ok my favorite wtf. i dled the mod, not reading andthing, except how awesome it was. had a 120 man force of empire and sarleon knights with about 20 rangers in support. get attacked by the jatu 140 man force. right on i think. these guys are toast, start the fight, position archers and start the cavalry advance, as the 140 jatu charge me and im immediately knocked from my horse by about 30 couched lance hits in the first pass. army, dead, me, prisoner. but got it was awesome to see.

    300/Battle of Thermopylae MINIMOD

    Jackamo 说:
ya this guys right they wer elike completley naked  still how could they even fight 1000000 persians with only 300 man thats like impossible in the real world

the purpose of choosing the ground at thermopolye was that the canyon walls would allow numerous ranks of spartans, with no ability for the enemy to flank them. as the first rank tired they could fall back and rest. there were only 300 spartans there, and they did have a major influence over the battle, but they were not alone:
A Greek force of approximately 7,000 men marched north to block the pass in the summer of 480 BC. The Persian army, alleged by the ancient sources to have numbered in the millions but today considered to have been much smaller (various figures are given by scholars ranging between about 100,000 and 300,000), arrived at the pass in late August or early September. Vastly outnumbered, the Greeks held off the Persians for seven days in total (including three of battle), before the rear-guard was annihilated in one of history's most famous last stands. During two full days of battle, the small force led by King Leonidas I of Sparta blocked the only road by which the massive Persian army could pass. After the second day of battle, a local resident named Ephialtes betrayed the Greeks by revealing a small path that led behind the Greek lines. Aware that his force was being outflanked, Leonidas dismissed the bulk of the Greek army, and remained to guard the rear with 300 Spartans, 700 Thespians, 400 Thebans and perhaps a few hundred others, the vast majority of whom were killed.
and with reguards to armor, a spartan hoplite derives its name from "hoplon" , the type of the shield used by the troopers other armor worn was the corinthian helm, greaves, guantlets, and Cuirass (breastplate). sparta was a warrior nation, with fierce fighters, but there renowned sucess came from using both the Phalanx tactic and bronze armor and a bronze covered hoplon, when other cultures used cloth and leather armor, and wicker shields.  please if you want to talk intelligently base your reaseach of of valid sources, of these, zach snyder is not one.

edit* just went through the rest of this and saw most of this was stated, for the smart ones, bravo and the "less fortunate? well go back to watching the last airbender maybe you can find some "historical accuracys" in that

Instead of going on a holy frenzied crusade against Brocas, you could've just guessed he's not a native English speaker and what he meant was (I'll cite your Wiki copy-paste) "The Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon (Latin: Pauperes commilitones Christi Templique Solomonici), commonly known as the Knights Templar". So, congratulations, you just acted like a jackass for no real reason!
ive been called worse! there was no crusade against brocas, just stating fact. anyway, back to suggestions lol. dismounted order troops?

Do you mean they will be included in the future?

btw: Thanks again for this mod. It's the unique reason I play Mount&Blade.

Of course they will, but we still don't know how. And, certainly, you won't see Templars and Hospitallers fighting in Europe. You'll see the fighting infidels and pagans, maybe even heretics. But to have this properly, we need to implement religion and find a way to represent the Templar and Hospitaller orders. We haven't worked on that yet...

    Take care!

good question, they didnt really have any strong holds in 1200 except acre, they lost jeruselum in 1187 and it was recaptured in 1229 without the templars. you could have them only recruitable in acre maybe?

Awesome work, ive only played the M&B version due to a conflict with warband, idk only runs windowed, i do have a request, there are some of us who ...i guess you would say rp their game play. i stick with a certain order, bet you cant guess which, but it restricts me in the type of army i can field. i use templars because i like the look of all that white and red on the battle field, plus without troop names the uniforms are easier to spot. cant we alter the troop trees of the nations you can recruit order knights from? i love my templars, but can only field mounted knights to stick with the order. maybe give an alternate path for spearmen, footmen, and yeomen,to also become dismounted templars, hospitallars etc? footmen to sergent or templar squire, then to dismounted templar knight, spearment to vet searmen or templar spearmen, yeomen to longbowmen or templar archer. we know these orders didnt go to war just as mounted knights, they had massive wealth and military power, whole armys. i just hat seeing 50 templar knights lined up behiend 20 english longbowmen, and engliss spearmen. just me two cents! but great work.

from what i understand you could use the knights models and skins, nerf their stats a bit and change the equiptment to solve this? am i wrong

About the orders i see tah are a lot of orders and the Templar Order (poorest Knight) have a lot of importance.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knights_Templar

The Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon (Latin: Pauperes commilitones Christi Templique Solomonici), commonly known as the Knights Templar, the Order of the Temple (French: Ordre du Temple or Templiers) or simply as Templars, were among the most famous of the Western Christian military orders. The organization existed for approximately two centuries in the Middle Ages.

Officially endorsed by the Roman Catholic Church around 1129, the Order became a favoured charity throughout Christendom, and grew rapidly in membership and power. Templar knights, in their distinctive white mantles with a red cross, were among the most skilled fighting units of the Crusades. Non-combatant members of the Order managed a large economic infrastructure throughout Christendom, innovating financial techniques that were an early form of banking, and building many fortifications across Europe and the Holy Land.

The Templars' existence was tied closely to the Crusades; when the Holy Land was lost, support for the Order faded. Rumors about the Templars' secret initiation ceremony created mistrust, and King Philip IV of France, deeply in debt to the Order, took advantage of the situation. In 1307, many of the Order's members in France were arrested, tortured into giving false confessions, and then burned at the stake. Under pressure from King Philip, Pope Clement V disbanded the Order in 1312. The abrupt disappearance of a major part of the European infrastructure gave rise to speculation and legends, which have kept the "Templar" name alive into the modern day.

Based on this mix of donations and business dealing, the Templars established financial networks across the whole of Christendom. They acquired large tracts of land, both in Europe and the Middle East; they bought and managed farms and vineyards; they built churches and castles; they were involved in manufacturing, import and export; they had their own fleet of ships; and at one point they even owned the entire island of Cyprus. The Order of the Knights Templar arguably qualifies as the world's first multinational corporation

i can see how the king of france owed so much money to the "poorest order"sorry for the huge post, just hate people talkin out their ass although i did notice everyone else ignored him, i needed to feel smart and historical!

BTW crugar, that link has a long list of templars, and dates served, incase you didnt arleady have it for the companions lol
