Tsunami looks stupid. It's just a wave that sticks on one tiny spot for a short moment, not anything like its description. No man-sized tide.

A simple wave has a wider area effect than tsunami.
As I feared. It sounds just like a water version of Wall Of Fire.

Fire shroud doesn't work. I can't cast it and I'm High Magician level 14.
I still haven't tested that spell, so I can't really give any advice about why it isn't working.

And after getting the 20 ale to learn freezing trail the quest is still marked as open even though I got a message saying the quest has been completed.
I could have sworn I fixed that.

I'll have to go back and check it again.

EDIT: Think I know why I can't get burning trail. Maybe my magic level was checked once when I first talk to Skald. If you meet the requirements of soaring ray but not the rest then he teaches you that and doesn't check your magic level again. This would explain why some users got burning trail and fire wall spells and others couldn't. You must be a high level magician before you first talk to Skald. I restarted a game and didn't get any spells aside from fireball, cure, soaring ray, mass cure and fox grace. I mastered all of these spells and became high level magician 14 but still wasn't offer the burning trail spell.
In all honesty, I'm really not happy with the way spells are learned in the first place. When I ported the magic system from Magic World, I basically just changed the NPCs used as magic trainers and altered the dialogues a bit. At some point in the future, I'd like to redesign the way the player learns spells, but I haven't put too much tought into it yet. The way it is now, spells are far too easy to learn.
