This mod looks pretty good (I especially like the armours), but I had to laugh at the name! I happen to live in Carrick. It's a district in Cornwall (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrick,_Cornwall).

@Xander: You can tell your troops to go and sit on that hill over there. Hold the F1 button and move your mouse around until your flag points to a place where you want your troops to go.

I think this is a pretty cool idea! There are two refinements I can think of. The first would be that you could have a bit in the options menu where you could choose if you wanted the battle to pause while in command view or to continue around you (more realistic). The other thing that would make more sense is that you can only see enemy troops in command view if you can see them in normal view (i.e. you have a fog of war over the areas that your character can't see from his current position).

Considering how many files there are and the size of the files, and considering there are no loading screens while you are playing the game, I'd say it loads quite fast. It'll be slower that M&B because of the number of files and the size of the files. You could try telling the game to load textures on demand from the configuration menu, but you may have to put up with momentary low-rez textures while the game loads up the textures when you are in the scene.

What are your system specs? Mine used to lag horribly sometimes during sieges in vanilla, but now I can stick it onto full graphics and it'll run smoothly no matter what I do.
As for surviving early on, try lowering the difficulty settings to minimum at the beginning and stay on horseback. I've managed to take out groups of 25+ bandits that way on my own.

It's way too soon for mods on the scale of what we've seen in M&B, but hopefully we'll be getting some TCs in a few months.

So-far I've seen one instance of rain and one of fog, but I can't help feeling there should be a little more...

Can I offer a differing opinion?
Warband on easiest does seem to be a little harder than M&B on easiest. I find my men get killed off quicker, or I might just have been lucky before.
It's still early days and I haven't been able to put in the same hours yet as with M&B, so it may just be that I need practise with the new combat mechanics.

I think it would only work if you did a whole realism overhaul with all the major Kingdoms from Medieval Europe. There was a mod like that for M&B, but the map was a little crowded. Maybe they could do another version for WB, seeing as it seems to support larger maps.

Ya, there are definitely not enough bandits. In M&B there were bandits everywhere and now I can't find anyone to fight against. What are the feasts like? I still havent gone to any.

The feasts are just when all the Lords and Ladies gather together in one place. It's good from the point of view of actually being able to find them all easily. Most of the time they all seem to be off trying to avoid me! lol.

I finally got my copy to work. I removed all shadows, turned off Rag-doll Physics and set corpses to zero.
So-far I'm really enjoying it!

Unfortunately it looks like most of these crash bugs could just be caused by M&B overloading... but if it's not happening on vonmistont's machine then it may not be that.
I've used various graphics mods (not at the moment though, so they're not the problem) that have crashed the game even though my machine should be capable of coping with any modern game (4GB RAM, 1GB Dedicated Graphics and Quad Core processor).
I'm getting a message telling me that the program has requested to close in an 'unusual' way (or something like that) less than a minute into a battle.

The problem with HoI 3 is that it is so laggy, even on a beast of a machine like mine. I stopped playing after an hour or two.
