des archers montés c'est quasi impossible sur certaines maps.

    Oui, en effet c'est plus facile, par contre niveau efficacité c'est pas top. C'est utile uniquement en 1vs1 sinon c'est du suicide. Bref, c'est plus un gadget qu'autre chose.

    Je suis généralement dispo de 19h à 22h (mais bon ça dépend pas mal de mon boulot). J'ai installé Mumble mais je n'arrive toujours pas à faire fonctionner mon micro (j'ai des problèmes avec ma carte son).

    Ça y est j'ai enfin reçu mon invitation pour participer à la beta! J'ai passé mon weekend dessus, et mes premières impressions sont plutôt bonne pour le moment (même si il y a deux trois trucs que je trouve agaçant) . J'aurais donc le plaisir et l'immense honneur d'occire quelques-uns d'entre vous sur les serveurs EU (si ce n'est déjà fait).

    Ça fait plusieurs années que je traine sur le forum de M&B (depuis la v0.6 et des brouettes). Mais si j'ai décidé de sortir de l'ombre c'est que je viens de découvrir dans ma boite SPAM mon mail d'acceptation à la Beta (qui datait du 24 sept! les boules à quelques heures près Gmail le supprimait!). J'aurais donc l'immense plaisir de vous retrouver (ou de vous étriper) sur les serveurs de Warband, pour ceux qui on la chance de pouvoir y aller, ou plus simplement sur le forum.

    Sur ce à bientôt, ya une bonne bière et le Livre VI de Kaamelott qui m'attendent.
