  1. Bannerlord needs to learn from Warband

I've been saying this from the start..villages used to be fiefs in their own right too. You joined a clan got issued a village , fought wars got acclaim , went to feasts , wooed a lady , worked your way up to a castle and then eventually a town...
    This

The people (well, ONE) who say things haven't changed from Warband seem to have not even played the game. They didn't improve anything, they only streamlined, and very little in a way that makes it better (the only thing I appreciate more is finally having an interface to vote for things like supporting a lord on getting a fief, rather than having to chase people down to exchange opinions).

Take the courting for example, there was a million ways to make it a bit better and more involved than just having a retarded minigame and nothing else. For example when courting a lady you could have several steps, the speech minigame being the first. Then she might start to ask you small quests based on her personality, for example she might ask you to go help a village in need and do one of their quests to show kindness; she might ask you to win a tournament in her name; she might ask you to briefly take her in your party with you and go win a battle because she wants to see the thrill of the fight firsthand. Even after the marriage your spose becomes just a completely lifeless placeholder.

They had to dedicate time to the immersion and rpg elements of the game to make it stand out from Warband, they did nothing, instead we got a ****ty campaign no one gives a **** about (and 1 year to get the sandbox mode which should have been the default from the start).
  2. [QUESTIONS] Quick Questions//Quick Answers (Redux)

Guys do you know if the options to create multiple CKO (not multiple chapter of the same) was removed? I'm sure it was doable in the past, but now I just get the option to create a chapter of my already existing CKO, or any other KO. I do have the money, qualis gems and general requirements
  3. [MODDING] Prophesy of Pendor Tweaks and Talk

Hey Gorvex, editing this post as I've ran some tests after redoing the procedure a few times, and I think the issue is the tweak is not savegame compatible. I'm not sure if this was obvious and I missed it, but figured I'd report it in case: on a fresh start, I tried accessing Elacrai with cheats, and everything plays out fine (I didn't go through the whole marriage thing, but the dialogues are not broken). On the ongoing savegame, it simply keeps giving the error above.

Just for clarity, I redid the procedure (3 times), checked the numbers at the end of tweak (all match correctly) and I think the game version is fine since it's downloaded directly from Steam Workshop.
  4. [MODDING] Prophesy of Pendor Tweaks and Talk

So guys, sorry for the spam, I wrote on the wiki page also just in case. This thing of the tweaks kinda opened up a whole world for me

I tried 17w, the one that adds the 2 noldor ladies. They now appear correctly in Elacrai but I get these problems:

    1) Both of them only have the dialogue "Surrender or die. Make your choice", player replying automatically "Today is a good day to die! Let us fight."
    2) Calanon and Sadren do not have any of the normal dialogue regarding daughters eligible to wed, despite being in theory their guardians (I'm not sure if this is intended, perhaps they only get dialogue after I ask one of the girls to marry, to initiate the wedding procedure).

I've tried going back through the files and I can't find glaring errors, anyone has any idea?
  5. [QUESTIONS] Quick Questions//Quick Answers (Redux)

Yeah that's where I'm at, I've searched all over the ruins and haven't found anything. I go inside, click "investigate area", ride around the whole place on my horse, dismount, and carefully examine every tree, bush, rock and ruined building, and haven't found anything. Is there supposed to be a chest there like the one in Rane? Or am I supposed to encounter an NPC or something?

when you ride in, follow the road, head to the right inside the ruins, then right again until you see what remains of a tower. There are stairs outside, ignore them, go inside. The chest is partially hidden against a wall and covered by debris
  6. [MODDING] Prophesy of Pendor Tweaks and Talk

aah, no apologies, the one I saw was this:
13 g) To make conquered fiefs which got the appointment defered to a later point hire troops of your faction instead of the initial one

I had missed the one you mention, but since you say it's a request I assume there's no tweak for it. Shame, it's really bugging me. But I saw a ton of tweaks that I wasn't aware of and I'm gonna try, thanks so much to everyone who is involved in sharing that knowledge
  7. [MODDING] Prophesy of Pendor Tweaks and Talk

I have to ask, is there any way to tweak the system that assigns premade garrisons so that if I conquer a castle or town myself, and "ask for it as a reward" and receive it, I get the premade garrison and don't stand around with an empty city until I fill it myself?

The reason I am asking is, what I used to do was conquer stuff on my own, then "ask for no rewards", and the lords would usually agree that the fief should go to me because it "should go to the one who captured it". This would also grant me the base npc garrison. This was changed at some point, because now if I don't ask for the fief directly, they don't consider the conquer status and I basically need to convince lords individually to support me, which is though on its own but almost impossible if I'm not the marshal because there is simply no time to reach enough of them even if I had the votes. Then I get the fief, but with 0 garrison and I spend ages fighting off even the most idiotic Sarleon lord with 50 troops laying siege. It's driving me nuts.

I have seen there is something on the wiki page about this, but I'm not sure it exactly applies to the situation I mentioned.
  8. Having fun in Bannerlord ?(some general toughts after 100+ hours of gameplay)

I think I will be laughed out of the thread but aside from the many things you all already pointed out, there are two that just keep stopping me from enjoying the game.

    1) The graphics for the character just look too goddamn ugly. I'm ok with the general inbred looking theme that should supposedly portray a rough medieval world, but it's just too much, and aside from that whenever I look at my character and he seems like the love child of Shrek and Lord Kroak I just don't feel immersed. Mind you this has nothing to do with character creation, I even use the char creation mod, this is the armors being designed so they make the wearer look disproportionate

    2) The mounted combat isn't cutting it for me. I have hundreds of hours on Warband, I'm ok with understanding it maye take some getting used to Bannerlord, but there's just something wrong with trying to hit stuff from horse (especially against infantry). I remember when I first played the origina M&B (pre-warband) and fighting on foot or on horse just felt natural and fun, it's after all what launched the game back then. This isn't it, the mounted combat imho needs a lot of attention.
  9. Which leveling system do you prefer Warband or Bannerlord?

You know what, maybe I'm stupid but I don't think I understood all that well how the skill system works.
You have 2 points to invest every level and all those 2 points do is increase the cap for each skill, but then you actually level the skill by using it right? I ask because those 2 points every level seem completely useless to me, I could have say One-Hand Weapon up to 100 cap right now but I can barely get the actuall skill past 30 and I use it all the time, it basically removes any sense in actual level ups
  10. What do you want from the 1.1 patch?

Am I really the only one who really, really wants male character body to stop looking llike they have Santa Claus' belly?
  11. Main questline restricts gameplay and is plain boring.

Having to "ignore the main questline sitting in my quest log" feels wrong and makes me feel like I'm "playing the wrong way", it should just be made completely optional when starting a new game, this really isn't hard at all, Viking Conquest had this feature, you could select if you wanted to play Story mode or Sandbox mode, same should be done in Bannerlord.

    +1
    It's a matter of immersion.
  12. This time last week we were all excited

p.s. Wondering if some are thinking of warband + mods instead of vanilla warband when making comparisons online btw.

And why should I not consider mods when making comparisons? Would you assume it to make any sense for Bannerlord to come out after having stuff like Diplomacy not integrated by default, at least in some version that is inspired by it?
The mods are there, there's been 8 years to see the good and the bad they brought and integrate them where necessary or appropriate.
  13. I played Bannerlord.

The game brings so much nothing but beauty that I'm going back to PoP.

I don't know where you see beauty.
This is a screenshot of bannerlord, max settings, on a Ryzen 3800 with RTX 2060 Super:

You may think those low quality trees are ****, or that the sky that looks like a wallpaper from windows 95 is ****, but it's probably because you didn't immediately notice how the character looks like he's cosplaying Shrek (and you can't edit the body in any way or form).
Oh and that's with any armor of any kind.
  14. This time last week we were all excited

I think the main issue is that the default character presets all come across unrealistic and cartoony so everyone ends up looking in that style and being very broad. Each faction should have realistic presets from the start

My guess is what they screwed up is actually the design of the armors. If you look at the naked character in the char creation, it's not great, but it looks more or less ok. Put any armor on him and he becomes god-awful, with a goddamn beer belly and disproporionate arms. It really bugs the **** out of me because it completely kills my immersion. I'm surprised to be honest I don't see more people pissed off with this, to me it's almost a deal breaker.
  15. Bannerlord SP First Reactions: Megathread

Doesn't feel like 8 years of development. Sorry.

This is really the core of the problem with this game for me. I'm less disappointed than others mainly because I was expecting it to be **** (actually I was expecting it to never release at all), and it's not bad, but as you say it feels more like a Warband mod. My problem is not even the missing stuff or the lack of innovations. It's that I really can't see where the hell did 8 years of development go.Graphics - something I wasn't really expecting much of - are sufficient at best with some really obscene character design that make people look like disproportionate half ogres. Horseback fighting vs infantry is broken due to some blatant issue with either weapon length or hitboxes (at first I thought maybe I'm using an incredibly short sword, but nope, it's actually one of the longest I could find). Plus there are some absolutely absurd decisions like arenas not giving XP, even a relatively minor thing like removing the auto-blocking feels like a slap in the face. People keep saying there's still one year of development but if this is the state of things after 8, I don't expect much from another year out.
  16. Why no skill gains in practice and tournaments?

I agree it's annoying, but I imagine they made it like that so one can't cheese the abilities by just doing practice fights over and over.

I think tournaments should give some XP at least

I agree, besides not everything should only be condensed in the reasoning of "not cheese" in a single player game. I always loved in Warband to play the hero that goes from town to town winning tournaments and courting ladies, but it's ridiculous to do it if you get zero improvement for your character meanwhile. It would make far more sense to at least nerf the money reward (compared to Warband, not compared to current Bannerlord which is already nerfed to ****) since they used to be gigantic, but make it so that by fighting in tournaments you hone your personal skills.
  17. This time last week we were all excited

People complain too quickly, there is a year left to finalize the game.
I do not worry because the body of the game is there, it is missing only a few bug fixes and new additions for a year !
Look at how many bugs were resolved in such a short time and now just imagine what is coming soon

I'm not exceedingly worried because the first impression is good, better than I was fearing it would be. And I do have well in mind that early access means an unfinished product (plus I think they have been very clear and transparent about what's in and what's not in).

However I am rather concerned at the state of the game even taking the EA status in full account. The graphics is barely sufficient, I wasn't expecting any next-gen miracle, but jesus christ the characters look like fat bozos, who the hell designed the bodies and what were they smoking? Things like the sky in most instances looks like nothing more than a gradient of blue. Some other things like finding out proper companions (with backstory and personality) are not even in yet just made me freeze. Writing companion dialogues literally only take the time to write a few lines, without wanting to disrespect the writers and their work, how the hell are not real companions in after what 8 years of development? What have they been doing all this time?

I know it comes off as harsh but really the more I play, even though I'm not disliking the game, I keep wondering what the hell did they spend the past years on.
  18. Perisno Q&A + FAQ

    Lazy Buttons 说:
Leonion doesn't like it when you can bypass his big meaty garrisons
The number of reinforcements for the sieges in the game options does nothing, it  doesn't work, don't bother. You'll have to go digging through the module .txt files for this.
I personally just alt-tab for most sieges once my troops breach the walls and take out the toughest defenders. Do something else while my troops mop up the low-level enemies left.

Wait a moment, he removed the option? After he put it in?
  19. Perisno Q&A + FAQ

Could anyone remind me how the reinforcements in siege were tweaked, and what should I change to bring them back to the "original" system? I remember there was a big discussion about it and I didn't really like the the new system that essentially forced you to fight against the entire numbers of the garrisoned fief, I know it's more realistic but the battles just take forever. I looked in the options and there are some strings about reinforcements which I set to "default", but I tried sieging Elintor and it seemed to go on through the entire garrison waves anyway, even if I set it as 3 in the options.
