    [Victor]: Bug Reports

    My first impression of this mod is excellent, the time period is interesting and this mod has much potential. Formation script would be nice  :roll:.
    But I am having a major problem with the mod. Every battle causes a CTD soon after the first shots are fired. I am not using any graphical enhancements. Any ideas?

    It's great to see that there are skilled and creative people who are willing to contribute to the mod in ways other than nonconstructive criticism and mocking others...  :!:

    ealabor, I have sent you the source and some random babbling about the state of this mod. By the looks of your screenshots I can say that
    this mod will advance to the right direction.

    My life's most important exams begin in two weeks so I can't prioritize this mod very high now...  :???: I am not releasing the source publicly but I have given it to those who I trust to take good care of this mod.  :smile:
    This doesn't mean that I am giving up on the mod definitely, in law terms one could say that this mod is given to ealabor as a foster child  :roll:

    Ah! In the module system's python files there is a "guarantee_ranged" agent, which - as the name suggests - guarantees that each unit of that kind has the ranged weapon. Without it it's random whether the unit gets the ranged weapon or not. But this is when the unit becomes regarded as an archer I suppose! So I could add the pilas to legionaries if I wouldn't put in the "guarantee_ranged" agent. Or that's what I think.  :roll:

    Maybe I failed to notice but I don't think so.

    I'm glad you like it!
    Unfortunately this is a known issue which I don't have solution for. When they had their pilum, they were regarded as archers, not infantry, which caused problems. They wouldn't for example hold their shields up...  :neutral:

    I know that I haven't been too active for a while. I won't be having very much time for this mod during the next few months because of my Matriculation Examination. I'm still going to work on this now and then and any help is very greatly appreciated. :smile:

    The next version will be released depending on whether I choose to make it a small bugfix or a new version with new features. The bugs that shall be smashed anyway are the horse deformation and the buggy Greek swords.
    The Spartan armour was added to merchants in the newest version (0.4). It's a bit rare so you won't see it everywhere.

    I have exactly the same problem. The 0.89x module system is working fine, but the new 0.901 won't cooperate.

    These kind of copyright questions are one of the things which always rise conversation.
    I'm not 100% sure, correct me if I'm wrong, but theoretically you are not allowed to use anything made by someone else without permission.
    Then again, the law must be interpretated in every situation taking everything into account. Basically it's the copyright holders' decision if they allow their products to be used. Practically I don't think that a big company would be interested if someone uses a part of their work in noncommercial purpose unless they want to take a strict approach on copyright issues.

    Well, now that the exams are over (for a while) I can consentrate on real issues!  :mrgreen:
    Everything is looking superb Tiberius! Those will make an excellent addition to the mod!

    That's cool,  but may I suggest to PuuKKo to either wait 'till next week to port it to .900  or just hope it will be usable with the games from .894.  Just a suggestion, again its completely up to you, but just trying to possibly save you some work what with exams and all.  By the way good luck with those!  Also may I ask what grade you're in?  I myself am just a Freshman in High School.
    I will wait for a week or so to see if Armagan releases more bug fixes and then I shall begin the work on converting Legions into 0.9xx. I think I've found the reason for the errors at game start: there are not enough banners for every hero.
    PS: I am in my last year (third) of high school here in Finland. Approximately 30 days left!

    EDIT1: Ok, I found Ymira.

    EDIT2: Dude... how much tactics points did you put on the enemy generals? Everytime I fight, lets say, 30 vs 30 I start with 10 units and the enemy starts with full 30 (I know I only have 2 on tactics skill but damn...) And for some reason those 10 are always crappy units (recently recruited peasants, etc)

    EDIT3: Does the fief giving sistem work in this version? cause I captured a castle but It didn't let me ask the leader to keep it. And after a few minutes I had captured it, the castle became some other noble's fief :S

    EDIT4: OMG I WANT TEH SPARTAN ARMOR OLOLOLOL!!!11!1 :lol:

    EDIT5: I found borcha :mrgreen: I caught em all! :lol:

    As you found out, all the heroes are there, Rolf has transformed into Marcus and others have been modified a bit.  :smile:

    Tactics not modified but parties are larger and that affects the amount of troops they get on the field.

    Fief giving is as in native: it's pretty random whether you get the new village or if it's given to someone else.

    And I think that was all...
    Oh did someone mention the Spartan armor?  :lol:

    Well, currently it's not for sale, only lootable, which is stupid I know. I had this thought about making it available after some special quest or something like that. Other possibility is to add it into some crate or making it very expensive.

    Anyway, PuuKKo, maybe you could borrow the buildings models and textures from The Peloponnesian War from Lynores to make the roman and greek buildings?

    Ah, that must be the reason why it never has happened to me!  :grin:

    About the buildings: I've thought the same, but when I last tried the edit mode I wasn't able to use the editing options box because I couldn't see it but in flashes. Weird...  :shock:

    Anybody else have their map upside down? I haven't got such problem. The Greek faction colour is a placeholder, until I find the code for dark red for the Romans. Background pictures will be taken care of sooner or later.

    I have read about this. It indeed sounds like the Last-Troop-Bug as Tiberius mentioned. I haven't had this problem myself.


    Well this is starting to feel like a real mod with all these bugs everywhere!  :grin:

    Eventhough I get those errors about "kingdom_heroes", all the added heroes are there.
    The castle problem still occurs. I tried to solve it, but ended up having village scenes instead of castles. When trying to fix that I got back to having the prisoner conversation...  :shock:

    Release is imminent!

    New features:
    -The Greek faction
    -Modified the map (replaced and renamed the towns, villages & castles)
    -Small fixes and additions everywhere

    Known bugs:
    -Few error messages at the beginning
    -Attican helmets didn't work so they use Corinthian helmet meshes at the moment
    -Greek castles give the prison guard dialog (can't attack them)

    Yep, straight at the beginning I get one and a bit later three more. I added the merchants and the scenes without problems, only issues now are the error messages.

    Finally, the Greek faction is done. I had to use the map editor and remove and re-add the towns, villages and castles. I also modified the map a bit and renamed most towns and villages. There are still some small issues, but I'll try to polish them out before releasing.

    OK, I got it working by modifying the parties.py. Now the Greeks work well but there are still some problems:

    -I still get some errors at the beginning:


    -The shopkeepers have wrong inventories (armorer has the weapons, arms dealer has empty inventory)

    -The game crashes when entering villages (missing scenes I think)

    -When entering the castles I get the prison guard conversation
