I also have an HD4850, but I haven't had a problem in any games but Mount and Blade. Oh well, I don't really care... DX7 isn't all THAT bad, and for the price of an equivalent NVidia card (at least according to almost all the benchmarking reviews I have seen) I saved $100 on the 4850.

EDIT: I'm no fanboy either, before this I had a Geforce 6200, and before that an ATI Rage Pro, and have been very happy with all of them for their age.

I am also inclined to believe that this is an overheating issue, especially since in almost all reviews I have read of the HD 4850 they mention that it heats up considerably, and that more a larger fan should be installed on the card.

In what game? I love star wars games, and as far as I can think of, the sniper rifles were awesome in Jedi Knight 2, Jesdi Knight: Jedi Academy, Battlefront 1 and 2, uhhh... I can't think of any others right off the top of my head, but at least in these four, the rifles were plenty accurate.

There are still plenty of Xbox and PS2 games available on the shelves of stores here in Australia, and as far as I can see the 360 still has a healthy 2 or so years of superiority, with several big name games in development atm. Even if they cease making games in a year, it is still an awesome console, pretty cheap for a current gen one and the games already out are pretty decent. I'd buy one... wait, I already have. I bought it about 3 months ago and so far have not been disappointed. I am not an Xbox fanboy either, I just went 360 rather than PS3 because of the price mainly.

I tend to agree... I was told by someone that most flash memory can only handle up to about 100 000 rewrites, so when its being used as virtual memory, its not gonna last all that long...

I doubt anyone cares, but I run my piece of crap machine off 250 watts and its ok, and my sister's dual core off 400 watts.

Don't call people dimwits until you're sure that YOU are not the one to make the mistake. It makes the internetz a much nicer place. Other than that, good luck with your mod! If I had any spare time and wasn't semi involved with other mods I'd give you a hand.

I've had 134 for ages... I guess telling people you can't mod much kind of puts a damper on the PM's 

I had an unusual dream the other night... it started off with me in my old house, with some mates, then we walked out the back onto the beach (I lived about 2 hours inland). This was great, until we realised that all the people living in the houses nearby were enemies, they just didn't know we were there, so we started to formulate escape plans. We had it all worked out, with each of us carrying a different item like food, weapons etc, then we'd swim around the coast, meet at a set point, sneak to a hidden vehicle then make for the border... the dream ended shortly after I realised that my sister who happened to be with us wouldn't be able to swim far enough

Sure, this forum can get pretty nasty, but only when you make un-intelligible posts about completely unrelated crap. When I read that admin saying "Play nice", I thought it was the most stupid piece of administrating I had ever seen. Here was a guy from the Taleworlds forums inviting other people to join, but just warning them to be sensible, and an admin frowns upon it??

You guys keep going on about how crap your computers are and how anyone should be able to run this mod... so can you actually post the stats of your computers so that I can get some comparison as to whether I can run this mod? Because I have also done some high poly modeling in M&B for testing purposes, and have run some other high poly models, and they've caused a lot of lag.

Mm, I'm still here... I just haven't really had the desire or the time to mod recently. I've done a little bit, but I always just stop when it comes to texturing, because I hate it and its really boring.

The armour looks awesome, but are you planning to implement any grittier sort of armour? Also some futuristic stuff with electronic components, a bit like Darth Vaders or something?

Well... by the sounds of it you have a graphics problem... what is the model number of your graphics card? (You can find this by going to the "Settings" tab in your display properties, and it will say something like "Default Monitor on >GRAPHICS MODEL HERE<"). I would firstly try updating your graphics drivers by going to the manufacturers site and searching on the download page. Unfortunately a lot of laptop GPU's just aren't very good, and your computer may not play M&B.
