  1. Swadian Royal blade and Lady Larktins blade?

if you loot unique gear can you get the same one again? i fought graveth a while ago and got a rusty council blade and i'd like to get a better one.

played some more, machine gunners seem overpowered in the field and grenades/mortars make sieges impossible. maybe you could increase machine gunners' level so they're harder to get. the siege problem could be solved by putting the spawns outside grenade range.

great mod, the only problem i've had so far is the troop tree. the upgrades don't really make sense. the units are sometimes completely different from what they upgrade into in terms of function, which makes army building a pain. also there's a bug where top tier units can loop back to lower ones. i propose something like:

                infantry -> cavalry -> officer
              /            \
    recruit                rifleman -> sniper
              \
heavy weapons -> granadier -> elite grenadier
                                      \
machine gunner -> elite machine gunner

so, they aren't invincible, but in my opinion, they are much too strong and/or have too many soldiers.

and it seems, that thay get them out of nowhere.

    best regards

I tried this as well, before I used the tactic with 300 archers.

I had about 50 Cavaliers, 30 Counts, 80 Elite Kataphraktos, 25 Minor Councilmen, 40 Princes and some other stuff, all in all over 300 knights, and in each battle I killed about 1,5 times soldiers as I lost. But unfortunately 850 is more than 1,5 times 300, so finally I lost. I don't know what I did wrong?

I play on highest difficulty with battle sizer 200.

counts have terrible stats. elite cataphracts, councilmen, and princes have terrible stats and armor. seriously, int build = easy mode. with 14 tactics, surgery, trainer and pathfinding you can zoom around the map with a horde of immortal troops. just make sure they're good troops.
  7. Which troops do you want to see go away?

first, i just want to say that it's ridiculous that you can recruit cavalry more easily as a vaegir than as a swadian. second, i think the noble units like princes, khans, dukes, etc. are superfluous. they can't fight as well as the specialized soldiers and the trainer skill doesn't stack anyways. the only reason to keep them would be if they're the only cavalry like with the nords, but even then, the horses are so slow they might as well be infantry.

Praetorian line (dunno what the advantage)

Tone down the Dark Knights just a little bit.

Maybe a ranged and melee line for the nobles.

    Those are my 0.02$

praetors are pure melee cavalry and cataphracts have swords and bows like khergits, although it's kind of pointless if they both just become commanders. they should split so cataphracts stay as ranged cavalry.

also i think stalkers are pointless too. archers should stay archers. it may be realistic fluff, but it's not like we're really field commanders and can just trade out squads of stalkers for regular archers while they get their melee training in.
  8. Cannoneers?

i'd just  like to point out that the troop tree only includes units that can be upgraded. units with no upgrades like cannoneer and repeater aren't listed.

Well, actually, the Holy Swadian Empire is based off the Holy Roman Empire. See how that makes sense? And the Imperial State is based off 18th-20th century Kaiser-led Germany. So two strikes there.

    pff.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_of_Prussia

read up. brandenburg-prussia was the basis of imperial germany. EDIT: not saying there's not superficial similarities, but putting the german empire in the rennaissance is a bit anachronistic.

also, what do you think HRE stands for?
  10. imperial siege

i read that and i tried it, but like i said, their archers always seem to do more damage. also, sometimes they'll sally their infantry down the ladder in the middle of battle.
  11. imperial siege

there's a lot of topics about fighting in the field with the imperial state, but none about sieging. yet sieging is probably the most difficult with the state. their troops aren't hardy enough for an assault and their guns aren't accurate enough to hit those tiny heads above the walls. every...

there you go again with your baseless assumptions and circumstantial evidence. try to remember that not everyone plays the game exactly like you do.

    Orion 说:
My accusation wasn't from lack of knowledge, but from quite the opposite. I have yet to see a legitimate character who runs around in that ridiculous get-up. You seem to be capable of arming and armoring your companions, but not even your self. What a dumb**** you must be.

let me explain this again. my party is mostly heavy cavalry. i am not. i have to run around the entire perimeter of a castle and clear out all the towers. my party has to charge up the ramp and mob the enemy spawn spot. the fact that i'm running all over makes it harder for the enemy to hit me, which means i need less armor and more speed. the fact that my party is mobbing makes it easier for the enemy to hit them, which means they need more armor.

    Orion 说:
A meatshield can't save you from everything, especially crossbow bolts. Anyone who actually has experience with the game knows that. They also know that you don't ever spawn with 100 knights. And besides, how do you have 100 knights? No low tier units? You mean to tell me you've kept 100 men alive long enough to train them up to top-tier, and then haven't lost any? And how the hell do you have a party size limit of 100 anyways? You don't have maxed charisma, so you can't get 10 in leadership. There's no way in hell you can max strength, have at least 9 agility, and max charisma, and still only be at 339 archery proficiency, especially if you carry around 3 quivers and a bow and nothing else. You're just full of ****, and you fail to see it.

actually, anyone who has experience with the game knows that the defenders usually aim at the infantry charging up the ramp first, which, i feel i must again emphasize, that i'm not part of. secondly, i never said i had no lower tier units. you assumed baselessly that i had none. but i do. and you know what i also have? a castle. and this castle is where i store my upgraded troops when i train recruits/farm renown and store recruits when i go campaigning. and as for the party size, try getting your renown up into the thousands. it's worth it.

    Orion 说:
If you're such a great archer, then you don't have to chase them down, now do you? That's the great thing about having a ranged weapon. Quit being such a stupid **** and realize how contradictory you are.

just because i can do something doesn't mean i want to, you stupid ****. why would i spend the effort when it's much easier to shoot from closer? i don't see you living off the land as a hermit in a cave somewhere, but i'm sure you could if you tried.

    Orion 说:
I didn't say you weren't supposed to, I just said you didn't. I didn't expect you not to. If you hadn't, we never would've gotten in to this situation. Shut the **** up and use what little intelligence you have, because I won't sit here and think for you.

if you didn't expect it to happen, then don't complain when it doesn't happen. retard.

    Orion 说:
Horses could die in .751, too! In fact, they died easier because they had lower health values. You're right, you don't ride horses in sieges. You also eventually have to go up the ladder/siege tower/ramp in sieges, so why carry 3 quivers, a bow, and no melee weapon? No decent armor? Not even a shield for the endless stream of crossbow bolts or arrows?

because i have 100 knights to meatshield for me?

    Orion 说:
If you're so worried about horses dying, as you mentioned earlier, then why not get a hunter? They have 40 more base health than coursers do, and they sacrifice only a point or two of maneuverability and 3 speed. If you're so amazing at this game, then those differences wouldn't bother you at all, would they? And that extra health would prevent you from getting mobbed in foot, which you take counter-intuitive precautions for. Yeah, gotta have the lowest weight possible in case I get mobbed on foot, so I can run away! I'll just carry around the heaviest arrows and bow, and ride the type of horse with the lowest base health. That makes sense!

because it's easier to chase down scattered kherghits on a courser? they have coursers too you know. and i'm not bored enough to change horses and armor before every battle.

    Orion 说:
And it isn't as if he just said "chill out I was just excited," he lashed back at me, and so now we're bashing at each other back and forth. That's how these things evolve, you know.

Hah, I love how you can't even recognize the differences between .751 and .95x! I just ****in' love how you say I look stupid, yet you continue to prove the opposite. There was a complete re-work of the archery mechanics in .800. It took some getting used to, and I'm just as good now as I was when I made that video, if not better.

whatever. i only started playing .90x. either way, that video doesn't qualify as "credentials" for .95x shooting, which was my main point if you couldn't tell.

    Orion 说:
This whole shmeer is ridiculous! It might be your ridiculously low graphics settings, but to me that looks like a short bow. War bows are a bit longer, and they have very obvious curves.

And you honestly dare to insult my knowledge of M&B, and then say that the reinforced flat top helm is the best in terms of defense? Guess we haven't seen the great helmet have we? Or its winged brother?

You talk of getting mobbed on foot, yet in that picture you provided you're on a courser. Stop contradicting your self, you only prove me right.

Also, there are better light armors in terms of defense, and they have approximately the same weight as the leather vest. My arguement about your proficiency and how it should relate to your level and money still stands.

Last I checked, damage does not increase with range. It might if there were proper physics for projectiles, but such is not the case. As it is, I can still shoot somebody in the foot at 10 yards and do as much damage as if I had shot them in the foot at 100.

And tiny epeen? Please. My epeen is comparable in length to the Post Your Dream Women thread.

maybe you should fire up that overclocked dorito and see just how long a war bow really is?

i'm pretty sure i mentioned that i was talking about 2.0 weight helms. last time i checked, great helms were 2.8. i think it's time to take that refresher course on grammar and sentence structure at your local community college.

i don't know about .751 but in .953, horses can die. also, you don't get to ride a horse during a siege last time i checked.

i hope i don't have to remind you that i'm carrying other things besides body armor. 3 large bags of kherghit arrows weigh 10.5 by themselves. find me a better armor weighing 4.0 and you can gloat.

81 damage or not, i know my stats and you couldn't be more wrong about my power draw (here's a hint: 10).

and here's some advice: quit while you're behind.

He's wearing a leather vest and the Strange helmet.

    What the hell is that?

Usually people decide on a 'look' once they've accumulated enough cash to do so.

If he has an archery proficiency of 339, he's obviously killed a lot of people, and killing a lot of people always results in having cash.

With cash, you buy more gear.

Who in their right mind buys a leather vest when they've got a character who would probably be around level 20?

Also, just to let you know about another interesting thing I missed earlier...

81 damage. If he has that much archery proficiency, he obviously spends lots of time using a bow. If you're going to spend a lot of time using a bow, you'll want power draw. On my most recent character, with a power draw of only 5, I've shot people in great helmets for over 100 damage. If he's shooting a vaegir archer in the head for only 81 damage, and vaegir archers don't have much in the way of helmets, then his power draw has got to be extremely low. 1, maybe 2.

Any dedicated archer who is approximately level 20 wouldn't have a power draw of 1 or 2.

lol put away your tiny epeen plz. you're just embarrassing yourself. first off, as you can probably tell, i carry a bow and 3 quivers. what this means is that if i get mobbed on foot, i have to be fast enough to run away. hence the light armor and strange helm. believe it or not, the strange helm is the best 2.0 weight helm. the best helm you can buy (reinforced flat top) is only 43 or 42 defense. second of all, if you're such an expert on archery, you'd know damage decreases with distance. but since you probably have never hit a target more than 2 feet in front of your face, you probably haven't experienced this. and by the way, how am i using a war bow with lvl 1 power draw?
