Are there any plans to give Sarleon some love ?
I love their troop style and faction looks but they feel so weak compared to others, especially when considering they usually are getting ganged up by everyone.
I mean their shield infantry is one of the worst, their halberdiers are good, but not the best (empire has better pikemen while still having far better ranged units and competent noble cavalry which is wierd to me)
Their archers aren't bad, but they're far from amazing as well, especially considering the fact that they have a longbow and can spawn with a shield instead of 2 quivers (all those things stacked up as well as lower pros compared to both D'Shar and Ravenstern top archers makes them a lot weaker than those.)
Their cavalry is ok.
I think the goal of Sarleon was to make an all around type of faction but when you look at them and compare to others there's specialized factions who have better troops than them, I don't mind ravenstern having better archers because it's their thing but far better infantry ? Same with the empire they have far better ranged and infantry, D'Shar also has far better infantry (as well as slightly better polearm infantry), better archers (better bow and not a long one, as well as more pros) and on top of that a competent non noble cavalry that can be recruited a lot more easily.
I think one of the several would greatly help them (multiple would be way too much, they don't need a strong buff imo, just bump every soldier up a bit or give them an area where they are better)
- 2 top tier infantry instead of one, keeping the halberdier and adding another heavy armored foot knight (fitting with the faction) OR adding it as a noble infantry.
- Removing the shield on bowmen, giving them a bit more pros (20-30) to even them a bit with the D'Shar bowmen.
- Bumping down the man at arms level, right now they are level 31, which means it's as hard to train halberdiers as training hero adventurers (talking passive training here) which makes no sense to me considering the power gap between the two units.
If those would make them too op, I'd say the noble foot knight would be my preferred one as it would add diversity to their army and give them a slight power up (since it's a noble it won't be accumulated as fast as simple recruits.
