Bannerlord is mis-advertised by the devs on Steam (yes, even taking into account Early Access)

No, lots of us - me included - were there, then. The thing is, they never lied about what "OG M&B" was, or the state it was in, nor did they charge AAA price for it on day one. Contrast with Bannerlord which is grossly misrepresented, way overpriced and at this point hasn't had a update in nearly a month, despite being only a few months into the EA process. How anyone can be satisfied, let alone actively defend this is beyond me. Must be some sort of Stockholm Syndrome/Sunk Cost Fallacy combination.
Yup, you got me, I sure hope they let me out of the cellar soon. ?

The sunk cost is negligible, I don't spend money on video games if I cant afford to. If money is tight I'd suggest not buying early access video games, or any video game for that matter.

I'm not stressed out about a game taking time to develop. I'll do exactly what I did back in 2005 and check in on the game every few months to see how its progressing. I got exactly what I expected when I handed them my money, an unfinished product with potential to be great. If I wanted to know what the finished product would be before I spent, I'd have waited until the product was finished. It must be tough for you to go when going through real hardship in your life if this is how a video game affects you.

You're so right though, anyone with a different perspective than you is stupid, has flawed logic or is imprisoned in Armagans basement. It's the only possibility.

Congratulations on learning about Hanlons razor and Stockholm syndrome. You're actually qualified to practice as a psychiatrist now that you've shown off your knowledge on an internet message board.

Bannerlord is mis-advertised by the devs on Steam (yes, even taking into account Early Access)

Has everyone forgotten that the OG Mount and Blade was released in an Early Access format 3-4 YEARS before it was released in its final version? Because they had never made a game before, they released it on a rolling payscale where with each update, the purchase price for the game increased. They have now proven that they have what it takes to complete a title and have released a game that plays like a better shinier Warband with the potential for being much more. The defeatism from people who think the game will not progress further than what it is does not match Taleworlds track record. Given the huge influx of cash into the company with this EA release I think we are nearly guaranteed a large amount of content coming to flesh out Bannerlord. To say this game is unplayable flies in the face of the majority of players who have spent tons of hours playing the game without major gamebreaking issues. That's not to say it's perfect, and not to say it's balanced, but Taleworlds is now receiving feedback on thousands of iterations from player playthroughs that they would not otherwise have at this point in development. The game has flaws, but I wouldn't describe it as flawed. If you want that more polished experience you are (almost) guaranteed to get in when the game leaves early access, as is the case with every other Early Access game.

No one has forced you to purchase this game, and if you had taken time before paying the money you could have easily come onto message boards and read feedback from actual players that could have guided your decision. No one is censoring reviews, threads of bug reports are open to the public. While feeling cheated sucks, judging by the Steam reviews, it's clearly a minority opinion. If the game was released in Early Access and then abandoned, I think you would be justified, but updates have been frequent, and helpful (though sometimes with unintended consequences).

Why Sturgia often grows weak, Khuzait often grows strong

Why not an attrition mechanic? Adding more cities is all well and good, but northern wastelands don't traditionally have huge populations. They do however have a proud tradition of killing invaders as the winter snows set in. Give units varying degrees of weather resistance. Sturgians do well in snow, Aserai do well in heat, the kingdoms in the temperate region are somewhere in between. Waging war with Vlandian Knights in the middle of Summer in Aserai should cause attrition losses. Same goes for Winter in Sturgia. These types of regions historically have defended themselves with not just their people but their geography. There are ways to balance this while adding realism and without just slapping more cities into the mix I think.

    Shreddies: Diamond vs. Square...WTF???

    AgentSword 说:
I know this, but that's my point! You guys are saying its a joke, but if that is the case, then they are certainly putting a lot of effort into it.

It's a marketing campaign, it's also been going on for a while now, this is just the latest installment.
    Enjoy - May 2008

    From the article.
"Comedian Kerry Griffin conducted focus groups, interviewing 15 people before video cameras. The Ogilvy team expected humour to spring from people taking offence at being treated like fools and lashing back at Griffin. That didn't happen. Rather, the spots serve as case studies in bovine consumer acceptance. Participants politely answered absurd questions such as "Does the diamond Shreddie taste better than the square one?" ("It had more punch," avowed one man, nodding), and "Rank Diamond Shreddies as an animal, from an amoeba up to an elephant" ("A kangaroo," said one woman). One man who said he thought the two shapes looked the same was cowed when Griffin made the analogy with the numbers six and nine. "When you turn a six over it's a nine," Griffin told him patiently. "But a six is very different from a nine." The proceedings also highlighted the dubious efficacy of focus groups, one of the altars the advertising industry worships at. Vonk concedes they possess a fatal flaw: "I don't think people always say what they really think," she says. When told they'd been pranked, all but one participant agreed to allow the footage to be aired.

Additionally, keep in mind that the video interviews are conducted on people who think that the interview is being conducted to gain information about the rebranding. Their responses need to be looked at in that context. They're saying their reaction to the repackaging of the shreddies. So while they seem to realize that the product itself hasn't changed, they answer questions more in line with how the change in packaging affects their perception of the product. This still results in some fairly amusing dialoge.

Introduced M&B to a cousin of mine

    To summarize this thread.
udm: I gave my serial to cousin. Now he really likes this game and is going to buy it!
    Everyone else: Die pirate scum!
    Merlkir: I did that too..
    Everyone else: Die pirate scum!

Oh, and I lent out my serial key too, once to a guy who didn't like the game and never played it again, another to another guy who bought it.

Personally, the thing I really don't get are the recon missions you sometimes get during campaigns.  I've had ones where I had 4 days left to complete the mission and then I would suddenly get Quest Failed at certain times of day.

Those quest failed messages appear when the marshall of your faction changes while you are doing the mission.

A message pops up, 'Lord X is the new Marshall of Y' and since you can no longer complete the mission for the old marshall you fail the quest.

    Speaking German - Tips

While this is probably not the best advice for someone about to enter an exam, I found a drink or two can greatly facilitate language speaking.  (This is actually a serious observation, I've heard all the ridicule about it but I stand by it)

There's been a study about it, and there are discernable differences in the pronunciation of people speaking their second language depending on whether or not they've been drinking.

There's also discernible differences in the pronunciation of people speaking their first language depending on whether or not they've been drinking.

    Workout Method

Stretching after exercise is just as or more important that stretching before.
If it's pulling muscles that your bro was worried about then most likely it was your technique that he was talking about as opposed to the actual exercises. Internet forums are a bad way to teach technique, but if you know any experienced lifters/personal trainers it would probably be a good idea to ask for tips. Bad form (especially for benching) might not hurt you when you start, but once you start pushing heavier and heavier lifts bad form can cause serious problems.

Also probably not a bad idea to do some light cardio (High knees, chair steps) before starting the workout along with your stretches, gets the blood pumping and the muscles warmed up.

ATP energy is essentially the energy your body uses for high intensity low duration exercises. It typically doesn't last very long before your body switches over to it's secondary energy source. Athletes who compete in events that have short durations sometimes try to train their ATP system to last longer and recharge faster by timing their workouts in certain ways. Most likely this isn't an issue for you at all if you're just trying to improve your overall conditioning.

    Workout Method

What proof did your bro use to say you were doing it wrong?
One thing I would suggest is more variety, i.e. preacher curls, hammer curls, military press etc.
Also bodyweight exercises crunches, situps, lateral leg raises, pushups, squats are good.
The system you're you using seems to be relying (slightly) on muscle confusion (no idea as to the weight you're using). But muscle confusion is a good thing (it's the premise behind an exercise program called P90X) it avoids highly repetitive exercise to prevent your muscles from becoming trained to do only a specific few movements. So as far as that goes, I see no problem switching between exercises. You might want to try cutting down on the break time you're taking, unless you're trying to condition your ATP energy system for a specific amount of time between exercises.

Oh, and cilantro is coriander, right?

    Yes and no.

...when speaking of coriander, most people are referring to the spice produced from the seeds of the plant. The leaves of the plant are commonly called cilantro... the plant's leaves and the ripened seeds taste completely different.

    Darwinbots

Cool, but rather ironic. Darwinbots, but it's nothing like natural selection - in fact it's the opposite of natural selection as it's controlled by you. A true Darwinbots would have you just watching the evolution take place, but that wouldn't work either, cause someone would've had to write the code for that too.

Anyways... Reading through a tutorial now, could be fun.

@ Lhorkan - his neck seems, for lack of a better word, ****ed up.
I believe the problem is the muscles supporting the neck which should be level with the shoulders, are in fact sticking up by a couple inches raising the neck so that it looks strange.
I like the face and the hair looks excellent in my opinion however.

You could have a concussion of the brain so don't sleep for at least a week or you might die. [...]

No loss of consciousness, no confusion, no amnesia, pupils same size. If I've got a concussion it's very mild, I've had them before. I'm getting woken up every two hours.
Thing about going to the doctor, there's nothing they could really tell me I don't already know. This is pretty much what they'd say.
    - Mild head trauma to the occipital bone.
    - Cerebral fluid discharged through the nasal cavity as a result.
    - Might have a mild concussion but there's nothing they can do about that except put me on a wakeup schedule.
    - If I start getting headaches/ any kind of neurological symptoms,  go to emerge immediately.
    - Ditto if any cerebral fluid leaks again.
    - Rest.
    - Don't play contact sports for a few weeks.

So I'm not sure what going the the doctor would accomplish, there's really nothing they can do for head injuries besides a) MRI/ CAT scans and then surgery if it's really serious or b) Let nature do its thing.
If anything gets worse/ changes I'm definately going in to emerge, I just don't really see the point at the moment. Besides, it's Friday night, I'd be in there with all the kids who got alcohol poisoning and all the kids who got in fights. I hate busy emerge wards.
