  1. Character builds

At first I went with a heavy cavalry Swadian style character, then I started a new character that forgoes melee altogether and relies on 3 pistols and a fast horse...
  2. The Eagle & The Radiant Cross Chapter Two - Feedback & Suggestions

One thing that caught my attention was that the doppelsoldner was paid triple the wage of a landsknecht...
  3. Unofficial Troop Editor 1.9 for troops.txt file

Using this tool in .960 allowed me to change troops.txt and have the modifications show up directly. In 1.003, sadly this "feature" is gone. Changes still take effect after starting a new game as per the original post. Is there some way to force my existing save game to use the new modified settings I've made?

    edit: thanks for the answer
  4. Final Release Date

Methinks he really did mean Monday, as opposed to "tomorrow".
  5. Community outreach for 1.0 please!

My very sophisticated and luscious source revealed to me that 1.0 will include orcs, a magic casting system with color lighted fireballs, and healing potions. Also, empire management, settlement founding, castle building (complete with virtual lego pieces), dinosaur mounts and unlockable lightsabres. They're pretty much done with the coding I've heard, they're just waiting on the release date for no good reason other than to keep us in the dark. Boo on you, Paradox.
  6. Official Trailer for Mount & Blade?

Was the last bit of the trailer music from Lord of the Rings? Or did I just imagine that...
  7. Useless Equipment.

I agree with the OP to the extent that so much of the stuff is actually worse than the weapons and armor in your *starting* kit. There's little point in buying a sickle or similar junk, if your rusty sword works just as well or better.

Also, I don't get the argument that the junk is in the shops for the NPCs. Somebody explain, because I feel stupid now.
  8. Favourite Tactical Maneuvers

When I have more firepower: Position my infantry and archers on a hill, cavalry to the left. Charge with cavalry when enemy approach the line.

When I have less firepower: Position my army just behind a hill to block sight for enemy archers. Let them approach as to minimize their opportunities of shooting at my army. When the first enemy soldier is visible, charge with entire army to take the hill.

When my army is basically all men at arms / swadian knights: Follow me and position in a way that the opposing army is to my right, that way horse archers can't shoot at us. When there are no obstacles (trees, rocks) between our armies, charge.

If I'm a horse archer: Laissez faire for my infantry and archers, follow me for my cavalry and approach the opposing army to my left, so I can shoot at them. Order cavalry to charge when my infantry are about to make contact.
  9. Mount and Blade 3

Split screen unicorn couched lancing, one screen with the lance, the one screen with the unicorn-horn. On the Gameboy DS of course.
  10. Rhodok top tier infantry

I miss troops with two handed swords (two handed axe troops abound in M&B), and I figure Rhodok Sergeants are a good candidate for them. A bit like the Landsknecht zweihander users amidst their pikemen.
  11. Sea Raiders..overpowerd?

I find the 25 strong Swadian Deserter Man at Arms to be a bit more troubling than Sea Raiders. Although there are a lot more Sea Raider parties on the world map.
  12. 1.0

I just called armagan and he said it would be out tomorrow.
  13. Blood modifier capped?

I searched for "blood_modifier" and "blood modifier" without finding what I was searching for. I was trying to produce mushroom clouds of blood by setting the the "blood_modifier" to 8000000.0 in module.ini, but all I get is small puffy bits. This leads me to believe that it is somehow capped...
  14. Can you make the lords stronger?

Enemy lords seem weak because players know how to single them out. I've fought alongside King Ragnar of the Nords in a battle and I saw him kill 8 or 9 khergits with his dinky scimitar. I think he's strong enough.

What I would like, is for lords to stand out more - for one they should have their coat of arms prominently displayed.
  15. Great Lances in .952?

I prefer the pike for couched lancing, for its superior reach.
  16. Town improvements

I want the guild master in Praven to be in front on the porch of the building overlooking the main street instead of slacking off way at the back. Or give me a "talk to the guild master" option (the same way you can tab to the merchants).
  17. Help with point distribution please?

It seems a bit weird to me to invest so heavily in Strength for Powerstrike if you're doing the couched lance thing, since you're oneshotting just about everything anyway. But if you're not doing the couched lance thing, I guess it makes sense then - though why else would your polearms skill be that much higher than the rest?
  18. Calradian religion?

It seems to me that adding religion takes away from the focus of the game. Morrowind and Oblivion both have alchemy and fruitpicking. Does that warrant the same for M&B?

Unless religion has clearly defined pros and cons within the game system, I say spend your time and energy towards developing something else.
  19. One Thing About Bandit-Infested Towns

The simple solution is of course only to do your shopping in daylight. The bandits only attack you in towns when it's dark.
  20. Best Bugs

Couching a pike (range 514) on a horse can kill the enemies about a meter or so before impact.
