QUEST OBJECTS NOT FOLLOWING ME: cows, kidnapped girl, etc.

For the cows, click on them and select "Drive Cattle" or Herd or something like that. They won't follow you, they'll be driven before you so you have to think about where you're going and get behind them in that direction which can require a bit of maneuvering.

For the Kidnapped girl, similarly you need to click on her, however, she'll join your party when the dialogue screen opens.

    Hope that helps.

EDIT: Ah, beat me to it.

    Mount & Blade hands-on preview

So, after reading the preview and comments I noticed this:

The preview is mostly positive, but the only negative aspects he presented (and suitably backed up) were instantly attacked and a couple were worded in a hostile manner. Further, the arguments basically boiled down to someone presenting a problem, the critic addressing them/defended his opinion and then someone who didn't read any of the comments brought up the same issues... again... and then again. The critic is a M&B fan but was looking at it from the perspective of the mass market. Which as well know can sometimes be like a 10 year old on a sugar rush, that is, no attention span and a desire for instant gratification. And if the critic found some of the features lacking or difficult to figure out, then that shows incompleteness (which it is, still beta) and/or design flaws (which should exist still) and there's nothing wrong with either and both are present.

But before you open your mouths (or hands, rather) make sure you think about what you're saying and how other people will perceive it, because a game's fan base shouldn't be known as hostile children whenever their favorite game is criticized in any way.

A game that spoke to you!

    Triosta 说:
Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom. Opening theme was awesome, and I could listen for hours.

You could marry in that game, choosing between 2 women. TWICE. Your son, and then the son of your son continued the story. Also, who you married determined which way the story would go. If you chose wife A, this happened. If you chose wife B, that happened. I always chose wife B at the start because if I didn't, a section of the world would have been destroyed in the plotline. If you chose wife A, goodbye 1/7th of the world.

Whoa... I never knew that about that game. I used to own it way back when but I never got far enough to figure that out. Couldn't get past how horrible the game was to play when compared to the 4th one. But I may have to go back and play it now. I guess the Wii has it on virtual console now.

    -Unrelated to the Quote-
As far as the Elder Scrolls series goes, my favorite has always been Daggerfall. I know it looks like crap and was buggy as hell, but that was part of it's charm. And for some reason it was always more fun for me than either Morrowind (which I couldn't stand because of it's setting) and Oblivion.

    The Continuum

I've never understood why people actually post that something was simply to long for them to read -_- If you can't be bothered then read the overview and the verdict, that's why I put it in there. Oh and sorry for sticking this in normal general chat, was 4 AM here and I forgot a special section existed for other games, heh.

    The Continuum

Hey everyone, it's been a while. I'm back for a while but mostly only to spread the word about another Indie game that's worth mentioning... though I don't think Mount & Blade can ever lose the title of best Indie game ever from in my book. The game is called The Continuum and it launched about...

What type of gameplay do you think mount&blade get closer to? Or created?

It's a well crafted hack-n-slash/RPG if it has to be put into a category. I wouldn't call it an "Action-RPG" because the combat in ARPG's is a measure more rigid than the free flowing combat feel M&B has. Thats not to says the combat is shallow, it's not, hack-n-slash can be deep too. But I don't feel like I'm playing Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy 12 when I play M&B and those are ARPG's. It feels more like a blend of Kingdom Under Fire (The Dynasty Warriors clone one) with some solid production values blended with some frothy RPG elements and topped off with a dollop of realism. Thats right, M&B is a cappuccino.

The combat philosophy of your current character

My current character, Gaspar Mardruxian, is an old grizzled warrior/general. I rely more heavily on giving my soldiers orders and directing them around the field than I did with my previous 'charge into the enemy ranks and gnaw off their heads!' philosophy I've used with nearly all the rest of my characters. He wears coat-of-plates armor because I think it looks badass as well as other medium-heavy armor. He carries a one-handed sword and shield for horseback melee, a lance for an initial charge with his cavalry, and a two-hander for ground work in case he is de-horsed or the terrain is not conducive to mounted fighting.

    Khergits - Care-gits

    Rhodoks - Row-docks

    Swadia - Swa-dia

    Vaegirs - Vay-gears

Nords - People who refuse to adopt mounted warfare

Khudan - Coup (as in the rebellion) dahn.

So, I knocked him off his feet

Sounds like you pretty much answered your own question then. If you weren't close enough to knock him down with your horse and you're sure an ally wasn't close enough to do the same then there must be something where if you hit someone with enough momentum they will be knocked down even if they block.

I don't know for sure though, anyone actually know?

    A good world Leader

A leader who desires power above all other things is often a poor person to give power because they will use it and often not for the good of the people who bestowed them their influence.

That would include Cromwell, though I don't know if I'd class him as a good leader, especially not if you're Scottish or Irish. Then again, his failures at state level could be put down to a rather idiotic parliament and a tempremental military.

Well, if you're a terrible leader to begin with... it won't matter. These are just components of a good leader (in my completely amateurish opinion.) And yes, if the tools a leader has to work with are bad it often makes no difference how good a leader you are.

    Kids These Days.

Yeah, we have that here in the states as well. The trend really went into full swing my senior year of High School.

It's beyond me why the "gangsta" culture is so appealing to people.

    Your preferred poison?

A nice white zinfandel is good.

As far as mixed drinks go, pretty much anything with vodka: Bloody Mary, Screwdriver, etc.

I can't stand beer though, tastes like sweaty socks to me. Especially American beers. The only one I've had that I can stand is Canadian beer.

One of the my favorite examples is one of the patriot heroes of the early United States: George Washington. Not because he was a particularly brilliant military man (He wasn't but he was pretty damn good.) but because he refused to accept ultimate power. He was offered kingship on multiple occasions and refused it. That shows real character, real honesty. Leaders who can do what is right for their people with minimal concern for their personal gain are the ones who should run the show. However, all to often they aren't because those who are seeking the power actively are the ones who get it.

    My 2-cents.

Where did your avatar picture come from and what does it mean to you? Out of many of the forums I normally go to (not very many anymore, but still.) this one has the widest variety of... interesting avatars. So, where does it come from?

Who has actually bought the game?

Generally a 'crack' refers to playing a game without the CD inserted in the drive. But in M&B's case it's more sinister.

Suffice it to say it's highly illegal and immoral. (The latter especially in the case of this game since it is so incredibly cheap and was founded on a mom n' pop sort of platform.)
