I've noticed that it's not possible to loot and burn a village unless you have a negative relation with its governing faction. If you could make a tweak that would allow the senseless destruction of all but your own fiefs, that would be great.
Sword sisters all the way! They have the fastest horses, they are the only unit that gets plate armor, their swords have an attack speed of 105, AND they sometimes get crossbows. Sure, they don't always have helmets, and their stats are low, but those are the only downsides! Besides, the fact that they are so hard to recruit just makes them special!
Class system has three main classes;
Diplomat
Warrior
Trader
Didn't decide which skills to cap but it goes like this;
Class skill goes up to 15 (Trade for Trader)
Common skill goes up to 10 (Prisoner management)
Non-Class skill goes up 5 (Archicture for Warrior)
This mod sounds great! But you may want to include a few more classes than that. I myself usually play as an int whore, and none of those seem to fit me.
I once ;TOTALLY RAPED NINE travelling Khergit peasants, with 42 Veterans, Huscarls and Mercenary Cavalry, and now comes the even more amazing part, only casualite I took was - MYSELF killed by first peasant women!
Now I bet there's no one to compare their victories with this!
I don't think there should be any limits at all. Keep in mind weapons have no hotkeys and can only be scrolled through in one direction, so the more weapons you have, the harder it is to find the one you want in a pack. I usually have one or two empty slots for this reason alone.
And lets not forget that M&B is about doing what you want to do! And if you want to run into battle carrying three bags of throwing axes, a great axe, a bastard sword, a shield, a crossbow and some bolts, you should be able to do that and enjoy the massive movement speed penalty that would come with it.
If your damage to self is option set to anything less than full, then half the people on this board could have done that, so go be arrogant somewhere else.
If it was set to full, congrats on your victory, now please go be arrogant somewhere else.
I believe it applies if your health is above a certain percentage. If you manage to get your silly self knocked out, it won't apply until your health has hit that percentage.
The cap for your allies is 15%, but the cap for you is 5% (unless you have a modified .ini), and you never go below that, even if you get knocked out. It applies.
Ever get into a 1000+ vs 20-or-so battle? Because that's when you auto-calc. Combat is fun, but battles like that are nothing more than 30 seconds of lag followed 5 seconds of soldiers cheering as like just won the ****ing lottery.
Why no, no I don't. My computer can handle 100 man battles, so I don't bother with battle sizer. I'm assuming that that's what you are using to get the horrible results that you are describing - why not scale back to reality (realistic performance wise, not medieval combat-wise)?
I don't see the point in scaling up that high just to resort to auto-fighting, thus missing the primary thrust of the game (fighting) in favor of the other, underdeveloped aspects (everything other than fighting) of the experience.
My battlesizer is set to 300, but that's irrelevant. With battlesizer, you get a lagfest, without it, you get an enemy that can only deploy two people per wave due to the massively over matched battle advantage.
Once in a blue moon, asking a lord who likes you will allow you to temporarily sign up with a his faction as a mercenary captain. This doesn't pay much directly, but it allows you to join friendly lords in large-scale battles, which yields decent loot and renown. Getting renown means you move on your way to vassalage, and vassalage means you get to collect taxes from your fief.
Rhodocks are either Italian City States, the Northern Russian Trade City-States (Novgrod), or Balkan peoples. They fit I think best as Balkanites given I've heard they were largely guerilla infantry fighters (Except for the nobility), the issue only being the crossbow.
Actually, Rhodoks field armies just as large as the other factions. And keep in mind there is more to a faction than military, there's the economy too!
The Swadians produce wheat, so European seems to fit.
The Vaegirs produce furs, and dried meats. Rules out the moorish empire, but it's still up for grabs.
Khergits are spice traders--Genghis Khan opened up spice trade routes to the far east, so Mongolian seems to fit there.
Nords catch fishies. Yay fishies! Vikings caught lots of fishies!
Rhodoks. Velvets and wine. I'd say Italy with that.
It's simple. You need more Johnsons on the battlefield. More bows would help, too... you want the bulk of your troops to be ranged, not melee, for sieges. Anyway, if you have high renown and a good rep with lords, assemble a warband (Will you follow me? I have a plan!) and have at it!
If not, find some captured rhodok towns that don't hate you and recruit as many sharpshooters as you can. 75 should be enough, assuming you have a high surgery skill and a lot of delicious food.
You don't have to lay siege, it's just frustrating to spend several hours banging your shields and calling the enemy elderberry-smelling sons of hamsters and not get any response.
If you're really good you'll get a feel for when they'll rush out the gates versus when they stay holed up. If you can get them to sally forth you can knock out the lords, so when the lord parties finally do decide to bolt the injured lords can't contribute their skills.
I'm still puzzeld over why you would want to do any auto-fighting at all; it would be like ordering a hamburger, hold the meat. And the bun. And the condiments.
